WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP Programme Director Vasanthi Srinivasan 09-11 January, 2012 In the last decade, Corporate India has witnessed a growing number of women in the middle and senior levels. Many of these women are at positions in the leadership hierarchy where they may require support to be able to move into the top management roles. During this period of career advancement, women experience challenges that are personal, organizational or societal. It is during this phase that women’s identity, her career orientations and the organizational policy enable her to stay in the workforce. Ensuring that senior women create meaningful opportunities for themselves and their organizations is one of the key drivers of this program. Objectives Strengthen the capacities of women in their roles as professionals in organizations Build strong support and coaching networks that they can leverage later on in their lives Strategies for managing change and new initiatives effectively within organizations Enable women to develop a personal roadmap for themselves as they progress in their careers At the end of the programme, the participants will be asked to commit to one personal change agenda which will be tracked for a period of 6 months post the programme. Contents On being a leader Discovering oneself: theatre in action Mentoring and women Decision making and leadership Execution: the heart of leadership Developing a personal vision Pedagogy Conceptual inputs on leadership, women and influence in organizations will be provided. The programme will be in workshop format consisting of theatre exercises, cases, inventory and discussions. Target Participants’ Profile Senior women leaders holding senior managerial positions in organizations with professional life experience of about 15 years and above. PROGRAMME DIRECTOR Vasanthi Srinivasan Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources Management Professor Vasanthi Srinivasan is a Fellow in Management from IIM Bangalore and Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from XLRI Jamshedpur. Prior to joining IIMB, she worked at Wipro Ltd. and The P&P Group, a consulting firm. Her research interests are in the field of Career and Performance Management, International Human Resource Management and Women Professionals in the IT sector.
