Women’s Bible Study

• Job 21:1 Then Job spoke again

• 7Why do the wicked prosper, growing old and powerful?

• 14And yet they say to God, 'Go away. We want no part of you and your ways.

• 22 But who can teach a lesson to God, since he judges even the most powerful?

• Job 22:1-5 Then Eliphaz the Temanite replied:

• 2Can a person do anything to help God?

• Can even a wise person be helpful to him?

• 3Is it any advantage to the Almighty if you are righteous?

• Would it be any gain to him if you were perfect?

• 4Is it because you're so pious that he accuses you and brings judgment against you? 5 No, it's because of your wickedness! There's no limit to your sins.

• Eliphaz’ speech to Job can be viewed as a clear assault from Satan:

• You are nothing in God’s eyes (1-4)

• You aren’t good – you are an outrageous sinner (5-10)

• You don’t fear God like you say you do (12-13)

• You are acting like the wicked men of old who said to God: depart from me. Leave me alone. ( 22:15-17)

• While there is NO condemnation from GOD for those who are in Christ Jesus… ….there IS condemnation and accusation from Satan hurled against those who belong to Jesus.

• Learn to discern the difference between lies and truth, the difference between condemnation from Satan and conviction from the Holy Spirit.

• The only way to do this is to have a healthy diet of God’s Word. Every thought should be considered according to God’s truth. Every cliché, every buzz word or catchy phrase, every attitude, every perspective should be compared to what God says.

• Thinking about life according to the truth of the Bible is called having a biblical worldview. – The origin of life,

– the purpose of life,

– the motives for actions,

– the assessment of the present day,

– the problems in the world,

– the solution to the problems,

– and the expectations of the future

– should all be based on what the Bible says.

• Your two most basic needs are for security and significance .

– Whatever you depend on is what you worship.

– Whatever determines your actions is what you worship.

– Whatever describes you and defines your identity is what you worship.

• Satan tempts you to look for something other than God to meet your need for security and significance.

• Focus on the truth that the Lord gives us so that we will be able to enjoy the acceptance, security and significance that we have in Christ.
