WONDERLANDBy Huda, Marc and Valentino

Marco Levi

We have decided to create our own artist, this is because it allows us to have creative freedom and it gives room for multiple ideas for our video, by choosing to build up an artists image we can avoid restrictions and do what ever we want, this is key because we are aiming to avert general music video conventions. One way we will do this is by incorporating surrealism with our music video.

Content OutlineThis video will be based on a journey of a young male on the

prowl looking for a girl who is always just outside of his reach, he begins to develop a surreal view of the environment around him, his appearance begins to alter by his continuous change

of costume and his surroundings become stranger, soon things begin to blur and the line between reality and his

consciousness becomes blurry , he finds himself heading to one place and ends up in the next, the entirety of this video is

unpredictable and unconventional.

Surrealism

Surrealism began in the early 1920's, the term was coined by Guillaume Apollinaire. Surrealism was aimed to allow

people to channel their subconscious and move freely in a dream world where they gain inspiration to form magnificent pieces of art, surrealists took in the opinions of philosophers,

psychologists and sociologists and they interpreted the work of these people to actively discuss their newly found movement

and liberal imagination.

We asked students within the age bracket of 16-41 about their favourite genres and if they knew what surrealism was, many said no, however we have apprehended this and decided to still introduce them to the concept of surrealism, whilst using conventional elements of music videos to include in our own in order to have our music video come across more captivating and interesting to watch by delivering elements and concepts which are both new and familiar to them.

Target AudienceOur target audience is Young adults and late teens because after giving out our questionnaire and finding young adults and late teens tended to be the most unaware age group towards the concept of surrealism, we feel introducing them to surrealism will gain us a positive reaction and we will get satisfaction from introducing them to something new, expanding their horizons and inspiring their creativity because surrealism has no limits. Besides the fact that following the concept of surrealism and incorporating conventional elements of music videos will be more of a challenge for us than replicating generic music videos.

Twitter Twitter is a growing social network site where people share

their interests with one another and some also use it as a platform to interact with their favourite celebrities, we have searched through twitter to see exactly what people think of specific artists similar to our own and also to see if our target audience is the right one to market to.

PropsApple and Bowler hat

This is a classic surreal image and one of the most known paintings in surrealism, the bowler hat is a

very significant figure in the culture and many artists have

used this painting as a reference to create their own take on this

image, we are planning on doing the same by bringing an element of each classic surrealist painting and include it in our music video
