solutions. With Pinomatic devices, you can also modernise
already existing lines to achieve higher profitability and ca-
pacity.
The areas of expertise include further processing at saw-
mills, the door and window industry, the pallet industry, pa-
nel and moulding production, glulam and CLT production,
plywood and LVL production as well as the production of
furniture and edge-glued panels.
Pinomatic products are produced in our factory in
Kauhajoki, Finland, from start to finish - from design and
mechanisation to electrification and automation. Also, we
carry out test drives at our factory before delivery, to en-
sure smooth installation and start-up at the customer's site.
Should you require equipment or production lines deliv-
ered by the turnkey principle, we will also offer training for
the operating personnel in addition to the installation and
start-up of the equipment.
Professional after sales service will also be available during
the entire product life cycle, ensuring the functioning of the
equipment in the years to come.

Stacking and de-stacking equipment
Pinomatic delivers different kinds of stacking and
destacking equipment for the wood industry. Pinomatic
stackers can be used at the infeed of woodworking ma-
chines or lines as well as after them to stack ready-made
products.
Pinomatic stacking and de-stacking equipment is avail-
able in many different models. Over 400 stackers have
been delivered to different stages of production in the
wood industry.
There is a vast arrangement of different kind of grippers,
from mechanical grippers to vacuum boxes. Pinomatic
vacuum box gripper was granted a patent in 2014 by the
European Patent Office.
Pinomatic 1900 is a reliable basic stacker, which can be
used at the infeed of woodworking machines or lines and
after them for stacking ready-made products.
Also, our portal stackers can be used for the infeed of
woodworking machines or lines as well as at the end of
them. Portal models are especially suitable for applica-
tions with high line speed and many stack stations. There
are different models available according to the material
that is handled on the line. The stackers can also be
equipped with servomotors to increase capacity.
Layer stackers stack complete timber batches. There is
also optional equipment available, such as a stick feeder.
To optimising cross cut saw lines, there are OS-stackers
available in different models, according to capacity.
There are models available for lines that are on the floor
level, as well as for lines that have been lifted up.
Stacker Pinomatic 1930 is designed for stacking panel
and moulding bundles packaged in shrink plastic. The de-
vice provides straight stacks without damaging the plas-
tic packaging. The device is always delivered with a dis-
charge conveyor at the end of the packaging machine.
We also deliver different kinds of special stackers and
destackers according to the needs of the customer. In ad-
dition, we have heavy duty models available for the
handling of heavy pieces such as CLT and LVL.

Conveyors
Almost all of our deliveries contain a specific number of
conveyors. Our delivery programme includes belt, roll
and chain conveyors produced individually for each cus-
tomer, following the specific needs.
The conveyors range from light conveyors for furni-
ture components to massive timber stack conveyors. The
combination of appropriate conveyors with competent
programming forms the basis of a properly functioning
production line.
Feeding devices for wood working machines
We deliver special feeding equipment for woodworking
machines, such as planers, cross cutting saws, finger
jointing machines, scanners and many other wood-
working machines.
Turning devices
Our production programme includes different kind of
turning devices, from light component turning devices to
massive stack turners.
Special solutions
According to the needs of the customers, we also deliver
special mechanisation solutions, of which we have deliv-
ered over 100 items over the years.

Wood Vision
The Pinomatic Wood Vision is a wood optimising and grading
system that scans on four sides. The scanner is capable of re-
cognising any defects that is possible to see with a modern
camera and laser technology; such as knots, cracks, pith, resin
pockets, wane, blue stain, decay, compression wood and di-
mension faults. The Pinomatic Wood Vision scanner system
can be used for quality control in areas such as cross-cutting
saw and planer/moulder lines, as well as in other targets
where the pieces move in a longitudinal direction.
Circle View
Pinomatic CircleView scanner is designed to display the an-
nual rings on a board's end and to control a turning device be-
fore woodworking machines. The device is ideal for planing,
band saw and finger jointing lines, as well as similar applica-
tions where boards are moving in a cross direction in a con-
trolled manner on a knot chain conveyor. CircleView can also
be connected to existing lines.
ScannersScanners
We have produced various special sawing machines to meet
our customers' requirements. The machines have been in-
stalled for cutting frame components, for splitting and cutting
glued components in connection with edge gluing presses, in
front and at the back of planing machines for cutting compo-
nents into sizes, and after finger jointing machines. We also
supply heavy duty saws for massive wood components and
saws suitable for LVL production lines.

Pinomatic HotLine shrink packaging machine is suitable for
the packaging of long pieces, such as mouldings, panels and
parquets. In the packing unit, the bundles are wrapped auto-
matically into a plastic sheet from a roll, and the ends of the
sheet are welded tightly. After that the bundle is transferred to
a heater, where the plastic is shrunk tightly around the bundle.
The shrink packaging machine is available in two different
capacities, according to the needs of the customer. Our deliv-
ery programme also includes equipment for the packaging of
wide pieces, such as doors and edge glued panels.

Pinomatic provides solutions for various types of planing
lines. For different dimensions and line speeds, there are
specific standard products. The production line can use a
modern vacuum gripper technology or a traditional tilt
hoist system.
We can deliver full mechanisation for planing lines,
from feeding until the end of the line, to the speeds of
high capacity planing machines.

Pinomatic delivers devices for the automation of finger
jointing lines, to improve the capacity and ergonomics of
the lines. The deliveries include feeding devices from
manual to fully automatic feeding (various automation
levels), unmanned equipment for installation between a
cross-cutting saw and finger jointing machine, as well as
stacking and cutting devices for finger jointed timber.
Our delivery programme includes devices for the au-
tomatic feeding of both horizontal and vertical joint ma-
chines. As a speciality, Pinomatic has developed a fully au-
tomatic unmanned stacking device, which forms batches
that are then fed to the finger jointing machine.
Pinomatic delivers mechanisations for different kinds of
band saw lines. We distribute complete line mechanisa-
tion from infeed of the band saw to the stacking of
readymade products. Often, the lines include grading
and sorting, with a CircleView camera system.

In addition to mechanisation, we can also provide optimis-
ing cross-cutting saw lines with a scanner. Stacks are un-
loaded to the line and guided to a scanner, which transmits
the sawing list to the cross-cutting saw. For cut pieces we of-
fer top-speed stacking devices of the OS-series.
We supply two types of finishing lines. Firstly, there are
lines for the surface treatment of furniture components, in
which case the processed pieces are wide. The second type
of finishing lines is designed for the surface treatment of
narrow pieces such as construction mouldings, panels or ex-
ternal wall timber that are finished at high line speeds.
In the largest delivered lines, the pieces are surface
treated three times and move over 230 metres along the
line.

SCADA system (supervisory control and data acquisition)
is the basis for comprehensive control of the complete
production line.
The SCADA system supplied by Pinomatic helps to
considerably increase the utilisation rate of the line,
thanks to centralised control. Inputting the settings takes
less time, as they can be done from one place, and possi-
ble disturbances can be quickly located and eliminated,
without wasting time searching for the cause of the dis-
turbance.
Often the SCADA system is connected to the wood
working machines of other machine suppliers, as well.
For each product produced on the line, a production
plan can be created. With the SCADA system, it becomes
a that includes the technical settings, accord-“formula”
ing to which the line machines are controlled.
The SCADA system can also be included in different
kinds of statistics and production reports.
The user and maintenance manuals, as well as other
documents, can also be added to the SCADA system.
CLT productionCLT production
Pinomatic has delivered mechanisation devices for CLT
production and can offer customised production line solu-
tions.
According to the destination and needs, the actual
lamination of the elements can be completed with sur-
face polishing and the cutting of openings. The boards re-
quired in the elements can be finger joined and planed at
the same factory.

Glulam productionGlulam production
Pinomatic has been mechanising different sizes produc-
tion lines for glulam production and has extensive
knowledge and experience of the lines.
For glulam pressing lines, we deliver equipment in
the front of the press for the grading of lamellas and pre-
paring the lamella batches, which can be done using the
“formulas” made by the SCADA system delivered by
Pinomatic. At the end of the pressing line, there are de-
vices for the separating and stacking of the glulam
beams.
The glulam beams can be trimmed to lengths on the
glulam planing line. After the planing, the quality of the
glulam is checked and they can be guided to a repairing
station, if needed. At the end of the line, the glulam
beams are stacked and packaged.

Pinomatic can offer production lines for the plywood in-
dustry as well as a variety of conveyor, stacking and de-
stacking equipment and mechanisation solutions.
The most up-to-date, patented vacuum box techno-
logy is utilised in the stackers. These solutions provide
flexibility and cost-efficiency in production, as one vac-
uum stacker is able to stack a number of grades and di-
mensions at the same time, such as finished plywood for
customer-specific stacks.
Pinomatic has also in the production programme
stack turning devices for the plywood industry. Turning
devices can be used in different stages of the production,
for example for turning veneer and plywood stacks.
Stacks are brought to the turning device as well as re-
ceived from the device on the same side of the device,
thus meaning that the device takes up minimal space.
For LVL production, Pinomatic delivers different kinds of
production line solutions for the customised cutting and
packaging of the pieces, according to the needs and fac-
tory space of the customer.
The lines consist of mechanisation equipment and de-
vices for handling the stacks. We also deliver different
kinds of splitting and trimming saws for LVL boards and
beams.
Often, calibration sanding, splitting, planing and
moisture protecting is also done on the LVL lines.
Patented vacuum technology is used in the stacking
and de-stacking devices.
Pinomatic has developed a vacuum-operating manual
lifting device, which can be attached to a hall crane, for
example. Typical targets where this lifting device can be
used include the handling of heavy pieces such as ply-
wood, LVL or wooden boards.
Lifting devices are manufactured according to the spe-
cific needs of the customer. Lifting devices are equipped
with UPS in the event of unexpected power disruption.

Pinomatic supplies edge glued panel factories automatic
production lines complete with edge gluing presses.
Most deliveries have been for manufacturing edge glued
panels from different types of wood, but many lines have
also been delivered for component production in door
and window factories.
INNOVAPRESS
Pinomatic INNOVAPRESS operation is continuous. On the
front end of the press, the “warm part”, the glue is acti-
vated quickly, which enables an essential shortening of
the time taken in pressing. At the rear end of the press
there is a cooling area.
The warm treatment is the equivalent of the tech-
nique used by the warm platen press but the operating
properties of the friction press - such as a minimised need
of sanding on panels and its suitability as an inline ma-
chine in the continuous panel process line - still exist.
Gluing is performed by the Innova patented gluing
applicator, which allows a gluing speed of 300m per min-
ute. The press can also be equipped with a comb or
sprayer gluing applicator. The press settings are very sim-
ple to set thanks to the high automation level.
SMARTPRESS
Pinomatic SMARTPRESS is designed for small and me-
dium size production series. The quality of edge-glued
panels is still completely equal to that of panels, which
have been made with our high efficiency presses.
SMARTPRESS is a continuously working friction press
which is equipped with a hot plate construction. It is suit-
able for both hardwood and softwood. Due to the heat-
ing process, a good glue joint is achieved in as little as
three minutes during the through-feed time.
Almost 100 edge gluing presses have been delivered
all over the world.

Pinomatic has delivered many production line solutions
and has experience of over 100 successful projects in the
different phases of door production. As result, customers
have more competitive and profitable production due to
increased production capacity, which results from the
elimination of production bottlenecks on existing pro-
duction lines and by improved work ergonomics.
For door nishing and painting lines, we deliver high
capacity automatic lines, of which the latest develop-
ment version is equipped with robots. The doors make
two cycles on the line so that both sides of the doors are
painted, and the robots also turn the doors. The door
stacks moves automatically.
We offer complete deliveries for door equipping and
packaging lines. The line offers excellent working ergo-
nomics since the doors are not manually lifted or pro-
cessed in any stage. In a line-type production the manu-
facturing is also systematically smooth and efficient.

For the window industry we deliver machining lines,
where the woodworking machines are linked into one
unit. Our deliveries have ranged from smaller lines up to
mass production lines with the length of over 400 metres.
We provide solutions for the mechanisation of both
sash and frame lines, as well as for the other targets in the
window production, up to packaging.
Pinomatic has many production line solutions tailored for
the pallet industry. Pinomatic stackers and de-stackers can
be used both for infeeding components into the pallet ma-
chines and for stacking ready-made pallets.
We have developed special grippers for our stackers
and de-stackers that are particularly suitable for the needs
of the pallet industry. These grippers work reliably for
even wane timber, as well as for stacks where the surface
layer is not even. For a mechanical gripper, sawdust and
resin also do not cause problems. We have infeed solu-
tions for direct feeding to pallet machine cassettes.
Pinomatic has also developed a camera system that de-
tects the wane side of the boards and turns them so that
boards are infed to cassettes in the right position.

For moulding, panel and parquet industry we deliver pro-
duction lines from planing and finger jointing to finish-
ing, whether it is painted wooden mouldings, coated
MDF panels or ready made parquets.
On the Pinomatic packaging lines, ready-made pro-
ducts can be packaged into shrink plastic packages.
Pinomatic delivers stacking and destacking equipment to-
gether with conveyors for massive wood and board fur-
niture components. There are also very fast models
equipped with servomotors.
