• In the first year (2004-2005) of our S.T.A.R.S. program there was a decrease in the number of referrals.
• We went from 485 referrals to 248 referrals.
• Although in 2005-2006 the number of referrals was at 392, the number of referrals for S.T.A.R.S. student were 83 with 66 of them being from 6 “red zone” S.T.A.R.S. students.
• While the program is not effective for all students, most are very successful. One student went from 21 referrals in 2003 to 13 referrals in 2004 (her first year in the S.T.A.R.S. program) and 5 in 2005 (her second year in the S.T.A.R.S. program).

The S.T.A.R.S. program began in 2004 with a total of 15 students.
Presently (2005-2006) the S.T.A.R.S. program has a total of 18 students.
• For the 2005-2006 school year one S.T.A.R.S. student (4th grade) has been a Safety Patrol.
• In the 2004-2005 school year there was also
one S.T.A.R.S. student that was a Safety Patrol.
• Five S.T.A.R.S. have been “Student of the Week”.

Level One• Wildcat Bucks
• “Great Job” certificate
• “Goody bag” (stickers, sharpener, pencils, wildcat bucks)
Level Two•Lunch with….. ( a friend, administrator, teacher, etc.)
• 15 mins. of free time (computer, art, gym, or music)
• “Caught in the Act Coupons”
Level Three• 20 minutes of “free” gym time.
• 20 minutes of free Computer lab time.
• Helper with morning announcements.
Level Four
Lunch of your choice with a special friend.
Office Helper (15 mins. during S.T.A.R.S. student’s lunchtime)
