• In the first year (2004-2005) of our S.T.A.R.S. program there was a decrease in the number of referrals.

• We went from 485 referrals to 248 referrals.

• Although in 2005-2006 the number of referrals was at 392, the number of referrals for S.T.A.R.S. student were 83 with 66 of them being from 6 “red zone” S.T.A.R.S. students.

• While the program is not effective for all students, most are very successful. One student went from 21 referrals in 2003 to 13 referrals in 2004 (her first year in the S.T.A.R.S. program) and 5 in 2005 (her second year in the S.T.A.R.S. program).
