Pastor Freeman

The Welcome | Rev. Dr. Theresa Latini

The Invocation

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Confession and Absolution

Pastor: Let us confess our sin in the presence of God and one another.

Congregation: God, have mercy on us. We confess that we have turned from you and one another and given ourselves into the power of sin. In your compassion forgive us our sins, known and unknown, things we have done and things we have failed to do. Turn us again to you, and uphold us by your Spirit, so that we may live and serve you in newness of life through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

Pastor: God, who is rich in mercy, loved us even when we were dead in sin, and made us alive together with Christ. By grace you have been saved. In the name of Jesus Christ, your sins are forgiven. Almighty God strengthen you with power through the Holy Spirit, that Christ may live in your hearts through faith.

Congregation: Amen.

The Prayer of the Day

Pastor and Congregation: Lord God, you have called us to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths untrodden, through perils unknown. Give us faith, hope, and love to go out with good courage and accompany you in ministering to the needs of the world, not knowing where we go, but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Reading | Romans 5:1-5

Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand. And we boast in our hope of the glory of God. And not only that but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, that has been given to us.

The Lord’s Prayer

Pastor & Congregation: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
