The company was founded by Martin Göthager in 1946 and is

today run by his three sons; Lars-Erik, Ulf & Göran Göthager.

Third generation is working in the company with focus on

taking the business forward.

The family firm of Ivanhoe was founded in 1946 in Gällstad, a district known as Sweden’s own knitting centre, where the traditions and pioneering spirit of fine garment making still live on. Ivanhoe manufactures and sells clothes for active people and several generations of experience and competence enable us to continuously develop both base and functional garments. The classic materials, such as wool and cotton, can always be found in our collections, but we also incorporate new blends, treatments and modern knitting and weaving techniques. This results in well made, classic and hardwearing clothes, clothes that will give you many long years of enjoyable use.

Production takes place in our own factory in Gällstad as well as in partner factories around Europe. Approximately 90% of all knitting takes place in the knitting department in Gällstad. We have recently bought new knitting machines as well as moved several machines back home from Estonia.

Having production in Sweden and Europe gives us control, flexibility, shorter lead times and shorter transportations. We can act and react quickly and can adjust production to demand and easily develop new products in season.

WELCOME TO OUR WORLD OF WOOL. The fall/winter collection 2014/15 is based purely around wool. Underwool, our layer one progamme in thin, soft extra fine merino wool to be worn close to body, cosy lambswool sweaters, sporty merino sweaters and a wide variety of boiled wool garments, a quality that has become particularly appreciated.

In boiled wool we present a range of new and appealing colours and patterns. Merino sweaters in full milano knitting is back in the range and has that unique Ivanhoe look and sporty touch. In lambswool you will find scandinavian patterns that really follow tradition as well as a number of styles in a new soft melange yarn. The GY Gällstad Colletion has been well received and we have continued to develop this part of the range.

Wool sweaters do not need to be washed particularly often. Instead, hang the garment out for airing occasionally and it will soon revive and feel clean and fresh again. When you wash, look for washing instructions in the side seam. Most of our wool garments can be washed in the washing machine, using the 30oC (approx. 80oF) wool program. When washing by hand, rub gently to avoid felting.

Wool is a living material that adjusts to your body temperature.

When it is warm, moisture and body heat is absorbed by the wool and transported away from the body.

When it is cold, warmth is retained in the millions of microscopic air pockets naturally found in wool.

A wool garment will not retain the smell associated with sportswear made of man made fibres.

Wool keeps you warm even if it’s wet, and is more elastic thansyntehtic fibres.

Wool enables you to keep a warm, comfortable and con-stant body temperature, which is important for maximum performance.

Merino wool, we use both fine- and extra fine merino wool, this wool is particularly soft and can easily be worn direct to skin.

All our styles with this tag has merino wool from South Africa and therefore guaranteed to be mulesing free. The yarn is spun in Romania and dyed in Italy.

Full milano knitting, weight: 485gr/m2.Half milano kntting, weight: 400gr/m2.

Lambswool is a soft, but also a weak fiber, a mixture with 20% polyamide makes it stronger, more long lasting and form stable.

WWINDBREAKER

To strenghten our swedish inheritance, and as a sign of high quality, we have chosen to brand our garments with a swedish flag. The flag has a descrete and tasteful placement and is either to be found as a glass rivet or as a woven label.

All our windbreaker garments have lining with stretch in the back part in order to make them more comfortable and flexible to wear. The lining is developed by FOV in Borås for active wear and certified with the Öko-Tex standard 100.

Breathability: 20000g/m2/24h.

We use Sport Loden wool in our boiled wool garments. A Blue Sign certified yarn supplied by Schoeller Bregenz.

Weight varies from 425-460 gr/m2.

GY Gällstad Collection we go back to our roots, back to his

work.

When he started the business, he focused on knitted fash-

ion for women. For fall/winter 12-13 we launched some of

his favorite styles made in the fabrics and with the tech-

niques we used today. This was a great success, so we have
