> Zigbee Wireless Network – KABA Style
> Two main hardware elements (same HW, different FW)
> Gateway: creates a Zigbee network
> Router: wirelessly expands Zigbee network from Gateway
> Gateway (First connection) is scalable by clients needs, USB, X-
Over Cable, TCP/IP
> If TCP/IP selected , only one connection required from a
customer’s network infrasrtructure
> CAT 5 drop; or
> WiFi adapter (COTS, available as a KABA Option)
> The balance of the Zigbee network is easily installed with KABA’s
Routers, which are intelligent wireless repeaters that provide a bi-
directional comms link between the locks with the Gateway. They
only require 5 VDC power from supplied adapter.

> Zigbee Wireless Locks
> Wireless Kits make any KABA E-5X000 series E-Plex lock field
upgradable
> We offer the ability to put the wireless antenna on the front of the
lock or the inside of the lock. This maximizes RF performance and
range.
> Optional Hi-Capacity battery pack provides C cells instead of AA
cells to increase life by 1.4 X
> Kits also available for SAC (Single Access Controller) and Narrow
Stile locks and (SC) Server Cabinet locks
> Patented Lectrobolt technology makes installation easy and clean

Wireless Kits do not compromise the
ability of the E-Plex locks to be installed
in the advertised environments
E-Plex Wireless Technolgy
> Site Survey Process
> Performed by KABA Certified Wireless VARs at customer sites
> Tools needed:
> Singnal Strength Unit (SSU)
> Gateway
> Open range testing of Zigbee Gateway yields 700 ft RF «bubble»,
however site survey will assess impact of building construction
technique and environment
> Gateway is put into «Ping» mode by depressing test button and
placed at planned location(s). Dealer walks to planned doors with
SSU and measures dB reading. (SSU gives GO/NO GO).
> If unnaceptable reading, consider adding a Router or optimizing
location of Gateway.
