INTRODUCTION

Claim blocks P952183, P952169, P952174, P951940, P951896, etc. are situated in the Porcupine Mining District, within Jessop Township, northwest of the Timmins Airport. The most direct access to the claims is via helicopter transport to the north end of the NNE trending runway.

Geology

The host rock is a massive pillowed basalt which trends 90 degrees to 95 degrees and dips 65 degrees to 70 degrees to the north. These pillowed basalts probably belong to the Porcupine Group (Pyke, D.R., 1978, OGS Summary of Field Work).

GEOPHYSICAL SURVEYING

Magnetometer surveys were carried out on two grids, Grid l and Grid 2, using an EDA OMNI-IV magnetometer which measures the vertical component of the earths magnetic field. Readings were corrected for diurnal variation by tie line looping (in tie mode) and readings were taken at 25 m contour intervals.

Max-Min horizontal loop surveys were also carried out on Grid l and Grid 2, using an Apex Parametrics Max-Min II instrument with 150 m coil separation at frequencies of 444 Kz and 888 Kz.

Both surveys were conducted and plotted by Exsics Exploration Ltd. of Timmins, Ontario, during May of 1988. Interpretation was done by M. Prew, geophysicist for Granges Exploration Ltd. Several anomalies found by the geophysical surveys warranted further exploration by diamond drilling.

DIAMOND DRILLING

A total of 5 diamond drill holes, B-l to B-5, were drilled by Bradley Bros. Ltd. of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, under contract to Granges Exploration Ltd. Drilling was done from September 12 to September 23, 1988 for a total of 635 m (2083 ft.) Assaying of 193 core and sludge samples was done by TSL Laboratories of Timmins, Ontario. The drilling was supervised by Tod Keast, geologist for Granges Exploration Ltd.

No significant mineralization was found from the diamond drilling done in this program. No further work is anticipated on the property at this time.
