exam1ned; uS1ng a scraper to open up all doubtful semns or srots,

indicating rust or cracks. All damaged tin to be removed;new tin

furnished of approved make; and the work to be thorou~hly and fUb-

s tantially repaired and the roof to be made ready for painting.

The eave eutters on the north and south side of the building

(new '7" eave p;utters of #22 gauge galvanized iron) to be supplied,

fitted with proper haneers,and thoroughly well secured in place

and connected with the leader heads.

The roofina and th~ guttering to be ~iven two flowing coatsJ

of metallic paint, composed of the best quality of red lead and

pure raw linseed oil; - one Gallon of pure raw linseed oil to

25 Ibs. of pure red lead.

The roofL?'l.tform and hand rails to be carefully examined,

removing all decayed or damaged wood and repairing the entire work

in a substantial manner; using wrought iron anglee,1/2" x 2" and

lOll on each arm, .one angle iron to each pO:5t,for bracing the sa.m.e

in pos it ion.

Each flag ~ole to be supplied with a new truck,6" diameter,

mounted on a 5/8" diameter WI"Ought iron rod. The poles to be care­

fully calked,puttied and pain ted v/ith three coats of the best

white lead and raw linseed oil; last coat,half French zinc.

The p]a trorm and the hand rails are to be painted in like

manner"

All the decayed or damaged wood:. in the piazzas i (north a~d sout'r:..

sides of the building) to be removed; prime yellow pine,fine e;rain,

long leaf variety, to be supplied by the contractor;and all damaGod

wood work to be re~aired and m~e good, ready for painting. The new

Vlork to match in style and finish the old work now in place.

The exterior painting of the building is hereinafter specified.

oil paint: with very little liquid drier; the finish coat,generally,
