Club News Well the last five weeks have been busy for our Club and it's
members. We have had two State Of Origin nights. Both nights
had plenty of dancing, great footy games, fantastic suppers,
and tremendous atmospheres. Along with Integrity Squares, in-
tegrity Rounds and Sunshine Squares, Wavell has produced a
new smart jacket with a new logo, for Club members to pur-
chase and wear. We are also partnering with Integrity and Sun-
shine Squares to raise money for a defibrillator for our three
clubs. We are now looking forward to our annual EKKA night
with lots of great dancing, games, sample bags other prizes and
ice cream sundaes. Come along and join us.

Integrity Square & Round Dance Club ~ the Hub of Dancing on the Redcliffe Peninsula
Integrity Rounds
This has been a very good month for Round Dancing in our
Clubs. Our Saturday morning group consisting of up to 8 couples
are really progressing well, and learning at the moment one new
round dance each week. Our Thursday evening Learners group
consisting of approximately 12 enthusiastic couples is really
buzzing. The dancers are eager to learn new dances, and pick
up the movements very quickly.
Integrity Squares - Afternoons
Our 2.30 To 4.30 Fast Track Group has really established itself
as a stand alone group of dancers. We dance two squares of
newer dancers every Saturday afternoon, and if everyone came
on the one day, we would dance three squares. This doesn't
happen because of dancers going on holidays, cruises, baby
sitting etc. We are extremely pleased with the progress the
dancers are making in this group. During the afternoon
programme, we dance Squares, Line Dances and Mixers,
finishing with Old Time Dancing and a Monte Carlo.

LOL - Laugh Out Loud
Eleven people were hanging onto a rope under a helicopter, 10 men and one woman. The rope was not strong enough to carry them all, so they decided that one had to drop off, otherwise they all were all going to fall. They were not able to choose that person. But then the woman made a very touching speech. She said that she would voluntarily let go of the rope, because as a woman she was used to giving up everything for her husband and kids and for men in general without ever getting anything in return. As soon as she finished her speech, all the men applauded.
There are 3 types of men in this world - Some remain single and make wonders happen Some have girlfriends and see wonders happen Some get married ….. And wonder what happened
Romantic Text message She sent the following message - My love - if you are sleeping, send me your dreams If you are smiling, send me you smile If you are crying, send me your tears I love you. He Replied - I’m in the toilet. What do I send ?
LOST WORDS Heavens to Murgatroyd! Would you believe the email spell checker did not recognize the word murgatroyd? Lost Words from our childhood: Words gone as fast as the buggy whip! Sad really! Well, I hope you are Hunky Dory after you read this and chuckle. About a month ago, I illuminated some old expressions that have become obsolete because of the inexorable march of technology. These phrases included "Don't touch that dial," "Carbon copy," "You sound like a broken record" and "Hung out to dry." Back in the olden days we had a lot of moxie. We'd put on our best bib and tucker to straighten up and fly right. Heavens to Betsy! Gee whillikers! Jumping Jehoshaphat! Holy moley! Ye gads! We were in like Flynn and living the life of Riley, and even a regular guy couldn't accuse us of being a knucklehead, a nincompoop or a pill. Not for all the tea in China! Back in the olden days, life used to be swell, but when's the last time anything was swell? Swell has gone the way of beehives, pageboys and the D.A. and of spats, knickers, fedoras, poodle skirts, saddle shoes and pedal pushers. Oh, my aching back. Kilroy was here, but he isn't anymore. We wake up from what surely has been just a short nap, and before we can say, well I'll be a monkey's uncle! or, This is a fine kettle of fish! We discover that the words we grew up with, the words that seemed omnipresent as oxygen, have vanished with scarcely a notice from our tongues and our pens and our keyboards. Poof, go the words of our youth, the words we've left behind. We blink, and they're gone. Where have all those phrases gone? Long gone: Pshaw, The milkman did it. Hey! It's your nickel. Don't forget to pull the chain. Knee high to a grasshopper. Well, Fiddlesticks! Going like sixty. I'll see you in the funny papers. Don't take any wooden nickels. It turns out there are more of these lost words and expressions than Carter has liver pills. This can be disturbing stuff ! We of a certain age have been blessed to live in changeable times. For a child, each new word is like a shiny toy, a toy that has no age. We at the other end of the chronological arc have the advantage of remembering there are words that once did not exist and there were words that once strutted their hour upon the earthly stage and now are heard no more, except in our collective memory. It's one of the greatest advantages of aging. See ya later, alligator!
Thanks Denice, George & Jim !
