Additional Information How much experience do I need to participate in this workshop? Our workshops are designed for students who are comfortable dancing at an intermediate level. In order to get the most out of your time with us, we recommend at least 1 year of dance experience before signing up. We don’t require any previous singing experience.

Even though I dance and sing, does it matter if I am stronger in one area? No. It absolutely does not matter. Our aim is to further your development as a performer. Coming to us with things to work on makes you a perfect candidate.

How will you determine the 3 class groups? We divide the entire company into 3 smaller groups based on age. 12-13 years, 14-15 years and 16+ years. Every day starts with a full company warm-up across all age groups.

What should I wear? We recommend casual dance or fitness wear; leotards, tights, track pants, shorts, t-shirts and singlets are all great. The key is to be comfortable. Please wear sensible footwear; jazz shoes, dance sneakers and trainers are all good choices.

Do I need to bring anything with me? Just your great energy and enthusiasm! We also recommend bringing lunch, snacks and plenty of water from home so you can make the most out of your breaks.

Will there be regular breaks and time for lunch? Yes. Each day will have two 10-15 minute drink breaks as well as a 30 minute lunch break in the middle of the day.

Can I skip the warm up in the morning and just start at 10:45am? No. Attendance to the morning warm up is important for your own dance safety and as a part of our effort to prevent injury. If you are running late, please call us on 02 9746 0848 and let us know so we don’t mark you as absent.

Facilities – Personal Belongings There are a number of signs clearly indicating the location of the male and female toilets at each studio. Keep your personal belongings close by and please try not to bring any valuables with you. You will be permitted to bring your bag with you in to each class.

Are mobile phones allowed in class? Mobile phones are permitted to be carried with your things but must be switched off during class. If you’d like to film parts of the class, don’t worry we’ll be giving you plenty of opportunities to do so.

Supervision All students will be fully supervised during class and all break times. If your child needs to go off site in order to purchase food and drinks, please indicate your permission on the registration form. We can not be held responsible for your child’s welfare if they leave the workshop venue. Participants can be picked up at 4:00pm each day. If running late, please call us on 02 9746 0848 to let us know.

Credits and Testimonials Ed5 International is proud to boast a stunning history of graduates who have gone on to work throughout the

entertainment industry in Australia and abroad. Some of these credits include:

“Ed5 offers one of the most outstanding Performing Arts courses in Australia. If you want a career in the entertainment industry, whether as a performer, instructor or as a creative, Ed5 will deliver you the insight needed to help develop your career in the right direction.”

PJ Clarke (Owner/Director JEEP Management)

“As an employer of over 120 artists per year, at least 50% of my employees have graduated from Ed5 International. Ed5 undoubtedly produces the best dancer/singer/actors in Australia.”

Keith Hawley (Senior Entertainment Manager Venetian Resort Hotel Macau)

“I am rather lost for words about the Ed5 International graduation, my jaw was literally dropped the entire show. This was as good as, if not better, than a professional musical you would see at the Lyric or Capitol Theatres. Every single performer had fantastic technique and was super dedicated and

professional. Ed5 is where the next Lucy Durack will be coming from.” Dance Train Magazine

Past Students “ED5 International gave me the platform to begin my career as a professional performer in the industry. The training is intense and rewarding which changed me as a person and as a performer. To be able to benefit from the talented and inspiring William Forsythe is a reason to attend on it’s own! When it came to auditioning, I felt prepared and truly credit them as the reason I landed my first gig at Universal Studios Japan. Without the guidance I received there, I wouldn’t be where I am today.” Chloe Zuel (Les Miserables, Legally Blonde, Hairspray, Universal Studios Japan)

“I went to ED5 International in 2011 as a singer who had never danced. Over the 2 years William taught me the most valuable lesson - that discipline, hard work and tenacity take you just as far in this industry as talent. Learning this has served me in every area of life. There is no other school in Australia providing aspiring performers such well rounded industry preparation with currently working teachers, practical audition skills, included private singing lessons, nutrition and acting. I walked into my first job shortly after graduation and haven’t stopped working, all thanks to ED5.” Rachel Cole (Wicked, Matilda the Musical, Promises Promises, Chess, Opera Australia)

“Because of ED5 International I have learnt the skills of how to come across as a professional adult in the industry. I now feel as though I can walk into auditions and portray this light of confidence and a positive energy that makes me come across as hireable, dedicated and professional. I will admit it's not an easy course and you will be challenged and pushed to your limits but that was the thing I loved most about the course. It makes you so determined that when you succeed it is truly rewarding. Be assured that you will graduate having been taught everything you need to know about the industry and yourself.” Chiara Assetta (Universal Studios Japan)

“There is no way I would be the performer I am today without attending ED5 International. I learnt an incredible amount from teachers who are all top of the top in their genre's. The first Theatre Jazz class we did was with Leslie Bell and it absolutely took my breath away. I always came out of her class thinking ‘That’s why I love to dance!’ My advice to anyone considering going to ED5 would be to give it your absolute ALL! Push yourself to the limits and never hide up the back. Soak up all the information you can get as you can never, ever stop learning. It’s tough, but it is so worth it!” Sherri Burrows (Crystal Cruises – Line Captain, The Boy From Oz, The Veronicas)

“ED5 International works hard to nurture your strengths but equally and especially attends to your weaknesses to ensure a true triple threat performer is created. Mentally, and physically the course sculpted me into the performer I am today, and I owe so much of my success to the grounding and resilience that ED5 gave me. This is not just a performing arts school, it is a family. The friendships I have made is something that money can't buy. The two years go extremely quick, so don't sit back and let it slip by. The industry is tough so jump feet first in to the perfect place to make the mistakes, and to then learn from them.” Kate Wilson (Strictly Ballroom, Spiegel’esque)

“The training at ED5 International is unlike anything I have ever experienced. Being completely surrounded by the highest calibre teachers and inspiring people all day was the perfect environment to grow as a performer. I will cherish the values, skill set and industry knowledge I gained here throughout the rest of my career. I achieved things in those studios that I never would've imagined myself even attempting before. The inspiring teachers have incredible ways of pulling out the best in you. Training at ED5 is the best armour you can equip yourself with if you want to go far in this unique industry.” Sheridan Barr (Shanghai Disney, Princess Cruises)

“Throughout my time studying and training at ED5 International, I was taught by exceptional teachers who thoroughly prepared my entry in to the entertainment industry.” Bobby Fox (Jersey Boys, Spamelot, We Will Rock You, Mamma Mia, Hot Shoe Shuffle)

“ED5 International was the fundamental foundation for my successful career in the performing arts. The world class teachers, structured and well rounded curriculum and positive yet challenging environment gave me the knowledge, confidence, and ability to boldly and successfully pursue a career in Musical Theatre. With all the hard work, blood, sweat and tears that went into each moment along the journey, the best part came in sharing that experience with people who are still my closest friends ten years later. Watching their successes and being able to continue that support through both my career and in day to day life has been invaluable.” Michael Van Doorn (Chicago, Universal Studios Japan, Disney Japan, Millennium, Australian Opera)

“I always loved performing but didn't know a great deal about the ins and outs of the industry or what was expected of a professional. ED5 International really allowed me to transition from being a student to a pro which included a huge mental shift as well as improving my skills across the board. I absolutely loved the relentless rehearsals where you got to push yourself to your limits, especially in the lead up to graduation. If you’re thinking of doing the course, make the most of every single minute! It goes by far too quickly.” Shannon O’Shea (Grease, Fame, Carmen, Princess Cruises)

“ED5 International opened my eyes to what was expected of me as a professional dancer in terms of diversity, technique and performance. Coming from a small city in New Zealand, I was a little unaware of what was needed to succeed. Learning from the wide range of teachers at ED5, I could finally form a clear goal of where I wanted to be as a dancer before entering the professional world. It created a fire and a hunger that I didn't have before because I knew if I wanted to be successful, I would have to continue to push past my previous limitations to be strong enough to compete in the industry mentally, physically and emotionally.” Amy Van De Wetering (The Great Gatsby, Happy Feet Two, Princess Cruises)
