All pre-conditions for success are met. Now it is up to us that are present in the room:

the participant’s willingness to take responsibility by contributing and learning,

the sponsor’s willingness not to steer the discussions towards a pre-decided result,

the facilitator’s skill in supporting the work of the participants without interfering in it’s flow.

What’s expected from us in the room? What’s expected from us in the room?

Life is too short and precious to Life is too short and precious to squander in meaningless meetings.squander in meaningless meetings.

In order to maximize interactivity and creativity you will have the opportunity to work in different constellations each session.

You don’t need to achieve agreements. You don’t need to convince anybody of anything. You don’t need to refute anybody nor argue your position. Make your point and move on.

The best result is to create as rich a material as possible and to organize it in a meaningful way.

Instructions to participantsInstructions to participants

Gently keep focus on the issue. If the discussion goes astray, you may remind the participants that what they are talking about may be an issue to pose during Session 5.

When you go to the next table start with a short introduction to what’s been said at previous tables.

Write each point in a different paper (post-it). It is easier to organize later. If you can’t keep up or you don’t understand what a participant is saying, ask them to write their own proposals.

If somebody takes over the discussion by speaking lengthy without coming to the point, please use the universal sign of time-out.

When you come back to the original table, begin the organization of the material by clustering the different issues. Don’t rush. Probably you will go through a 10-20 minutes period of despair.
