The people of Greece are inseparably connected to the land. The landhelped form their cultures i.e. fishing, mountains

Ancient Greece was broken into CITY-STATES (countries the size ofcities)

Even though these city-states were separate they share the same languageand much ( NOT ALL) of the same culture and did have some unityagainst foreign threats

Christ was CRUCIFIED (RomanTradition) by Pontius Pilot (RomanGovernor) under Ceaser Augustus inabout 32ADIn the first century AD Apostles Peterand Paul brought the faith to Rome.

Talked about in the Biblical book of Romanswritten by PaulIn 64 AD both Peter and Paul wereMARTYRED by the religious persecution ofNERO Caesar

The faith continued to grow after their death.In 312 AD Christianity became the officialchurch of Rome.

It is said that Constantine, on his march toRome, saw a luminous cross in the sky, in theshape and with the motto here given. In thenight before the battle of Saxa Rubra a visionappeared to him in his sleep, commanding himto inscribe the cross and the motto on theshields of his soldiers. He obeyed the voice ofthe vision, and prevailed.
