of Nina Jain
Hello everyone, This month’s World Informo is labelled Special Edition. Why? Because this month we are celebrating all those wonderful students who scored top marks nationally in all 4 USO tests — UN Information, UNESCO, General Knowledge and GK Supplementary Tests. Cash prizes from USO were awarded to these students during their school assembly, photos of which have been shared on our facebook and other social media webpages. I am also very excited about USO’s 58th General Conference and All-India Schools Festival which is scheduled for September 25—28, 2017. The host school, Surya—The Global School, is located in Bachupally - Hyderabad, and they have a wonderful campus. This flagship event of USO gets very frequent enquiries from schools as it also teaches the students the significance of ideals such as national integration, peace, tolerance, unity in diversity, a name a few. Details on the Conference is on the next page. I humbly request schools who wish to participate, to kindly register for their USO membership. S. V. Public School was the first to respond to our ‘Quiz of Firsts’. The following page features an article submitted by them. Their motto ‘Knowledge is Power’, I am sure, will resonate with each of us. We had hosted the last Conference and All-India Schools Festival at their wonderful school, and it was the last conference organised by the Late Mrs. Aleyamma Jain, before her demise in January 2016. Once again, hearty congratulations to the participants, their teachers, their schools for the success they have had in our various tests. We are looking forward to several more years of collaboration from you all. Please renew your USO membership so we can mail you the membership kit at the soonest. The kit also includes details on several campaigns that USO is planning with our network of schools. Nina Jain Secretary General—USO

USO’s 57th General Conference and All India Schools Festival was held at S.V. Public School, Jaipur from October 16—19, 2015. Approximately 350 students and teachers from all over India participated over the 4-day Conference. The Conference was extremely successful under the able supervision of Mrs. Rita Taneja, Principal of S.V. Public School, and dynamism of Late Mrs. Aleyamma Jain, the then Secretary General of USO. Thank you once again Mrs. Rita Taneja.
It is the school endeavor’s to impart quality education to its students and to equip them with life skills to emerge as responsible global citizens.
Insight comes not with age, but with education and learning. We at S.V. Public School work on as motto “Knowledge Is Power”. We strive for holistic learning experience as the young minds are the nation builders. They are the agents of change. The knowledge that they gain, the fine qualities they imbibe and the skills that they learn will enable them to contribute towards the nation building.
S.V. Public School is engaged in plethora of school activities for all classes which leads to the all around development of children and makes them achieve their maximum potential.
By encouraging participation in various scholastic and co-scholastic activities the students are given ample opportunities to evaluate their skills and develop them further. And we at S.V Public School promises to continue this journey of excellence.

United Schools Organisation of India (USO), is one of the oldest non-governmental organisations in India. We have, since 1951, been involved in enhancing basic educational standard among schools in India, through the empowerment of students and educators. It is our mandate, to advance the social, cultural, and moral standards of school teachers and students across India to global standards. Since teachers build the foundation of every student during their forma-tive years at school, we believe that it is just as important to increase awareness in teachers as it is in students. Keeping this is mind, we organ-ise various activities for students and teachers that enable them to ex-tend themselves beyond the prescribed curricula. This helps them differ-entiate themselves as progressive all-rounders in this globally competitive environment. We conduct tests for students such as UN Information, General Knowledge and UNESCO Tests, and also hold seminars for teachers such as Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy (in collaboration with the Department of Atomic Energy), World Science Day (in collaboration with NISCAIR) to name a few. Our flagship event, All India Schools Festival, held every two years, helps promote National Integration by bringing students and teach-ers all-over India for a 4-day event.
