Developing effective thesis statements and topic sentences
Reflect on the presentations and answer the following questions:
1. Which presentation was the most memorable and why?
2. What do you think went well with your own presentation?
3. What would have made your presentation better?

Take out a piece of paper and put your name on it. Number the questions then respond.
1. What was your topic/issue for research?2. Write a thesis statement to reflect your opinion on the
topic. Feel free to manipulate the original question. Include your three reasons.
3. Write three topic sentences, one for each of your body paragraphs.
Have me check your arguments before proceeding to including evidence.
