TRANSCRIPT

  • Once a week event (Two if people are available). Ideal day to be taken via poll.

Basic concepts of games covered outlined below.

  • Introduction

This is my suggested training programme to help new players, or players who are wanting to improve.

I will look at reviewing this and I am open to all ideas and advice on how to improve this proposition.

  • Suggested support

    Reward for completing missions

    Tournament rewards (nose art/emblem/premium/consumables)

Set up of maps altered to help create slalom runs on maps to test routes, manoeuvres etc.

Link the training videos from the NA page etc.

learner emblem for newbie pilots like L plates for learner drivers to identify part of the training programme and then something that can illustrate various ranks as each training session is completed.

  • For the Trainers

Suggested method of delivery can be via stream/video. Or create a room and have people observe trainer.

Have a trainer on each team, observe a trainee and give feedback throughout/after fight and where to improve if required.

  • For the Trainee

Be open to criticism and advice.

Suggest looking over replays and evaluating play to request help from a trainer to help enhance a particular area of gameplay.

  • Before we Begin

Razer Comms for those too shy to speak, but are wanting help can message/leave message for people. Should help overcome voice comms issues and server hosting.

Suggested key bindings and joystick set-ups.

In game settings to be the best for you and get the most out of the game.

Go to the manoeuvre videos and enlighten yourself on basic and useful things.

  • Suggested lessons (Beginner)

Optimal game set up and different settings including using radar and key aspects of plane control.

Use of aiming reticule, distances of effective fire.

    Basic aerial manoeuvres

    Role of Light Fighters

    Role of Heavy Fighters

    Role of Ground attack aircraft

    Comparison lock indicator.

Cover the tech tree and what can be found on branches etc.

  • (Basic)

Different characteristics to look out for with aircraft statistics and importance of altitude.

    Individual nation tendencies of aircraft.

    Ammo types and uses.

Upgrades and Consumables what and when to use.

Difference in Boom n Zoom and Turn n Burn

  • Light Fighters

    Combat strategies.

    Engagement and evasive manoeuvring.

Suggested set up of aircraft and how they can alter the play style and upgrade routes.

Suggested routes on the maps and training dogfighting.

Possible tournament of 1v1,3v3 etc using select tier planes.

  • Heavy Fighter

    Combat strategies

    Engagement and evasive manoeuvring.

Suggested set up of planes and upgrading of modules.

Key concepts to get the best out of your Heavy Fighter (importance of BnZ).

    Discuss difference between nationality HF.

  • Ground Attack Aircraft (GAA)

Best way to engage ground targets. How to use bombs and rockets. How to get the best out of your tail gunner Key concepts to be an effective GAA Emergency action taken against enemies. Set up suggestions. Key point of checking up on bomb and rocket damage

for target kill. Slalom runs of ground attacks, present a replay of

follow the leader on attacking route for ground targets.

  • Advanced

Poll requested planes to feature in the next training.

Take polls of aircraft specifically to be focused on in terms of optimal set up, effective manoeuvring, consumables and possible upgrades.

Suggested areas to be covered specifically to be requested via a thread in the forum. Otherwise generic and more advanced aspects of the aircraft to be covered conventionally.

  • Time Scale

Week 1: Chance to speak to players to see what they would like to get out of it and suggest what week to join if they have certain areas already mastered. Will cover the basics of set-ups, tech trees.

Direct players to videos and tutorials available on the WoP EU and NA website.

Talk through ammo types, upgrades and consumables.

  • Time Scale 2 Week 2: Basics Training Room and trial run of BnZ

(energy usage and conservation) and TnB styles (increasing turn rate and optimal altitude importance). Basic Dogfights in training room trailing these out. (Conclude with tech tree branches and where they fall into these).

Week 3: Practice manoeuvres to engage in varying aircraft and optimal altitudes. Practice engaging and disengaging and enemy. Use of lock target and comparison of aircraft and monitoring situation around you (Radar). Emphasis on reticule leading and ranges of gun effectiveness.

  • Time Scale 3

    Week 3: Light fighters

Re-cover the tech tree and different light fighter tendencies.

Depending on player numbers for the tournaments and any trainers available to set up rooms and watch and give advice after the game.

  • Time Scale 4 Week 4: Heavy Fighters

Cover the requirement of discipline and patience. Half the fight in a HF is choosing the fight and making sure there is an escape without enemy pursuit where possible.

Practice BnZ, and discuss occasions when TnB may be appropriate.

Use training room bots to encourage practice and then flight in random games, providing cover where necessary but mostly giving live advice on how to use aircraft more efficiently.

  • Time Scale 5

Week 5: Ground Attack Aircraft Demonstrate/Instruct good practice in live games

such as flying below the group at 100-50 meter above the ground. Application of camouflage.

Practice rocket firing and bomb dropping, useful methods of getting ordinance on target.

Practice dogfighting/survival combat in GAA vs pursuers (Bomb traps, tail gunner positioning).

Practice taking out AA first and securing clear space and sometimes helping team fights by removing enemy AA below allies.

  • Time Scale 6

    Week 6:Poll aircraft

Collect poll results/personal requests of aircraft then discuss optimal set-ups, talk through comparisons and suggestions with player and what they want out the aircraft and what theyre used to.

  • Further ideas

If numbers are still there, or further requests.

    Further poll aircraft.

missions like from the squadron missions. Run something similar where trainees are encouraged to group up to fulfil and complete varying missions like assists or ace medals or getting so many ground target kills etc.

  • The End
