Mexico’s fishing industry is the third-largest on the American continent. The country produces some 2 million tons of fishing and aquaculture products a year valued at over 2 billion dollars. For six consecutive years, the sector has posted annual growth of 13%, a figure equivalent to twice the global average. Connecting North America with South America and the Atlantic with the Asia-Pacific region, Mexico serves as a strategic bridge between the world’s largest fishing and aquaculture industries.
Dynamic and highly competitive, the sector boasts a specialized business platform: World Seafood Industry (WSI), the only international B2B fishing and aquaculture fair in Mexico, which will open its doors in 2021 with an expo designed to meet the region’s specific needs.
WSI is a showcase for leading retailers and wholesalers in segments ranging from systems, technology, fishing and aquaculture equipment to food preparation and packaging processes, distribution and logistics, wholesale seafood products, sustainability and general services.
