The World of Automation

• Automation is concerned with a single task - launching a web server, configuring a web server, stopping a service.

• Orchestration is concerned with automating the execution of a workflow ( a process). A provisioning process is comprised of multiple tasks and involves multiple systems. Orchestration implies optimizing the process such that the steps have a higher degree of reuse across the organization.
