TENNESSEE YOUTH TRIP RETURNS: We praise God for the safe return of 100+ high school students and leaders who spent the past week THINKING, LOVING, LIVING, AND SERVING like Jesus in the impoverished area of the Smoky Mountains near Gatlinburg, TN.
CMC YOUTH DAY TRIP TO MICHIGAN’S ADVENTURE: 6th-12th graders, come with your friends to Michigan’s Adventure on Tuesday, July 18, 10am-8pm. $40 includes transportation, admission, & two meals. PASSION IN PRACTICE: In case you do not know, there are several opportunities to join others in doing what you love for the benefit of others. Do you love creation? Join Earthkeepers. Do you love working with fabric? Join Chemo Caps or the Quilters group. Do you like to knit? Join the OHOH Knitting group. Do you love reading? Join Serendipity, the Women’s Christian Fiction Book Cub. Do you love children or youth? Join the teams that lead them! The church fulfills its vocation as the people of God use what God has given them to build up the church and to bless the world. WHERE IS GOD TALKING TO ME? Six different woman will share on where she is hearing God speak. Together the group will dig into a wide selection of passages. Each week will be a “stand alone” lesson so come every week or when you can. This women’s study continues on Wednesdays through August 2 from 9:30-11am, in Room 167. Feel free to just show up!

“NEW” OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD “CHRISTMAS IN JULY” OPPORTUNITY: There is a great need for the following items that will be eventually be used at shoebox packing parties: plastic eggs + aquarium rock to make shakers, wooden clothespins, bar soap (sample or small), toothbrushes, balloons (helium-weight), small bouncy balls (at Walgreens-5 for $1), jump ropes, notebooks/paper, backpacks or drawstring bags, washcloths, coloring books, crayons, markers, pencils, combs or brushes, sunglasses, stuffed animals, gloves, flashlights, fingernail clippers, musical instruments, and Hacky-Sack balls. Drop the items into the labeled basket near the Welcome Kiosk no later than Sunday, July 30. IT’S ALL ABOUT REACHING KIDS WITH THE LOVE OF JESUS!
OPEN ARMS-CARE CLOSET (Food Pantry) NEW Needs: We are asking for pancake mix & syrup, canned fruit, brownie mix, baked beans/black beans, canned tuna & chicken, spaghetti sauce, dryer sheets, women's deodorant, paper towels, toilet paper, flour/sugar/oil. Please only collect the items on the list and then leave them in the Care Closet basket in the mixing area.
CROP WALK: THANK YOU to all those who walked or donated to CROP Walk 2017! The total amount given from CMC donations is $11,783. Way to go, CMC! You have helped many hungry people in need with your generosity, both locally and globally!
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM: If you are interested in joining CMC’s After School Program this year, there will be informational meetings at 10:30am and 11:45am on Sundays, July 23 and 30, in Room 167 in the Adult Wing. Contact [email protected] for questions and information.
VOLUNTEERS/ITEMS NEEDED FOR “READY, START, GO”: Christ Memorial and Central Wesleyan are teaming up to serve local elementary-age kids at the apartment complexes at Harbor Village, 287 W 40th Street, on Tuesdays and Meadow Lanes, 287 Meadow Lanes, on Thursdays. Volunteers middle-school age and up are needed to assist with lunch (12:00-12:30), reading with the kids (12:30-1:00), and then fun activities (1:00-2:00). Just show up when you can! BRING TWO LAWN CHAIRS WITH YOU WHEN YOU COME! Contact Doris at 796-3342 or [email protected] with questions. Needs for this new ministry are: books, sidewalk chalk, and bubbles which can be placed in the basket for READY, START, GO in the mixing area.

FREEZER MEALS: Our freezer meals are for those struggling with illness and find it difficult to make meals. You can help by picking up a container with a lid at the Welcome Kiosk. Follow the instructions and return it to the church office. Your meal will be a blessing to someone.
