    CALLTOWORSHIP(from Psalm 118) Luke Woodcoc

    One: O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;His steadfast love endures for ever!

    Many: Let those who fear the Lord say,His steadfast love endures for ever.

    One: With the Lord on my side I do not fear.What can mortals do to me?

    Many: It is better to take refuge in the LordThan to put confidence in mortals.

    One: Open to me the gates of righteousness,That I may enter through themAnd give thanks to the Lord.

    Many: This is the gate of the Lord;The righteous shall enter through it.

    One: This is the day that the Lord has made;All: Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

    I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,

    And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, andburied; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; heascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

    from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

    PREPARATIONFORWORSHIP

    Sunday, June 22, 2014

    We could copethe world could copewith a Jesus who ultimately remains a wonderfuidea inside his disciples' minds and hearts. The world cannot cope with a Jesus who comout of the tomb, who inaugurates God's new creation right in the middle of the old one.

    - N. T. Wright

    What God says is best, indeed is best, though all men in the world are against it. Seeing,then, that God prefers his religion; seeing God prefers a tender conscience; seeing they thmake themselves fools for the kingdom of heaven are wisest; and that the poor man thatloveth Christ is richer than the greatest man in the world that hates him: Shame, depart,thou art an enemy to my salvation.

    -John Bunyan

    For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love aof self-discipline.

    - 2 Timothy 1:7
