“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” - Jesus, from the Sermon on the Mount
SonQuest registration money is due TODAY to Corey Stumne. Checks should be made out to SJCC.
Good Morning, Guests!
Thank you so much for choosing to worship with us today! Please fill out the enclosed attendance and response sheet.
A vital part of our worship assembly is our “Celebration of Communion.” It is a time of remembering all that Jesus has done for us in His sacrifice on the cross. We do this every Sunday, just like Jesus’ followers did some 2000 years ago. We will also collect an offering. We do not expect you to participate in our offering, but you are welcome to do so if you choose.
If you would like to know more about the San Jose Church of Christ, feel free to visit our Welcome Center, located in the foyer. We also invite you to visit our website, www.sjcc.us.

What Our Children are Learning Today in Galilee
OBEDIENCE Trusting those who lead you by doing what you’re asked to do.
MEMORY VERSE “Trust in your leaders. Put yourselves under their authority. Do this, because they keep watch over you.” Hebrews 13:17a, NIrV BIBLE STORY Abraham Follows God Genesis 12:1-5, 13:2-18, 15:1-6 BOTTOM LINE I should trust and obey even if I don’t know how it will all work out. MEAL TIME Ask a child: Do you think your parent was an obedient child or always getting in trouble? Why do you think that? Ask a parent: What was the most creative consequence you received as a child for disobedience? Share the age-appropriate story that led to the consequence
Prayer Requests and Praises
Connie Kersey had a hard fall. She is at St Vincent’s with a brain bleed. Janice Williams’ stem cell treatments are working as planned. This has been a tough week for her. Pray for minimal side effects and a quick recovery. She would greatly appreciate CARDS at this time since she is “in lockdown”, meaning she can’t leave her floor. Her address is: UF Shands Cancer Hospital Patient Janice Williams, Room: 7102 1600 SW Archer Road Gainesville, FL 32610 If you are interested in doing more, please contact Cassie Ice.
Thank You Thank you church, for your prayers, cards, food, visits and calls in the loss of my mother, Adele Pence. The flowers were beautiful! Our family is humbled by the outpouring of love, and so appreciative of our church family. It’s hard to know how others can endure without this kind of support! My mother included this at the end of a biography she was writing for our family, but it also reminds us of the role you all play so well in the lives of others: “God sends us into this world, sweet, innocent and full of joy. During the course of our lives we usually find that daily cares and sorrows dull, somewhat, that joy in life. It is my wish that you all might rekindle that joy and share it as an encouragement to those who have lost
theirs…” Ken (and Marsha) Pence

Family Needed for Ministry Training Video! Our worship ministry is producing an instructional video for future com-munion prep servants, and we need a family to star in the project! Here’s what you need to know: We need one family (children are welcome) We will be shooting your whole family working together as well as
close-ups of some of your hands. Video shooting will happen on the SJCC campus in both the
communion prep room and FLC kitchen. This will require about 4-6 hours of your time. We will schedule the
day to make the video around your family’s schedule. Our worship ministry is sponsoring up to 2 free basic manicures, snacks, and a meal to the family we select. Please contact Dave Berry at [email protected] to submit your interest in the project.
