WelcomeWe are very glad to have you worshiping our gracious God with us today.

Flowers The sanctuary flowers are given today to the glory of God in Thankfulness.

Lisa B. Wilson, organ; John L. Wilson, piano

To Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org.

Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An elder will be standing next to the pastor following the service.

Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Several kiosks are available in the Welcome Center. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available if you need assistance checking in.

Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-k through fourth grade during the morning services. A leader will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms during the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Parents of children in pre-k through second grade are asked to pick up their children following Sunday School or the 11 a.m. worship service.

Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We also provide a Mother/Infant Room located beside Nursery 1 which is equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.

Additional Seating Additional seating for morning and evening worship services is available each week in St. Andrew’s Hall.

As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

†The Call to Worship ....................................................................... from Psalm 36:5-9Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.

Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep.

How precious is your steadfast love, O God! Your children take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

We feast on the abundance of your house and drink from the river of your delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.

The Lord be with you.And with your spirit.Let us worship God!

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace;Where there is hatred, let me sow love;Where there is injury, pardon;Where there is doubt, faith;Where there is despair, hope;Where there is sadness, joy!

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seekTo be consoled, as to console; To be understood as to understand; To be loved, as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; It is in dying that we are born to eternal life!

(Sung by all)Shepherd of tender youth, guiding in love and truthThrough devious ways; Christ our triumphant King,We come thy Name to sing and here our children bringTo join thy praise.

Ever be thou our guide, our shepherd and our pride,Our staff and song; Jesus, thou Christ of God,By thine enduring Word lead us where thou hast trod,Make our faith strong.

So now, and till we die, sound we thy praises highAnd joyful sing; infants and the glad throngWho to thy church belong, unite to swell the songTo Christ, our King.

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

The Assurance of Pardoning Grace .......................................from Ephesians 5:23-27Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, we acknowledge and confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed; we have not loved our neighbor as ourselves. Deepen within us our sorrow for the wrong we have done, and the good we have left undone. Lord, you are full of compassion and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in mercy; there is always forgiveness with you! Restore to us the joy of your salvation; bind up that which is broken, give light to our minds, strength to our wills, and rest to our souls. Speak to each of us, and let your word abide with us until it has worked in us your holy will. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

*†The PeaceThe peace of the Lord be with you always.

And also with you.

Amy Patton, soloNicholas Brucker, violin

Ah, turn me not away; receive me, though unworthy!Hear thou my cry; behold, Lord, my distress!Answer me from thy throne,Haste thee Lord to mine aid;Thy pity show in my deep anguish!

Let not the sword of vengeance smite me,Though righteous thine anger, O Lord!Shield me in danger; on thee Lord, alone will I call.

O Divine Redeemer, I pray thee,Grant me pardon and remember not my sins!Forgive me, O Divine Redeemer;I pray thee, grant me pardon And remember not, O Lord, my sins!

Night gathers round my soul;Fearful, I cry to thee.Come to mine aid, O Lord!Haste thee Lord, haste to help me!Hear my cry! Come and save me, O Lord!

O Divine Redeemer, I pray theeGrant me pardon and remember not my sins!Save in the day of retribution; From death, shield thou me, O my God!O Divine Redeemer, have mercy;Help me, my Savior!
