WelcomeWe are very glad to have you worshiping our gracious God with us today.

To Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org.

Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An elder will be standing next to the pastor following the service.

Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Several kiosks are available in the Welcome Center. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available if you need assistance checking in.

Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-k through fourth grade during the morning services. A leader will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms during the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Parents of children in pre-k through second grade are asked to pick up their children following Sunday School or the 11 a.m. worship service.

Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We also provide a Mother/Infant Room located beside Nursery 1 which is equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.

Additional Seating Additional seating for morning and evening worship services is available each week in St. Andrew’s Hall.

As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

†The Invocation (Please lift hands)

Q. 29 Why is the Son of God called “Jesus,” meaning “savior”?

Because he saves us from our sins. Salvation cannot be found in anyone else; it is futile to look for any salvation elsewhere.

Q. 31 Why is he called “Christ,” meaning “anointed”?

Because he has been ordained by God the Father and has been anointed with the Holy Spirit to be our chief prophet and teacher who perfectly reveals to us the secret counsel and will of God for our deliverance, our only high priest who has set us free by the one sacrifice of his body, and who continually pleads our cause with the Father; and our eternal king who governs us by his Word and Spirit, and who guards us and keeps us in the freedom he has won for us.

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

The Assurance of Pardoning Grace ............................................... Hebrews 10:19-23

Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

The Corporate Confession of Sin

O God, have mercy on us according to your steadfast love and abundant mercy. We would be holy, but sin keeps getting in our way. We do not always trust you. We are often afraid that if we follow your ways we will miss something; as a result, we have rebelled against your wisdom and followed our own devices. Like fools, we have despised wisdom and instruction and have rejected your fatherly guidance. We continually transgress your commandments, failing to do what you have commanded, and doing that which you have expressly forbidden. But you have imputed our sin to Jesus, our substitute; you have imputed his righteousness to our souls. Our many sins present our consciences with a long list of accusations, but they shall not stand! For we lay them all now on Christ, our sacrifice and advocate. Forgive us and cleanse us we pray. Amen.

The Offertory—Christmas Medley ..................................................................Wilson(Sung by all)Hark, the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King;Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!"Joyful, all ye nations, rise, join the triumph of the skies; With the angelic host proclaim, "Christ is born in Bethlehem!"Hark, the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King!"Hark, the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King!

O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie;Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by.Yet in thy dark streets shineth the everlasting Light; The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight!

Emmanuel, Emmanuel, his name is called Emmanuel;God with us, revealed in us; his name is called Emmanuel.

O holy night, the stars are brightly shining; It is the night of our dear Savior's birth.Long lay the world in sin and error pining, Till he appeared and the soul felt its worth.A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.

Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices!O night divine, O night when Christ was born!O night, O holy night, O night divine!Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices!O night divine, O night when Christ was born!O night, O holy night, O night divine!
