Welcome
Flowers The sanctuary flowers are given today to the glory of God and
with great thanksgiving that His steadfast love continues through all generations. Psalm 100:5
The King’s Brass Tim Zimmerman, director
To Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org. You can also visit our welcome desk in the Welcome Center, located directly behind the sanctuary.
Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An Elder and his wife will be standing next to the pastor following the service to talk or pray with you.
Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Kiosks are available in the Narthex and in the Children’s Lobby. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available to assist you.
Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-K through fourth grade during the morning services. Leaders will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms during the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Children in pre-K through second grade remain in their classrooms until they are picked up by a parent.
Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We provide a Mother/Infant Room (room 160) located in the Ebenezer Building behind the sanctuary, and the Geneva Room is designated as a cry room for parents with fussy children. Both rooms are equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.
Additional Seating Additional seating for morning and evening worship services is available each week in St. Andrew’s Hall.
As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

Theme: Our Father in Heaven
The Prelude—Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah ................................. arr. Paul Manz
†The Call to Worship ....................................................................... Ephesians 3:14-18Come and kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.
From his glorious riches he may strengthen us with power through his Spirit so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith.
And being rooted and established in love, together with all the Lord’s holy people,
May we grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.
The Lord be with you.And with your spirit.Let us worship God!
Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;Naught be all else to me, save that thou art.Thou my best thought by day or by night,Waking or sleeping, thy presence my light. High King of Heaven, my victory won,May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,Still be my vision, O Ruler of all!

(Sung by all)Children of the heav’nly Father Safely in his bosom gather;Nestling bird nor star in heavenSuch a refuge e’er was given.
Neither life nor death shall everfrom the Lord his children sever;unto them his grace he showeth, and their sorrows all he knoweth.
Though he giveth or he taketh,God his children ne’er forsaketh; His the loving purpose solelyTo preserve them pure and holy.

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
The Assurance of Pardoning Grace .........................................................1 John 2:1, 2My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.
Heavenly Father, we tremble at the recognition of our unworthiness, but find comfort because you have given us your Son, Jesus Christ to be our advocate and mediator. Because of Christ, the throne of dreadful glory has become the throne of grace. Father, you are overflowing with so much affection for your children and so ready to forgive that we approach you, fully persuaded that you have no other feelings toward us than those of a father, though we are unworthy of such a father. We acknowledge before your holy majesty that we are poor sinners, prone to do evil, unable of our own power to do good. With heartfelt sorrow we repent and turn away from all our offenses. We condemn ourselves and our evil ways, with true sorrow asking that your grace relieve our distress. Grant us daily increase of the grace of your Holy Spirit, and produce in us the fruits of holiness and righteousness pleasing in your sight, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For the cause of Christ the KingWe give our lives, an offering’Til all the earth resounds with ceaseless praise To the Son For the cause of Christ we goWith joy to reap, with faith to sowAs many see and many put their trustIn the Son Christ we proclaim, The Name above every name:For all creation, ev’ry nation,God’s salvation through the Son! For the King once lifted highTo cries of rage, of ‘crucify!’Endured the crossAs every sin was laid on the Son To the King who conquered deathTo free the poor and the oppressedFor lasting peace, for life and liberty In the Son Let it be my life’s refrain:To live is Christ, to die is gain;Deny myself, take up my crossAnd follow the Son
