This paper will also highlight the important aspects of the applications and will enlighten its working environment. The usage of three dimensional photography will also be discussed with regards to the wound treatment. The paper will briefly highlight the importance of medical professionals in using such applications.

1. IntroductionWith the advent of information technology, the world became global village. Further

advancement in technology brought smart phones to everyone. These smart phones are a

fine source of communication and whole digital world is now confined to your palm or your

desk through smart phones, tablets and laptops.

2. Mobile apps for Wound Care and ManagementAs other fields, it brought great innovation to medical field also, today, your physician can

monitor your blood pressure and blood glucose live at his home without physically meeting

you in hospital. There are many mobile applications developed for wound care and

management, some famous apps are MOWA, Wound care app, Wound central, Wound right,

Smith & Nephew wound apps etc (Ralph Peter Braun et al., 2005).

2.1 Mobile Wound Analyzer (MOWA)According to its description available at Google play, it claims anyone can become an expert

in less than 3 minutes in treating ulcer. It is designed for treating the pressure ulcers,

vascular, diabetics and other diseases. It is a very useful tool for health professionals to

heal wounds. It carries the CE mark with it as it fulfills the essential requirement of

Directive 93/42/EEC. It is not dangerous as it does not make contact with the patients

(Wang et al., 2013).

2.2 Wound Care AppWound care application is designed for medical professional, it guides those professionals

in dressing certain wounds. It shows human body and suggest the type of dressing suitable

for that particular part of the body. It suggest dressing according to the location, condition

and depth of the wound. The user can also apply certain filters to specifically select the

scenario e.g. wet or dry surface. It also provides description to the general dressing types.

This application is specifically designed to assist Surgeons, phsysio-therapists, nurses and

internists (Ozarkar, 2013).

3. Use of Three Dimensional (3D) Photography in Complex-Wound AssessmentAs the 3D televisions arrived in the market, medical field also got benefitted from 3D

photography which is used mainly for the distant patients treatment. Most common

treatment is witnessed in or around battle fields for soldiers who get injured and

sometimes severally injured. Photos are taken in the battle fields or the army camps using

3D cameras and sent to the hospitals, 3D camera as compared to 2D camera give better

view of the wounds, hence more appropriate procedure and dressing can be suggested

even from thousand miles away (Jeffrey, 2013).

4. ConclusionThe tools mentioned above are recommended for professionals and any use by amateur

may cause serious damages to the patients, therefore it is highly recommended that these

tools are to be used by medical professionals and medical practitioners. These tools are

though very much helpful but cannot be always right therefore professional skepticism

must be applied while dealing with such tools.
