SHORT-TERM MISSION PROJECT OPPORTUNITY AT CHERRY RUN CAMP Cherry Run Camp seeks volunteers to help the week prior to camp, July 24-July 28, to clean and prepare the grounds and buildings for the many campers who will be attending this year's camp. Work one day or as many as you are able.Volunteers also needed to assist the camp cook in preparing and serving meals. Individual volunteers or a team of four are needed each day to assist the cook. RUCK THE BAY A 15K Military-Style Ruck March/Walk in honor of our local fallen heroes and to end Veteran homelessness. It will take place on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017 with Registration at 1 pm with the Ruck starting at 2 pm at Presque Isle State Park, Beach 11, Erie. Online registration will begin July 1.Proceeds from the event will benefit Erie United Methodist Alliance’s (EUMA) Liberty House, the only transitional housing program in Erie County specifically for homeless Veterans. The house is a safe haven for the men who protected our freedom and are now in need of a new beginning. Ruck the Bay participants will complete the 15K (or optional 5K) carrying a loaded rucksack/backpack, and will observe memorials at every kilometer honoring those who have lost their lives in service to our country.
