PacerPoints
PacerPoints are declining balance dollars that can be used at Peace Perk
and Belk Dining Hall. PacerPoints work just like a debit card - make a
purchase and the total is subtracted from the balance in your account.
PacerPoints will roll over from the fall to spring semester, but will expire
at the end of the spring semester.

1. Can I have a car on campus?
All students have the opportunity to bring cars to campus. Students
are required to register their cars with the Office of Public Safety and
purchase a parking permit each year. However, having a car is not
necessary. Many restaurants, grocery stores, and various other off-
campus activities are all within walking distance of campus.
2. Do I need to bring a computer?
There are computers in the library for students to use. We do
encourage students to bring a computer and recommend the
following:
PC minimums
CPU Intel Core i5 or equivalent
System RAM 4Gb
Windows 7 or better
Microsoft Office 2010 or better
Antivirus software required
Mac minimums

Washers and dryers are available for student use in Frazier, Finley,
and Ross. The laundry facilities are free of cost. Also, you can use our
texting system to be notified when your clothes have finished washing
or drying.
FREE TRANSPORTATION DOWNTOWNThe R-Line is an eco-friendly bus that transports you around
downtown for FREE. The bus runs every 10-15 minutes. There is a bus
stop conveniently located at the corner of William Peace University
for you to take downtown. This bus connects you to museums,
restaurants, retail, hotels, and entertainment venues. For more
information on the R-Line check out this website:

making Your room homeYYou are moving into a room, with a great new roommate! There are plenty of ways to get creative with your room and make it feel like home!
ILLUMINATIONBring something to soften the overhead fluorescent lights. In addition to desk lamps, a floor lamp would do the trick.
FURNITUREYour room already comes furnished with a desk, desk chair, bed, dresser and closet. If you are planning to bring extra furniture, think small and think vertical.
ACCESSORIESSome things that you don’t want to leave at home are those little de-tails that can really make your room feel like home. A favorite picture, stuffed animal or clock might do the trick.
WALLSYou can add some quick and inexpensive color to walls by hanging posters. Most rooms also have a cork strip around the perimeter that can be used. Think of new ways to hang things, many of our students have used blue painters tape. Remember that you can also use white or gray poster putty to hang items on the walls.
CLUTTERTry not to bring everything you own. Think of creative ways to store your things in an organized way. Try buying storage compartments that can be stacked easily in the closet. Think seasonally, don’t bring your whole wardrobe.
