“What’s REALLY Going ON” A magazine to promote MJ Global Events/Projects

And Other World News

Time for your Light to Shine

REMOVING THE JUNK FROM THE COMMUNITY TRUNK

~In A World Filled With Hate - We must Emulate L.O.V.E.~

The purpose of this magazine is to provide the audience with specialized information from a unique

community; dedicated to and built upon the Love and Light of Michael Jackson as well as some others who

are making a difference.

We bring you this material by way of groups and projects inspired by Michael Jackson, other artists and

news sources.

This magazine will be dedicated to those projects with undertakings that build up the community; and actual-

ly possess the healing and light properties needed to

help change a world filled with darkness and a com-

munity that has become divided because of different

views.

We wish to provide the Community Trunk with infor-

mation about new and delightful support projects.

There has been too much “Junk” in the old trunk and

it is time we start anew by peeling away the old and

rotted garbage and building a new community. Some

old things we should keep because they are precious

and should be preserved.

We hope you will be a part of the solution and not the

problem.

There should be no room for old junk in a new trunk. The things of no value has been thrown away to make

room for the new. We wish to be an avenue to the beautiful things and truth going forward by sharing those

things in this magazine when possible. We want to appeal to the rooted fans as well as the innovative.

THOSE LITTLE THINGS THAT GIVE MEANING TO LIFE

An old saying in my language states that all of us, more or less, complain having on our shoulders heavy burdens. Though, if everyone would bring its bundles in square where we are living for a possible exchange, at the end each of us would resume its own. Our focus and our interests are almost always caught on news stories or stories of life with prominent people as protagonists. This time, however, we want to remember a simple person, weak and perhaps a bit special because his suffering gives us the opportunity to reflect on the meaning of life; and invites us to review our scale of values. We'll call him John. At the age of eight months he had to deal with two dangerous diseases, one of them indelible: polio and meningitis that would mark his life forever. Later, as if all this were not enough, the fate and a "mysterious Will" spared him further misfortune: the untimely death of some of his close family and numerous other dis-eases. In a world that brings success, social climbing and athleticism, John represent the fragility and pre-cariousness of life. There is not a democratic distribution of the pain. The suffering, in fact, moves in anarchic form and knocks you for no reason. In this regard I remember the sentence pronounced by some guys during a survey made recently on the young-faith relationship. The statement was this: "How can God exist with all the pain we see around?" It is a strong question, especially when illness affects an innocent and looks like a culprit not even exist. It is almost impossible with our limited rational capacity to find a convincing answer. Our actual society, focused on the frantic search for happiness on earth, is ready to remove God from their path if it cannot exorcise the pain and the adversity. For many of us it is difficult to broaden our horizon to "hear” the good that exists beyond our human history confines. So we are concerned, as we should be, to improve the quality of our existence, but in the meantime, we forget to give a meaning to life. Sometimes, though, it is the most humble and disadvantaged people that convey to us positive messages, loads of values, meaning and, in their own way, teach us to love life. This is the case of John who could be content, cheerful and serene with very little, unlike “modern man” prone to lamentations and, too often, angry with the world. For him it was enough to receive a smile, enjoy a coffee or improvise with his beloved har-monica to light up even the grayest day. He loved being around people, to whom he could offer moments of good humor and laughs, undoubtedly significant, given the times we live in. Sitting for hours and hours in front of the bakery shop, he greeted any-one passing in front of him by adding jokingly, the nickname. Meeting him, then, was rewarding because it allowed him to give and receive in a web of mutual solidarity. Now no one can prevent us from thinking that John, free from the physical ballast, is in some corner of Para-dise intent to cheer the other guests with the notes of his extemporaneous inseparable "spinet". Yes, death cannot steal from us the hope of another life and the prospect of enjoying, at last, all the joy.

In Remembrance of the 57th Birthday

of the Billy Jean Hitmaker

Michael J. Jackson

The Billy Jean Story

This song is about a girl who claimed that Jackson

was the father of her child. Jackson based it on a

woman who used to stalk him, writing him letters

about a son she thought was his. Jackson rarely

spoke about this woman, but he had a very hard

time dealing with this unwanted attention, and he

became more reclusive as a result. The song was

his way of expressing his feelings without address-

ing her directly.

While Jackson didn't give many details about the

real Billie Jean, his producer Quincy Jones said

that Jackson found the woman one day lounging by

his pool with a bathing suit and sunglasses on. Ac-

cording to Jones, she accused Jackson of being

the father of one of her twins, which Jones thought

was pretty funny.

In his autobiography Moonwalk, Jackson said that

Quincy Jones wanted to change the title to “Not My

Lover” because he thought it would be confused

with the tennis star Billie Jean King. Jackson ended

up winning that battle.

Michael Jackson says about this song

in Moonwalk, "A musician knows hit material. It has

to feel right. Everything has to feel in place. It fulfills

you and it makes you feel good. You know it when

you hear it. That's how I felt about 'Billie Jean.' I

knew it was going to be big while I was writing it. I

was really absorbed in that song. One day during a

break in a recording session I was riding down the

Ventura Freeway with Nelson Hayes, who was

working with me at the time. 'Billie Jean' was going

around in my head and that's all I was thinking

about. We were getting off the freeway when a kid

on a motorcycle pulls up to us and says, 'Your car's

on fire.' Suddenly we noticed the smoke and pulled

over and the whole bottom of the Rolls-Royce was

on fire. That kid probably saved our lives. If the car

had exploded, we could have been killed. But I was

so absorbed by this tune floating in my head that I

didn't even focus on the awful possibilities until lat-

er."

According to Rolling Stone magazine's Top 500

songs, Jackson came up with the song's rhythm

track on his home drum machine and nailed the

vocals in one take.

This won the 1983 Grammy Award for Best Rhythm

& Blues Vocal Performance and Best Rhythm &

Blues Song for the writer Michael Jackson.

The video for this song is often credited with break-

ing the color barrier on MTV, which debuted August

1, 1981. The clip for "Pass The Dutchie" by Musical

Youth was the first video by a black act to make

regular rotation on the network, but they were con-

sidered a novelty, with no member older than 16.

Jackson's "Billie Jean" video was the first to make

heavy rotation, and more black faces started ap-

pearing on the network soon after, notably Prince.

MTV was accused of racism in this era, notably by

Rick James, whose "Super Freak" clip was rejected

by the network. MTV was programmed by guys

with radio backgrounds who tried to program it like

a radio station with a rock format, something that

proved impossible because they didn't have

enough videos by rock artists. What they did have

were lots of European acts (like Musical Youth

10

who had been making videos for years, and were

overwhelmingly white. Record companies wouldn't

budget for videos by their black artists since they

didn't think MTV would play them, so the network

could make the argument that they simply didn't

have any good videos by black artists that were

worthy. That argument went out the window when

Jackson made the "Billie Jean" video, which was

startlingly innovative, and a precursor to the video

game Dance Dance Revolution, as some scenes

showed Jackson performing his dance moves by

stepping on squares as they would light up.

Despite the production value and Jackson's star

quality, MTV didn't play the video until the song was

already a #1 hit. Les Garland, who ran the network

at the time, claims that they loved the video and

played it as soon as they could, but interviews with

executives at Jackson's record company and with

others familiar with the matter suggest otherwise. In

the book I Want My MTV, multiple sources who

worked at MTV claimed that the network wanted to

air the "Beat It" video first, because Eddie Van

Halen played on it and the song fit their format. Wal-

ter Yetnikoff, who was head of CBS Records

(Jackson's was signed to its subsidiary, Epic), re-

calls threatening to pull all CBS videos from MTV if

they didn't play "Billie Jean." He says he threatened

to bring Jackson's producer Quincy Jones in on it as

well, and the network acquiesced. When MTV start-

ed playing the clip, it was first put in medium rota-

tion, then promoted to heavy rotation when viewers

loved it. When the video for "Beat It" was delivered,

that one also went into hot rotation. For a two month

stretch in the summer of 1983, both videos were

getting constant airplay, establishing Jackson as a

video star. His next video effort was for "Thriller,"

which revolutionized music videos.

This was the second of seven US top 10 hits from

the Thriller album. "The Girl Is Mine" was released

before this one, since it had the star power of Paul

McCartney, who sang with Jackson on the track.

The video showcased Jackson's signature dance

moves that he became famous for. His talents as a

dancer helped make him a huge concert draw and a

star on MTV. High-energy dancing was a huge part

of his act, and artists like New Kids on the Block and

his sister Janet followed his lead and made dance

moves as big a part of their shows as singing. This

trend continued as groups like *NSYNC and The

Backstreet boys followed suit. Jackson choreo-

graphed the dance moves himself.

On the 1983 TV special 25 Years Of Motown, Jack-

son did The Moonwalk for the first time while perform-

ing this song. This was also the first time Jackson

wore his famous white glove on stage - at the time it

was a modified golf glove.

Jackson shot a Pepsi commercial in 1984 performing

this with the lyrics altered to sing the praises of the

soda. During the shoot, his hair caught fire from the

pyrotechnics and he was rushed to the hospital. The

commercial aired on the Grammy awards.

The UPC code on

the album cover

contained 7 digits

that were rumored

to be Jackson's tel-

ephone number.

People with that

number in many

different area codes

got swamped with

annoying calls.

This inspired an "answer song" - Lydia Murdock's

1983 disco hit "Superstar." In "Superstar," Murdock

adopts the persona of Billie Jean, telling her side of

the story. No word on if Jackson ever heard it.

Patma Fan Art

Excellent writer and wonderful artist,

Patma is a great friend and

Michael Jackson lover. Definitely

born with a pencil in her hands, even

when she talk on the telephone she

needs to draw something. She could

never make her passion a

profession, but…never say never (we

add)…For the time being it's a hobby,

it’s escapism from daily life. She

started drawings of MJ a couple of

summers ago; she wanted to feel

part of the wonderful “Jacksons

show". After a while she wished to

pay homage to Michael, in her little

way, revisiting his career and

personal life. Generally the drawings

are executed with pencil, then

scanned and colored using a PC, but

many are also made with watercolor

crayons and they are the ones that

she loves the most, even though they

take longer to complete. For Patma,

Michael is now and forever, 10 to

infinite power.

FLOWERS FOR MICHAEL” is a FB Group

that started in May 2010 under the name

“Sunflowers for Michael” by Sandy & Seven,

two amazing ladies who the members of the

group then and now are forever grateful to.

Just like Sandy, Silvily …. who now runs the

group, dedicates her soul and love to ensure

that Michael is surrounded by his fans’ eter-

nal LOVE through all the beautiful flowers,

handmade amazing cards, loving poems,

stunning art and other sweet things that are

sent with love to the P.O. Box from all over

the world.

The first years, there were flowers sent from

the group weekly to be placed inside Holly

Terrace at FL, then monthly and for the last

2 years at bigger occasions like anniver-

saries and holidays. Nowadays everyone

orders their own flowers through the Forest

Lawn Flower shop for an agreed-on date

and Michael can still be surrounded by

beautiful flowers and tokens of love.

For fans living far away this is an amazing

way to honor and show their love for Mi-

chael. Even if there is a dream of coming to

visit in person, so many may never be able to and this is maybe the closest they will come.

Just like Sandy, Silvily always takes the most amazing photos that she posts in the “Flowers for Mi-

chael” group on FB so the members can see them whenever they want. Michael has touched our

soul and hearts and this is a beautiful way to give back a little and also show the world that he will

never be forgotten.

His Legacy will live on through his fans who wants nothing more than to shower him with the LOVE

he planted in them.

SEE PART 1 - THE MEETING

IN JUNE ISSUE OF MAGAZINE - PAGE 18

On Wednesday, 18 June, I woke up at about 8:45

a.m. so it means that after all, I did sleep at least a little

bit. As soon as I woke up my thought went to Michael,

upstairs, in his suite, and I wondered whether he was

still sleeping or not, and I wished him “Good morning

Sweetheart”, I stayed in bed for about other 10 minutes,

just lying in bed, thinking and recalling what had hap-

pened last night, and I still could not believe it had REAL-

LY happened to me. I had discovered a Michael

Jackson totally different from the person I thought he

was, and that I expected him to be, and I would have

NEVER, EVER, believed that he could be such a down

to earth, approachable, and humble person!

Our Italian artists, either singers or actors, they are totally

unapproachable, and they think they are God on earth,

and if they grant you an autograph, it is the only thing that

you can ever manage to get from them, and when they

grant you an autograph they think they have given you

gold! Michael, who was a Superstar of that calibre, was

so humble, so sweet, and such an approachable and

down to earth human being, that I was totally surprised,

bewildered and astonished. I still remembered his scent,

he had a particular and sweet scent, and I kept on think-

ing. – “I don’t want to wash myself anymore, I want to

wear his scent for the rest of my life” – It was like a dream

to me. Then I got up and definitely, I did not take a

shower!

I did not feel like going downstairs, to the Hotel Restau-

rant that morning to have breakfast, so I ordered my

breakfast to be brought to me in my room. Today it was

“Concert Day”, so I turned the television on, just to see

whether they would have said something about that, and

while I was having my breakfast I followed the news on

television, and in the news, in fact, they showed Michael’s

return from Modena, and the TV reporter said¨- “There is

a great expectation for tonight Michael Jackson’s “HIStory

Tour Concert”, and the only Concert of the Singer, in

Milan, is totally sold out.

Michael Jackson, who is literally getting Milan crazy, last

night, on his return to Milan, was welcomed back by a

candlelight vigil of his diehard devoted fans, who were

waiting for him, outside the “Principe Di Savoia” Ho-

tel, on his return from Modena, where the Singer attended

to the Three Tenors Charity Concert, as guest of honour.

Michael Jackson greeted his fans outside the Hotel, and

then, once he entered the Hotel, he wanted to meet with

some lucky fans who are staying at the Hotel, and who

have filled him with presents”. - When I heard these

words, I said to myself: - “Hey, they are talking about our

last night meeting with Michael. How the hell do they

know about that, who told them?!” - Then the TV reporter

went on saying: - “Today, day of the Concert, Michael

Jackson won’t move from the “Principe Di Savoia” Hotel,

crowded and besieged by hundreds and hundreds of fans,

and he will stay all day in his hotel suite. Many fans are by

now, already moving to the G. Meazza Stadium, where

tonight, Michael Jackson will get on the huge stage and

will give to his public two hours of great music.

Michael Jackson, who arrived in Italy on Monday, June

16, is constantly followed, whenever he ventured out of

the Hotel, by a tireless army of admirers who seem ready

to do anything to see him closer”. - When I heard the TV

reporter say that many fans were already moving to the

Stadium, that early in the morning, I thought to myself that

I’d better get to the Stadium very early myself, if I wanted

to get a proper seat close to the stage. So I turned the

television off, put some make-up on, as always, and I got

dressed. I did not see my friends around, maybe they

were still sleeping, as we had been with Michael

until very late last night, I had no idea where they

48

could possibly be, probably still sleeping, so I did not both-

er about them, I left them alone, and I went my way.

I had left my car in the parking lot of the Hotel, because

the traffic in Milan is really crazy and chaotic, and the sub-

way is a great way to get around Milan, it is easy to use

and a stop was just at the Hotel’s door step. So I went out

of the Hotel, and by subway I reached the G. Meazza Sta-

dium. I walked into the Stadium and saw people queuing at

the main gate, so I went over and joined the queue. When

I got in the Stadium I saw a stall that sold sandwiches and

drinks, and as I did not want to leave the queue to go to a

restaurant to eat something, not to lose my place in the

queue, I bought a couple of sandwiches and two cans of

coke and a bottle of mineral water, and that would have

been my lunch and dinner that day. The crowd was getting

bigger and bigger, as time went by, and I thought that it

would have been very difficult to find my friends, among

that huge crowd, and I really wondered whether we would

have managed to find each other. While I was in the

queue, waiting for the time when the gates were due to be

opened, I found myself among people, who were all

Michael’s fans, headed for the same Concert, and it really

felt like a large “family outing”, and I was happily chatting

with total strangers who I felt as though I had known for

years.

Huge crowds had gathered outside the G. Meazza Stadi-

um of Milan, and by early afternoon there were 15 deep

queues in some places, with a crescendo of whistles as

gates were about to be opened. Gates eventually were

opened an hour early to deal with the rush, the responsibil-

ity for the fans then passing to private internal security staff

inside the G. Meazza Stadium. So when at 4:30 p.m. the

gates opened, I sprinted towards the gates, and people

behind me started pushing me forwards; normally, I am a

non-pushy person, I am a polite person, but I soon learned

how to be rude. This time, here in Milan, the pushing was

more violent than in 1992 in Rome, and I had a hard time

staying up front, but somehow, becoming rather rude, I

managed to get in front of the stage and get a seat in the

front row, so I really had a fabulous view of the stage, and I

was very satisfied. This was really what I wanted, to be

close to the stage, to enjoy the Concert and be able to see

Michael closer. There were some people on the stage

clearing up and testing lights, sounds etc., and all this told

me that the time of the Concert was approaching. While

I was waiting for the Concert to begin, shortly before the

Concert began, Michael’s fans started playing and singing

Michael’s songs, and everybody screamed “Michael,

Michael”, and I just couldn’t wait to see Michael appear on

the stage. All around me, there was chatter in numerous

different Italian dialects and in other foreign languages, as

Michael’s fans arrived not only from all parts of Italy, but

also from many different Countries of Europe, to attend to

the Concert in Milan, and I just thought to myself that all

that was just unbelievable and amazing, and that it was

such an amazing and remarkable demonstration of how,

Michael, through his music, could bring people of all races

together, and unite so many people from different Nations.

Now the Concert was about to begin so I thought that

Michael was probably under the stage waiting, so I hope

he heard all the fans singing his songs.

At 8:00 p.m. the loudspeaker announced: - “HIStory will

begin in 30 minutes, and you’ll be part of History” - ; then

other announcements followed: “HIStory will begin in 25

minutes”; then “HIStory will begin in 15 minutes”; then

“HIStory will begin in 10 minutes”; … by now I was begin-

ning to feel very excited from the idea that I was going to

see Michael again, Live on stage, and I just couldn’t wait.

Then the lights went down and a massive screen at the

back of the stage and two smaller screens at the sides,

began showing Michael travelling at a very high speed, in

a spaceship directed to the G. Meazza Stadium of Milan.

The sound was so loud and the anticipation was mounting.

The music and noise kept getting louder and I felt Michael

was about to appear on the stage any second now; I could

see on the massive screen Michael’s spaceship approach-

ing to the G. Meazza Stadium, then I heard a countdown

and as it reached “ONE” the stage erupted and a space-

ship hurtled through it, and I could see Michael crashing

onto the stage in a rocket, among explosions and smoke.

Michael always knew very well how to open a Show, but I

hadn’t expected anything anywhere nearly as impressive

as this, and I felt that lump in my throat, for the strong

emotion, that I knew already very well,

49

and that I had already felt in Rome when I had seen Mi-

chael in the “Dangerous Tour Concert”, and also the night

before at our meeting with Michael. Then the door of the

spaceship flew off and Michael was standing there on the

stage, in his “spaceman” costume, and as the audience

saw Michael, still, on the stage, there was a thunderous

applause and that lump in my throat got bigger and bigger,

and tears started running down my face; for a short

while Michael stood still and the audience went wild.

There was a large gap between the doorway and

the stage and I held my breath as Michael leaped

across it and clattered onto the stage. The space-

ship vanished and that was when I fully appreciated

just how big the stage was, then, he first removed

his breast plate, then turned and removed his

helmet, then he turned again and threw his helmet,

and then he removed his scarf, and then Michael

started dancing and singing “Scream”.

I was awestruck, and it took a while for me to recov-

er. I had tears in my eyes, for the great emotion of

seeing Michael again Live on stage, and that lump

in my throat that hurt and that wouldn’t leave me

alone. I was crying for the happiness I felt deep in-

side of myself and I was deeply moved. While

Michael was singing “Scream” he very often ran

from the left to the right of the stage, and he was

constantly framed and reflected on the screens at

both sides of the stage, so that even the people

who were far from the stage could see Michael in

the large screens which framed Michael in a much

bigger image.

All the equipment was squashed at the back and

the backup singers were squashed at the back so

there was a massive expanse of bare stage and

Michael.

During the interlude between “Scream” and “They

Don’t care about us”, among explosions and smoke,

six dancers were toasted on the stage while Mi-

chael performed a military cadence and his troops/

dancers, joined him and marched about during

“They Don’t Care About Us”, and even with these

soldiers the stage was spacious, clear, uncluttered

and simple.

50

The floor was a pale off-white/grey colour and dif-

ferent light patterns reflected most effectively and

complimented Michael and his dance moves, while

the audience kept on applauding thunderously,

and the screaming fans kept on yelling “Michael,

Michael”.

At this point, a guitarist with a long white wig joined Michael

on stage playing her guitar, and Michael approached the gui-

tarist, following the rhythm of the guitar, while the soldiers

marched carrying the flags of the two Nations, the American

flag and the Italian flag, at the centre of the stage, then at the

end of the song, the soldiers and the flags disappeared down

the trap door.

My mind is still whirling from the experience and I can still re-

member the Show as a whole in all its sections that were really

wonderful. My biggest impression was how clean and crisp

Michael’s performance was, there were some explosions and

some smoke, which made them all the more effective when

they did happen.

Then Michael sang one of my favourite songs “In The Closet”,

and while he sang and danced there were some very effective

light special effects, which accompanied the song, and his

dance moves were very sensual. “In The Closet” was per-

formed wonderfully well and Michael was fascinating and

sensational, not only did he move, sing and dance like no one

else but he transformed the whole arena with his incredible

stage presence. He really and totally owned the stage and the audi-

ence. You could literally see the best performers on stage ever. He

was AWESOME !!!

At the end of the song “In The Closet” Michael

Bush and some other people came on the stage

and helped Michael to get rid of some parts of the

costume, and some accessories were removed,

while Michael yelled to the audience “I love

Youuuu”, then he added a “HoooHooo” then again

he yelled to his fans “I Love Youuuu”, then again

he yelled to the crowd a “HoooHooo”, then again,

“I Love Youuuuu”, and the crowd just went wild.

Then Michael started dancing and singing “Wanna

Be Starting Something”, and this was Michael Jack-

son at the height of his performing powers. Michael

was full of energy and amazingly on form and this

was a great and unique sounding performance!

51

Great dancing on the second part of this song with,

again, some very sensual moves, which made the

crowd go nuts!

A really solid and amazing performance, and Michael’s voice

was sharp.

The stage went dark, for a short while, then the stage lit up

again just a cone of light, and Michael, in this cone of light,

started dancing with very sensual moves, and with an angelic

voice, he started singing “Stranger In Moscow” sending the

crowd into total raptures. I think that Michael really had this

song perfect.

Michael didn’t just sing a song, he lived it, and while he sang “How does it feel, when you are alone and you’re cold inside” he was absolutely stunning.

“Stranger In Moscow” was really heart rendering, and tears

were running down my cheeks and I was quietly sobbing as

once again it was just Michael standing in the middle of the

stage and singing with all his passion and heart.

Beautiful performance, musically amazing. At the

end of the song Michael stood still for a while, with

his arms spread out, then he sent a kiss to the

52

audience, then bowed, and then Michael

disappeared through a trap door. He did a lot of

disappearing and reappearing during the Concert.

The stage went dark again, then lit up and six male

dancers and two female dancers started dancing

the Interlude to "Smooth Criminal," in a captivating

high-art choreography, then through the trap door,

Michael reappeared on the stage shooting with a

rifle, and at this point, as if from nowhere, a large

sheet appeared at the very front of the stage

completely obliterating it, and a giant silhouette of

Michael materialized, showing Michael dancing be-

hind the sheet, and the audience went wild once

again.

Then a few moments later two tiny silhouettes ap-

peared on either side of him. Then the sheet went

down and Michael, at the centre of the stage, with a

white hat on, a white pinstripe jacket, with a black

arm band on his right arm, a blue shirt and white tie,

danced and sang “Smooth Criminal” the classic

way.

When Michael did the “Lean” move, together with

his dancers, the crowd went wild once again, and

when Michael, did the “Moonwalk”, together with the

dancers, huge, thunderous applause filled the whole

Stadium, as he really was amazing, really stunning,

and I just realized how, with moves like this, he

could totally seduce all the audiences around the

world. Michael was just really good at leaning

and moonwalking.

Oh my God, Michael was incredible, and “Smooth Criminal” was a very solid performance as usual. YOU just could not take your eyes off Michael, - and that was his secret.

Then, once again, the stage went dark, and some of

Michael’s footage appeared on the massive screen,

then the stage lit up and Michael walked in, always

wearing his Gold Pants and a transparent black

jacket, and started singing “You Are Not Alone”.

53

His beautiful, angelic voice filled the arena, and while he sang “You are not alone, I’m here with you, though you’re far away, I’m here to stay, You are not alone … “ the roar of the crowd and the thunder of applause was remarkable, and it gave you goose bumps.

Great performance. Extremely beautiful and mov-ing. I remember being there all the time with this lump on my throat, and tears kept on falling down my cheeks, and the whole occasion brought the entire audience to tears. During "You Are Not Alone", one girl was allowed to get on the stage and dance with Michael on stage, and the girl was totally overwhelmed and she just could not stop crying, and while she hugged Michael and Michael hugged her, and they danced and hugged each other, the audience went wild and thunderously applauded.

Then Michael bowed in front of her and the girl just

kept on looking at Michael, and hugging him, until a

bodyguard approached them and the girl was taken

away from him, and Michael, now all alone on

stage, continued singing the song till the end. Then

he stayed still for a while with his arms spread out,

then he sent a kiss to the crowd, and then he

bowed to the audience, while the stage went dark.

When the stage lit up again, Michael was in the

centre of the stage and yelled “I Love Youuuu” to

the crowd, then he yelled his famous “HeeeHeee”,

to his screaming fans, while Michael Bush and

other of the staff, helped Michael to change, and he

put on the jacket for the Medley. Then it was only

Michael on the stage, and he started talking to the

audience and a new side of him emerged, now, we

also got Michael the comedian. He was seriously

funny, when he talked to the audience, before the

“Jackson 5” Medley.

The audience went wild when he talked to them,

especially when, all of a sudden, he yelled to the

crowd: - “I love you Milano!” The audience was

quite stunned, as he said it in Italian, he said

MILANO, not Milan, so the audience went wild, and

started yelling back: - “Michael we love you!” - Then

Michael mentioned “the old times” and “the old

songs in the old fashion way” and he started sing-

ing a fantastic Medley from the “Jackson 5”, “I

Want You Back” – “The Love You Save” and “I’ll

Be There”, and while Michael sang the “Jackson 5

Medley”, on the massive screen there was some

footage, showing Michael as a baby in Gary, and

then with his brothers, and performing with his

brothers.

My heart is always torn with “I’ll be there”. I’ve

always loved this song so very much.

54

It is a piece of nostalgia and the audience always

seem to really get involved though.

After the Medley the stage went dark and Michael

disappeared, down through a trap door. Then the

empty stage lit up again, with just a cone of light,

and Michael, wearing black pants and a white

T-shirt, strutted on carrying a suitcase, he plonked it

down on a stool, that seemed to appear from

nowhere, he unlatched the case and lifted the lid

with such attitude that I was looking at him in total

admiration while also wondering what on earth he

was leading up to.

The instant he lifted out his “Billie Jean” jacket, it hit

all the audience and they just went wild, then he put

on the single sequined glove, on his left hand, then

he plonked the fedora hat on his head, and then, he

jumped into the cone of light, and there he was off,

whirling, twirling, and “Billie Jeaning”, like never

before.

This was wonderful. He was amazing, really AWE-

SOME!!

And when he did the Moonwalk, and then, when he

went up on his toes, the audience went wild and

thunderous applause filled the Stadium once

again.

55

I love this song so very much, and this song just

makes me go crazy, every time that I listen to it, so

you just think what it can be, watching Michael

Live, on stage.

It was really a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and

his dancing was first class. The extended drum-

solo postlude to "Billie Jean" that allowed Michael

to improvise to the beat - gyrating, kicking, tapping

and gliding. Part of what made Michael so

compelling as a Performer is how his body was

constantly in motion and completely in-sync with

the music.

For the entirety of the Show, he became, as he

often said, "the medium through which the music

flows." Really amazing!!! “Billie Jean“ was a great

performance. The crowd reaction was amazing, and

the whole of the G. Meazza Stadium went wild, and

was clapping along and going crazy. At the end of

the song, Michael sang once again “Billie Jean is

not my lover”, then he threw the fedora hat down to

the crowd, who went wild once again, while the

stage went dark.

Up to “Billie Jean” Michael was wearing the Gold

Pants, designed by Gianni Versace, (that I loved so

much), those Gold Pants, which left very little to the

imagination, just fitted Michael beautifully and he

looked really gorgeous in them.

When, after “Billie Jean” the stage was still dark, on

the massive screen there was some footage of Mi-

chael transforming into a werewolf, and we under-

stood that Michael was about to sing “Thriller”, then

the stage lit up again, and Michael walked in, wear-

ing a white jacket and black pants, and started

singing “Thriller”, among some very effective light

special effects, all the lasers, lights, tricks and

treats.

56

At the beginning of the song, Michael was alone on

the stage, singing, then at the middle of the song, six

dancers/zombies, joined him on stage, and started

dancing, with Michael dancing out front, and the six

dancers behind him, just like in a video,

then ghouls and skeletons came in and chased him

and he leaped onto a trapdoor which lowered so all

we could see was Michael’s head sticking out of the

stage, as he sang, and monsters tormented him. He

then disappeared and reappeared in his werewolf

head and did some more dancing.

“Thriller” was, again, musically, a great performance,

and a strong performance from Michael, and the

main “Thriller” dance was executed perfectly. The

dancers in the mask at the end were over the top,

and Vincent Price’s vocal was stunning and amazing.

Then, towards the end of the song, Michael was

forced into a contraption like an oyster shell, with

long protruding spikes, it was shut, then two other

sides also shut and a flame burst out and the ghouls

opened it, and it was empty, Michael had disap-

peared, and the stage went dark.

While Michael reappeared on the crane, at the front

of the stage, among explosions and smoke, and he

started singing the smash hit “Beat It”, driving the

fans wild, when he loomed over the sea of arms on a

boom, returning then to the stage to bring to life the

dance routines that made Michael Jackson the

master of the music video.

He was wearing a red jacket and black pants, for this song,

and it was really a true blast from Michael and it went like

this: Michael came up on the crane, shouting his usual and

very famous “HeeeeHeeee!”. The drummer gave a one bar

timing and in came the classic “Beat it” BASS….Boooomm,

Boooooom! Really great!!! Then we had 3 counts of 8 until

the live drums came in (on this occasion, Jonathan Moffett).

Then we had 4 counts of 8 until all hell broke loose and the

Guitars, Drums, Keyboards and everything kicked in for the

classic start of “Beat it”, and Michael on his crane blasting

“HeeeeHeeee!”, all part of a great Live Show and a lot of

fun. Oh how I loved that “HeeeeHeeee!” When Michael

shouted his “HeeeeHeeee!” to us, the audience

57

responded “HeeeeHeeee!” to him, and I too, shouted

to Michael my “HeeeeHeeee!”, and indeed it was

such a great happiness, such a great emotion, and

such great fun, and my heart was pounding for the

great feelings that I felt deep inside myself. At a cer-

tain point, when he was on the crane he stopped

right over my head and if only I was a few feet taller I

could have touched him. I was almost hoping he

would fall off as he would have landed right on my

head!!! Can you imagine!!! … But he did not fall. I

enjoyed all of it. So many things were happening and

my heart was pounding, and my head was spinning,

as I kept turning my head to follow Michael on the

crane. It was not easy to watch every move Michael

made all at the same time. In “Beat it” the keyboards

were great and very strong.

Then, on stage, the guitarist with the long white wig,

appeared and played her guitar, while Michael ap-

proached her, following the rhythm, while she was

playing the guitar.

Then on stage we had 6 dancers for the fight

sequence, while Michael intervened to separate

them, and then they continued dancing, and it was

really some great dancing, until Michael at the end of

the song, stayed still on stage with his arms spread

out, and the audience went wild and burst into thun-

derous applause.

Then, once again, the stage went dark, and when the

stage lit up, Michael walked in, wearing a blue jacket

and black pants, and started singing “Blood On The

Dance Floor”, among lasers, smoke and light special

effects, and the screaming fans went wild.

Michael repeatedly came out to the front and sides of

the stage, and each side of the audience went wild,

when he did this and stood singing directly in front of

the side screens, “Blood On The Dance Floor”. It was

a classic performance, one of his best.

Great energetic dancing, and Michael was amazing,

as always. I think that, dance vocabulary wise,

Michael reached his pinnacle during the History Tour,

and surely, the HIStory Tour was his pinnacle in

terms of energy balanced with dance moves.

58

At the end of “Blood On The Dance Floor” the stage

went dark again, and on the massive screen there

was some footage of Michael, (that one that ends

with the black panther), then the stage lit up, and

Michael was already on stage with his dancers, and

started singing and dancing “Dangerous”. For this

song, Michael was wearing black pants, a black

jacket, with a white arm band on his right arm, a

black tie and a black fedora hat.

For this HIStory Tour Michael took out the verses

and added little breaks. I personally think he should

have kept the live elements and verses, because I

simply just loved when he said “There was some-

thing different about this girl, the way she moved,

her hair” and further on “She came at me in

sections, with the eyes of desire, a touch, a kiss, the

girl was dangerous”. So I still think it was a pity that

he took out the verses.

Anyway this performance was perfect, and it had

amplified keyboard effects, and the rhythm that

Jonathan Moffett gave to this song was really

amazing.

Really great performance. “Dangerous” is another of

my favourite Michael’s songs and Michael danced

and sang it marvellously well, I just loved the way he

danced it. It was just wonderful and it just made me

go crazy. Michael was fantastic. AWESOME!!! I

also loved the way Jonathan Moffett played drums.

59

At the end of the song the stage went dark once again, while

the crowd went wild and exploded in thunderous applause.

While the stage was dark, on the massive screen there was that

footage with Macaulay Culkin playing music at high volume, so

we understood what Michael was about to sing. The stage lit up

and Michael walked in wearing a white shirt, black pants and

shin guards, plated in 18-karat gold, and he started singing and

dancing “Black Or White”, among light special effects, lasers,

and smoke.

Six dancers were dancing with him on stage, and then the gui-

tarist with the white wig, joined Michael on stage and played her

guitar, while Michael danced and followed the rhythm of her

guitar, then Michael stood still in a cloud of smoke, and his

white shirt fluttered in the cloud of steam.

Then Michael ran towards the back of the stage, and two guys

on stage were chasing after him and then they leapt on Michael

as he ran and as they did so the whole of the back of the stage

came thundering down on top of them.

The crowd went wild once again and the stage went dark.

When the stage lit up again, Michael reappeared in his “Earth

Song” clothes, and started singing at the centre of the stage,

and the audience exploded in thunderous applause.

“Earth Song” is absolutely Michael’s magnum opus…the most

brilliant work of artistry written to save a dying planet.

While Michael sang “Earth Song” he went onto the crane

again, and was lifted up and circled round as he hung off it,

and the crowd went wild.

60

He was hanging even further off than ever before, I thought, and

I was worried lest he might fall down; thanks God he didn’t, even

though, among the audience there were many fans who wished

he fell down, so that they could grab him and hold him in their

arms.

When he came back down to earth, and on the stage, all the

dancers miraculously changed into refugees while Michael went

on singing the song. At the end of the song a massive, real tank

thundered onto the stage and as a soldier popped out of the top

all the “refugees” cowered and shrank back, but not Michael, he

stood his ground directly in front of the tank as it pointed its enor-

mous bazooka type gun at him and the soldier climbed out and

pointed his rifle at everybody who again cowered away then

pointed it directly in Michael’s face and Michael never

flinched, he just stared the soldier in the face as he slowly lifted

his hand and moved the gun away from him.

A little girl then walked up and presented the soldier with a

sunflower, the soldier capitulated and started crying.

61

Michael bent down and put his hand on the soldier, as

though to comfort him, then helped the soldier to get up,

then Michael turned to the audience, and stayed still with

his arms spread out.

The crowd went wild and everyone had tears in the eyes,

and the whole audience exploded in thunderous applause

while the stage went dark, and Michael disappeared

through a trap door.

When the stage lit up again, the music started playing

“Heal The World”, and Michael reappeared on stage

wearing a brown jacket with rhinestone sleeves, and black

pants, and with one of his most gorgeous smiles, he

started singing “Heal The World”. This is another of my

favourite Michael’s songs. “Heal The World” was another

awesome performance of Michael, but this time, without

the globe cluttering up the stage, (as in the Dangerous

Tour Concert), but this time the globe was on the screen,

turning.

While Michael was singing “Heal The World”, there was a

cameraman on the stage who constantly filmed Michael,

and followed Michael all around the stage,

and several times, during the song, Michael was framed

on the side screens, which gave a much bigger image of

him, so that even the people who were far from the stage

could see Michael very well.

62

Towards the end of the song, all the dancers came on

stage holding hands with children, and started walking in

circles around the stage.

At this point Michael went and fetched Daniele Parisi,

(please see the May Issue of the magazine), who

Michael’s bodyguards had taken Daniele up and had

brought the boy on the stage, and sat on the left side of the

stage, from where Daniele was able to attend and see the

full Concert. So Michael went to the left of the stage and

picked Daniele up and brought him at the centre of the

stage, holding him in his arms, and then holding hands , he

walked in circles with Daniele and all the other children,

around the stage, and often, while Michael walked in cir-

cles around the stage, he put his hand on the children’s

head, while he yelled to the crowd “I LOVE YOU”, “I

LOVE YOU”, “I LOVE YOU”, and the audience went wild,

and everyone had tears in the eyes, and the crowd explod-

ed in thunderous applause. Then there was the encore that

was really wonderful. The music just started playing again

and Michael started singing once again “Heal the world,

make it a better place, for you and for me, and the entire

human race, there are people dying, if you care enough for

the living, make a better place, for you and for me”, and

there was the roar of the crowd, who exploded in thunder-

ous applause, the whole Stadium exploded, and the

audience went wild, and everyone was deeply moved.

By now I knew the Concert was drawing to a close and I be-

came a little sad, as I wanted more, and I would have been

very happy if Michael had gone backstage, had a few minutes

rest, and then could do it all over again. I just did not want the

Concert to come to an end but I would have wanted it to last

forever, to have the joy to see Michael perform in front of me

FOREVER.

63

At this point all the flags of all Nations of the world came on

stage, among special light effects, lasers and smoke, and

Michael walked in wearing a white pearl jacket and black pants,

and started singing and dancing the last song of the

Concert, “History”, while all the

dancers performed a military cadence, and the soldiers joined

him and marched about drumming, while Michael, at the centre

of the stage kept on singing “Every day create your history”.

“History” was very effective with soldiers marching about waving

flags and Michael who sang the song marvellously well. Then at

the centre of the stage two soldiers waved the American flag and

the Italian flag, while Michael continued singing the song.

Michael was amazing and it was a wonderful and great

performance.

I loved this song very much and the way Michael sang it. I

loved his voice, I loved him, I just loved everything and

every moment of that Concert.

I was really overwhelmed, and I always had that lump in my

throat that hurt a lot, and tears in my eyes that just never

stopped falling down my face. Then, during the parade of

all the flags of all the Nations of the world, Michael once

again yelled to the crowd “I LOVE YOUUUUU” “I LOVE

YOUUUUU” “I LOVE YOUUUUU”, and the crowd yelled

back to Michael “I LOVE YOUUUUU”, then Michael for the

last time, stayed still on the stage, with his arms spread out,

and then he just disappeared, down the trap door.

64

And this was the end of the Concert, which left everyone

totally moved and with tears still falling down the cheeks

and all the hearts were pounding from the great emotion.

“Wow! It was the best show ever!” The Concert was

amazing, a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and Italy had

never seen anything like that, before, and 60.000 ecstatic

and totally overwhelmed fans left the G. Meazza Stadium

on that night, after the Concert, in complete agreement

and deeply moved. Michael Jackson's "HIStory" Tour

Concert was the biggest Tour Concert any performer had

ever done!!! And Michael Jackson was at the height of his

performing powers.

Michael Jackson played a total of seven Concerts in Italy

to an estimated 700.000 people. Ticket demand was so

strong it was estimated he could have done at least 10

more sold out Italian Concerts, if he had desired. Every-

one wanted to witness the phenomenon that was Michael

Jackson. His facial expressions were wonderful, he was

laughing and grinning and playing with the audience, and I

swear he looked directly at me and smiled several times.

That’s one of the things that never ceases to amaze me

about Michael, every one of the thousands and thousands

of people in the Stadium had the same feeling, that

Michael had looked directly at them and had sung directly

to them. Michael had a special gift in his ability to

personalize his performance in this way.

The HIStory Tour Concert in Milan, at the G. Meazza Sta-

dium sold out, shattering a record previously held by sev-

eral of the biggest Italian singers, who never reached

these kind of records in their concerts. The Michael Jack-

son HIStory Tour Concert in Milan, made history. Years

later I could still feel that visceral energy and excitement in

the Stadium, and even now, when I happen to think about

that, I can still feel it.

That night I got back to the Hotel totally moved and over-

whelmed, and with my heart still pounding. I did not see

my friends at the Stadium and we were unable to find

each other among that sea of people. So I went up to my

room/suite, and I headed to bed, trying to get to sleep but

it was not that easy, as the emotion was still too strong

and prevented me from falling asleep. My thought went to

Michael, up there in his suite, and mentally I thanked him

for everything that he had given me on that night, I

thanked him for his wonderful performance, I told him how

much I loved him, and I wished him “Good night, darling,

sleep well”.

On Thursday 19, June, I woke up at 9:00, a.m., so I real-

ized that I had overslept, and as at the “Principe Di

Savoia” Hotel, the check-out is before noon, I got up right

away, took a shower, (even though I had previously said

to myself that I would have never washed myself any-

more), then I put some make up on, I dressed up, and I

had breakfast in my room, then I packed and got ready to

leave my room to go back to Trieste. My room/suite at the

“Principe Di Savoia” Hotel was really hard to leave, and I

felt sorry having to leave Milan as everything in my stay at

this Hotel was perfect from the arrival to the departure.

When I went downstairs and I got to the Hotel Reception

to pay the bill, I asked the receptionist some news about

my friends, and I was told that they had left the night be-

fore, soon after the Concert. So I thought to myself that

surely they had decided to go back home on that very

night, to save money. Then I asked for my bill, and with

my great surprise and astonishment, I was told that every-

65

thing had already been paid for, by Mr. Jackson, and that there

was nothing that I had to pay for, as everything had been al-

ready settled that very morning by Mr. Jackson, at 8:30 a.m.

before of leaving Milan to go back to Paris.

I told the receptionist that there had to be some sort of a mis-

take, and that he’d better check and make sure, but he assured

me that Mr. Jackson had paid for my bill and that I had nothing

to pay for. I just couldn’t believe it, and I remained totally

speechless.

So I went to the hotel garage to get my car, and drove back to

Trieste, while my heart was still pounding and I had tears in my

eyes and that lump in my throat accompanied me throughout

all my journey back home to Trieste.

I hope the readers enjoy this story as much as I have. As I read parts one and two I became a part of the experience. I felt as if I

were there and it was truly a “WOW” factor for me.

Michael Jackson was truly a special man who had the gift of bringing people together and ministering to them through his

music and the good news is he is still ministering to his fans.

WRGO Magazine would like to thank Ms. Mirella Giurco for sharing this wonderful story with us and those who read this

magazine. I am sure this was an experience she will never for-get. Note how personable Michael was with his fans and be-cause Mirella stayed another night at that motel Michael paid the bill for her. I believe he would have paid the bill for all of them if they had stayed. It was only in the cards for Mirella. This

was her special time.

I, personally, can not wait to read it again. God bless you Mirella and I am happy you had a chance to meet Michael that way.

Here To Stay

I get goosebumps from the sheer delight I feel

when I look in my child's eyes. He smiles and the

sun shines brighter. My heart dances to the music

of his laughter

If there's one purpose that God put me here My

child makes it clear

Chorus: I've never known greater love or joy in my

the child within me to come out and play. A lost

He provides the music of this thing called life. It's

I AM

I am the sound of the birds, The whispering in the trees. The gentle silence after a storm, And the warm summer breeze.

I am the stars in the sky at night, I'm those thoughts in your head that say something's right. I hold your hand when you're feeling low, Although I get the feeling you just don't know.

I did not die I am still here. I'm that gentle voice Within your ear.

ONE LITTLE HOUSE

In Gary, Indiana on 2300 Jackson St, lived nothing but raw talent from the parents down to all the children

and one of them named MICHAEL JACKSON.... What a journey you went on from that little house on

Jackson St. to the "out of this world of fame" you achieved in your short life.... No one has ever taken the

world by storm like you did or EVER WILL... When God made you Michael Jackson, He retired the

mold...NEVER to be duplicated again by ANYONE....

You’re known to the world and now I can only visit some of the places you played, talked, visited, made a

difference to, where you created your music, walk the pavements you walked, give and support the charities

that were so dear to you and the list goes on... I have a lifetime of LOVE you gave bottled up inside me that

will forever live deep within my soul.. You ARE and ALWAYS will be a LEGEND MICHAEL JACKSON that

the world will forever love, be remembered and carried within every heart til the end of time... Your life had so

much meaning...You showed us how to tirelessly and unselfishly give and help others. You redefined the

word RESPECT to Mother Nature.

You left us messages in your music as you poured out your heart and soul into it... Your presence may not be

here to see that your messages reached us but your spirit is looking down on us showing you that it did...

Your death came too soon and your life was not long enough and the world will mourn you and celebrate you

forever more... With such deep love Michael, I celebrate and mourn you til God takes me home...

Gladys Knight Joins the Movement Against Selling Sex to Sell Music

Gladys Knight is back in the game, but with a gospel album, “Where My Heart Belongs” — an album fo-

cused on faith, soul and her ability of not slowing down anytime soon. Knight is famous for fronting the soul

group Gladys Knight and the Pips — rising to fame in the early 1970s. As an artist with longevity, she has ad-

vice for young artists trying to break into the music industry.

In an interview with theGrio, she revealed she’s nervous about releasing a new album, and she talked about

the current state of the sex-driven music industry. “I don’t envy them, coming through the industry at this time,

because it’s a totally different industry. It is money-driven. It is power-driven. They would do anything to get

famous,” Knight said.

She added, “we came through with a moral value, an integrity value, and a great love for what we were doing.

So it helped us to do the things that we needed to do to be better. We didn’t have to be on the cover of every

magazine, we didn’t have to be doing something dramatic just to get some attention. We let our talents speak

for that.”

The Empress of Soul acknowledged today’s singers — like Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson and Alicia Keys are

doing the best they can with the current state the music industry is in. “They’re doing the best that they can….

You have to look at the fame and fortune that they have…. As long as they mix in the great talent portion of it,

then that’s the road they they have to take in the industry these days,” Knight said.

She added, “but how far will you go with that? That’s what saddens my heart. We were taught to dress re-

spectfully for our audiences … did you hear me say dress? Not take it off, put it on. I’m just disappointed with

all of that. But there’s a way to present your gift…. If you’re a singer, make sure you do that.”

August 9, 2015 - Las Vegas

Hey Fellow Travelers! Late night post time, yay! SO, Thursday

night we played the absolute BEST show. Seriously. Our crowd

was BEYOND rowdy, which is our favorite kind of crowd, lol. The

very minute Scotty and I walked out onstage, some folks who

have seen us before at this particular venue must have recog-

nized us, and everyone just started cheering and going nuts! Scot-

ty and I were just laughing in shock that they were so thrilled to

see us! They were clapping, stomping and singing along to covers

we played that they knew, and they loved our own songs as well!

The biggest compliment of the night would have to go to this group of guys in the front. We played Carrie

Underwood's hit song "Blown Away" to a roaring response from our audience, and after the show these gen-

tlemen came up and told us that they're visiting here from Nashville, and that listening to the two of us put

them straight back home. What an honor to hear that our music could take them there like that! We were al-

so approached by scouts from Fender Guitar who loved our set and gave us their contact, so it was just an

all around perfect night! Anyhow! Here's our rendition of "Blown Away", we hope ya'll enjoy! Hope everyone

has been having an awesome Saturday and keeping cool! Love ya'll tons and tons! ~Nicole & Scotty

Lionel Richie Named 2016

MusiCares Person of the

Year Lionel Richie will receive 2016 MusiCares Person of the Year Award, with Pharrell, Lady Antebellum and

Luke Bryan set for tribute concert. Edu Hawkins/Getty

Lionel Richie will receive the 2016 MusiCares Person of the Year award early next year in honor of his storied music career and charitable work for myriad causes including AIDS, breast cancer, hu-man rights, famine, poverty and human trafficking.

Richie will be celebrated at the 26th annual MusiCares benefit gala, set for February 13th, 2016, two nights prior to the 58th Grammy Awards.

The gala, as always, will feature a star-studded tribute concert, and this year's lineup currently boasts Pharrell Williams, Lady Antebellum and Luke Bryan. Rickey Minor, music director for American Idol and the past two Gram-my Awards, will serve as music director for the event as well. Additional performers will be announced soon.

"As far as I'm concerned, this is the highest honor in our music business because it means you have a career," Richie said in a statement. "You've survived the journey, if you will. The people who have been there defy catego-

ries. When you say Barbra Streisand, Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney — are you kidding me? When I got in this business I wanted to be like them."

Richie's music career began on the campus of the Tuskegee Institute (now Tuskegee University) where he both earned a bachelor's degree in economics and helped form the seminal funk outfit, the Commodores. After notching numerous hits with the group during the late Sixties and Seventies, Richie embarked on an equally fruitful solo career in the Eighties. Richie has continued to record and tour, appearing on various festival bills in recent years and scoring yet another Number One album in 2012 with his 10th LP, Tuskegee.

As for his charitable efforts, Richie has been a longtime contributor to the United Negro College Fund and worked extensively on behalf of the Breast Cancer Research Center (his grandmother successfully battled the disease and lived to be 103). His music and philanthropic efforts notably coalesced in 1985 when he and Michael Jackson co-wrote "We Are the World."

MJL'S BACK TO SCHOOL CAMPAIGN - AS EASY AS A-B-C!

We are excited to announce that MJL has partnered with the Foundation of Goodness in Sri Lanka,

in order to help with their appeal for school packs ahead of the 2016 school year.

Many lives were devastated and children orphaned by the

2004 Boxing Day tsunami and the 30-year civil war. While

the war ended in 2009, there are still numerous families living

in extreme poverty, some of whom live in makeshift homes

and shelters with limited access to electricity or water. In

some cases, even travelling to school is a hardship. Indeed,

many of the children do not attend school because they

cannot afford even the bare essential school supplies.

For just $30 USD

(£20) you can

sponsor a school bag

brimming with all that

a child needs for

school, including

books, stationery, a

pencil box, a lunch

box, crayons, a water

bottle, material for

school uniforms and

even a voucher for

shoes! In addition to these essentials and thanks to our artist Mimi, bags sponsored via MJL will

include a couple of surprise Michael-inspired keepsakes, each displaying poignant quotes and song

lyrics by Michael which will undoubtedly inspire and encourage the children throughout their school

year.

86

Sponsorships need to be finalised by October when the packs

are bought. In December, a month before the Sri Lankan

school term, the brand new bags will be distributed to many

little outstretched hands and joyful faces during a very special

reception (photos show previous years' distributions).

This is another opportunity for you to be a part of a life-

changing initiative. Help a child escape the cycle of poverty

and give them hope in a better world. By sponsoring one

school bag, you are lighting up the future of a little boy or girl

and helping them make their dreams come true.

Helping a Sri Lankan child back to school is as easy as A-B-C.

Just send your donation of $30 USD (£20 GBP) via Paypal to:

HUMANITARIAN

PROJECTS

The newly launched organization emphasizes a

peaceful environment for the future of the youth

Musician and member of the famous Jackson Five Marlon Jackson

started The Marlon Jackson Study Peace Foundation to promote

peace and unity in communities worldwide. Due to his successful

career with his brothers, Marlon has had the opportunity to tour the

world and experience different cultures. Through his travels he be-

came aware of what foreign underserved communities endure.

“Traveling the globe I’ve gotten to see various cultures and I’ve ob-

served how each community is set up,” said Marlon Jackson. “The

way this was started was by the vision that I believe I got from the

Lord like eight years ago I’ve met the kids across the world and

some of them do not have the basic necessities needed to thrive.

When I saw that I knew it was time to focus on the kids.” It wasn’t

long before Marlon came up with the idea to start a foundation that would benefit the basic fundamentals of a

healthy environment for children. He knows first hand how important it is to have a cohesive community. Before

the Jackson Five became successful, the family lived in an underserved area in Gary, Indiana.

“As a community we all should know that promoting peace and unity would cause a chain reaction that children will

observe. It all starts with what we make accessible to the children,” he said. Study Peace Foundation will create

new programs designed to engage young people and adults to live in peaceful environments. The foundation will

start off with building playgrounds in challenged communities across the U.S. offering a safe place for children to

play and exercise for a healthy lifestyle. The rising issue of obesity and health related illnesses in the African Amer-

ican and Latino communities continues to be important issue.

The foundation will start with a partnership with the company KABOOM to build playgrounds in New Orleans, Gary

and Los Angeles. KABOOM and the foundation have already stared the process to build their first playground in

New Orleans this summer. “It’s been ten years since Katrina hit New Orleans and in some areas it looks like the

disaster happened a month ago,” said Marlon. “That’s why we decided to come in and build a playground and revi-

talize the area for the community. The kids really need to see the community change.”

Alongside the playground, walking paths for the athletes and elderly will be made for those who want to remain

physically active. According to Marlon, members of the community in New Orleans will have the opportunity to be-

come more involved with their community through this project.

“As a community if we want to promote peace we have to start with the children and make sure we monitor their

peers. Prejudice, hatred and bullying are all taught. We learn these reactions from an early age. Projects like

these will continue to show the goal I have to uplift others and live a positive life,” he said.

In addition to the building of the playgrounds the Study Peace Foundation will also participate in guest speaking

with other organizations that promote peaceful living. The organization hopes to visit inner city schools to speak

with student bodies about the importance of living a healthy peaceful life style.

“If you find a void in the world it is your job to find a solution for that void,” Marlon said. “You have to stay true to

your mission and listen to whatever input others have that can help you.” SOURCE

We have to be carefull with big organizations... The American organization Invisible Children

announced in mid-December that it is going

through a “transition.” The organization, which took

the world by storm with the viral Kony 2012 video,

announced that most of the staff – including Jason

Russell, the only remaining founder – will stop

working for the organization and that a small team

of four individuals will work through 2015 to

continue their lobbying efforts and formally hand

over their Africa-based programs by the year’s

end. In other words, the organization, which has

been raising awareness and action on the Lord’s

Resistance Army (LRA) and its leader Joseph

Kony for the past 10 years, is slowly phasing out.

For now, it appears Invisible Children won’t outlive

the rebel group it was formed to stop. Invisible

Children was new and groundbreaking in many

ways.

Make

Joseph

Kony

famous

overnight,

was the

first goal of

the San

Diego

based non-

profit

Invisible Children.

With a 29-minute, emotionally charged YouTube

short film that has been viewed over

100 million times, the team of young

activists had successfully begun their

movement. Joseph Kony is the leader of

the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), a

radical group in Africa that is

responsible for displacing over two

million Ugandans and abducting

thousands of children, 66,000 of whom

became child soldiers. Kony was

indicted by the International Criminal

Court for war for war crimes against

humanity but has not been captured.

When recent college graduates Jason

Russell, Bobby Bailey, and Laren Poole

visited Uganda in 2003 they got footage

90

The production talent of the founders is unparalleled, but their skills in managing the non-profit

were heavily criticized. Despite the good intentions of nonprofits, they are not immune to

failing as a business. Footage released of Russell, one of the co-founders, naked and

screaming obscenities in the streets of San Diego just 10 days after the video was released

was only the beginning of the downward spiral. It was publicly reported that Russell was put

on psychiatric hold before making a public apology but the movement lost the momentum it

needed for its “Cover the Night” campaign, the call to action in the documentary, in the midst

of bad publicity. On April 20, 2012, six weeks after

the video was released, the campaign was a flop.

Critics were quick to attack both the content of the

viral video and the spending allocations of Invisible

Children, which any non-profit should be prepared

for.

The first criticism was that the “Kony 2012” viral

video used a substantial amount of old footage

from as early as 2003 and presented it as if it were

the situation in Uganda in 2012. It also was

considered highly biased in its oversimplification of

the conflict.

Many nonprofits are criticized for how they spend

donations and Invisible Children was no exception.

Because nonprofits are required to disclose their

finances to anyone who asks, they are easy targets

for critics. Invisible Children raised $5 million

dollars in 48 hours following the release of the documentary. Most donors believed that the

money they gave would be going directly to aid in Uganda.

However, financial statements pointed in a different

direction. The majority of the non-profit’s expenses were

dedicated to raising awareness and lobbying, and they

took out a pretty penny for salaries too. In 2012, over $2

million dollars were spent on salaries alone.

Cameron Brown, a University of San Diego student who

volunteered with Invisible Children for seven years said

there are benefits to both media and groundwork spending.

“As for whether the groundwork is more beneficial or their

fundraising and awareness raising efforts stateside, it’s

difficult to say,” Brown said. “They go hand in hand.

Without the awareness and fundraising done here,

programs like the ones they have there wouldn’t be

91

possible. So in terms of immediate aid, the groundwork programs are definitely better. But those

programs can’t be established without the efforts they do stateside.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4MnpzG5Sqc

The non-profit was never supposed to last as long as it did. The goal of Invisible Children

was to capture Kony by the end of 2012 and to begin closing down after that. Kony has not

yet been forced to answer for his atrocities but the non-profit was not a total failure.

Invisible Children was successful in raising awareness and getting policymakers to prioritize

Uganda on the political agenda. Since 2012, three of the five commanders of the LRA have

been captured and over 90 percent of LRA violence has been stopped.

Brown volunteered on the U.S. side of the organization but said that the organization had a

well-organized response to resolving LRA conflict in Africa. Invisible Children set up radio

towers for early warning of raids, dropped defection fliers encouraging members of the LRA

to abandon the group, built rehabilitation centers for children who had been kidnapped, and

set up schools with mentoring programs.

“Their groundwork in Uganda, CAR, DRC, South Sudan, etcetera was multifaceted,” Brown

said. “They help with all

steps in dealing with the

LRA.” After a cutback

down to 22 employees at

the beginning of 2014,

Invisible Children

announced that they

would be phasing out all

of their U.S. employees

including the executive

board in 2015. Invisible

Children is handing their

work over to local

programs in Africa that

aid victims of the LRA and keeping only a few lobbyists working in the states. Invisible

Children is running one last campaign to raise $150,000 to fund the transition.

92

A statement on the Invisible Children website makes it clear that the movement is not over

even though the funding has dissolved. “We’re not quitting, because we won’t stop until

every captive man, woman, and child is out of the LRA,” the website said.

The closing of Invisible Children and their mass-media technique is an

interesting case in the nonprofit world.

The shutdown isn't just about cofounder Jason Russell's much publicized 2012 naked

meltdown in the wake of the film's viral success, though that certainly didn't help the

nonprofit's fundraising after the huge infusion of

money that followed the video. Invisible Children

—has spent most of the money it raised and is

finding it hard to raise more— but that may not

be the worst thing .

The issue might be close enough to being

resolved that the organization just isn't needed

anymore. In a world where the next ice bucket

challenge is a tweet away, how the organization

handled the rush of cash, rode a wave of criticism,

and dealt with the subsequent attention vacuum

can be a lesson to every organization hoping for

its own viral hit.

respectively, in loving memory

of Michael, to celebrate his

life. We are committed to help

the FMC medical and nursery

staff in their daily work to save

the life of their children, giving

hope to their parents. Any single

effort that is done, brings a light

of hope, a chance for the kids to

be alive and have a childhood. Our commemorative T-shirts pay tribute to Michael as Humanitarian

of the Century with a message that says it all: 1958, Michael, King of L.O.V.E. If you want to help

us, make your order and take a picture of you in an emblematic spot of your location to tell the world that

‘there’ there’s a fan of Michael who cares. We also have a lovely story to share:

THE KISS OF MICHAEL. One day, life gives us a kiss, a kiss ...of Michael. It gives us special

moments surrounded by His 'halo of LOVE'. They are

special, unique, one of a kind… they are one of those that if

you wanted them to happen on purpose ... you’d never

succeed because they are.. spontaneous, sincere, full of

magic, fantasy and games, they happen without been

expected...Everyday stories born of the purity of a child, like

the one Noah Alirangues Jackson, from Madrid, tells us are

the ones that make us to believe that Michael is always

close to our hearts. And that is why, they are so nice to

share. Thank you, Noah!"My nephew was playing with me

to guess characters… I had to paste the answer on the

forehead, and thereafter to ask questions. My question was:

Is he/she black? My nephew said: “when he was young, he

was, now he’s white’. Look at this.. this is the way a child

writes Michael Jackson (just using Spanish phonetics)

95

At present, little Michael, one of the cubs that Ana Maria Aparicio Do Nascimento and

Andrea offered to raise funds for children, is walking a long journey south, as Michael's

Ambassador and will bring all our LOVE to the children. He carries a suitcase with T-shirts,

as a birthday gift for kids and the renewal of our commitment to the Federal Medical

Center.

This is the shipping code: RF051621729ES

We invite you to follow the little Teddy Michael, yourself / a (from the post website: corre-

Makurdi, Nigeria.

If you want to participate, you can do it in several ways:

This is the story of a boy from a small Irish village who became an adventurer, a humanitarian and a doctor to the stars. Patrick Treacy grew up in rural Northern Ireland during the Troubles. Determined to become a doctor, he raised the money for medical school by smuggling cars from Germany to Turkey. In Saddam Hussein s Baghdad, Treacy was arrested and imprisoned, spending days wondering whether he was going to be hanged as a spy. In Australia, he worked for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. On returning to Dublin, Treacy set up the Ailesbury Clinic, where he worked on the cutting-edge of the new field of cosmetic dermatology, championing treatments including the use of Botox. This brought stars to his doorstep, including the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson. Central to this memoir is Treacy s personal journey: his efforts to escape the Troubles, cope with the fear that he might have contracted HIV (until he found out that he had not), get over his lost love and defend Michael Jackson s legacy. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Behind-Mask-Patrick-Treacy/dp/191074204X

LIFT ME UP SLOWLY – PART 1

So the spirit lifted me up. (Ezek. 3:14 KJV)

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. (James 4:10

KJV)

The blood bank was on the 22nd floor of the hospital, which necessitated taking the

elevator. When one of our patients needed blood products, it was our responsibility

to retrieve it. So there we were, several of us, in this elevator when it suddenly

stopped and the doors began opening and closing: we were not at a floor level. It

all happened so fast, that we really didn’t have time to be frightened, and before

long we were back on our way to the top floor of the building.

Elevators perform a commendable task of raising us up, particularly when the

flights are way too many to climb. I would list among those whom we tend to take

for granted, the people who manufacture, install, test, and inspect elevators so that

they are safe for people to move about in.

There are many other ways, however, to be “lifted up.” “Will you be there” asks if

we will be there to lift another up when they need it most. When Michael performed

the song, often he would have people physically lift him up. The message is clear:

we can’t lift ourselves. It takes others who are willing to do it. Whether we are the

lifter or the one being lifted, we have a part to play, and we must do it with dignity

and grace and love.

Throughout so much of my life, I have been the “lifter,” the one helping another out

of a tough spot. When I became the one who needed lifting, I was not so

comfortable with the role. But then I recalled how “uplifting” it was to me, to be able

to help someone else. And I realized that by allowing someone else to lift me, I was

giving them that same gift. When we lift someone up, we are actually both being

lifted. And I think that is part of the message: By lifting me, you yourself will be lifted

up in ways you can’t even imagine.

MICHAEL JACKSON: The Myth

“SHOUT IT OUT”: CORRINE MONTORFANI

107

MICHAEL JACKSON:

THE MYTH

Why do people get so absorbed in following all

of the activities of MJ and his family? And

obsessively follow their love lives, purchases,

weight changes, clothes worn, cars driven, and

all sorts of other things?

Has a celebrity-obsessed culture or sub-culture

always existed? I think the basic motivation is

the same: people are interested in celebrities

because they represent some kind of "ideal."

They are "larger than life" in certain senses, we

can even say that modern celebrities in

western world fill some of the vacancies left by

the demigods and titans of times past.

This may seem a bit exaggerated, but can we

deny that the crazed behavior of

"fans" (especially women) can reach heights of

near-religious fervor? It really does.

This reminds me of the cult

of Dionysus whose worshippers

were Maenads:

In Greek mythology, Maenads were female

worshippers of Dionysus, the Greek god of

mystery. They were known as wild, insane

women who could not be reasoned with.

The mysteries of Dionysus inspired the women

to ecstatic frenzy; they also were characterized

as entranced women, wandering through the

forests and hills.

(They went into the mountains at night and

practiced strange rites. (Homer's Iliad, Book VI,

line 130).

Dionysus in many ways represents the "rock

star" archetype. The myths describe him as

somewhat boyish, androgynous and with a

screaming crowds running after him.

108

I found this little extract that in my opinion pictures the situation very well:

“Yet a major source of cultic energies in twentieth-century America was the entertainment industry: the

Hollywood studio system, cohering during and just after World War I, projected its manufactured stars as

simulacra of the pagan pantheon. Frenzied fans (a word derived from the Latin fanatici, for maddened

worshippers of Cybele) had already been generated by grand opera in the late-seventeenth and

eighteenth centuries, when castrati sang female roles and were the dizzy object of coterie speculation

and intrigue. Modern mass media immensely extended and broadened that phenomenon. Outbursts of

quasi-religious emotion could be seen in the hysterical response of female fans to Rudolph Valentino,

Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and the Beatles. Eroticism mixed with death is archetypally potent: there

were nearly riots by distraught mourners after Valentino's death from a perforated ulcer at age thirty-one

in 1926. The rumor that Elvis lives is still stubbornly planted in the culture, as if he were a demigod who

could conquer natural law. Tabloids have touted Presley's canonization as the first Protestant saint. The

same myth of surviving death is attached to rock star Jim Morrison, whose Paris grave has become a

magnet for hippies of many nations.

Cultism of this demonstrative kind is persistently associated with androgynous young men, half sweet,

half surly, who like Adonis are sometimes linked with mother figures. Presley, for example, sank into

depression and never fully recovered from his mother's unexpected death at age forty-six in 1958; after

long substance abuse, he died prematurely at age forty-two in 1977. Rock music, even at its most

macho, has repeatedly produced pretty, long-haired boys who mesmerize both sexes and who

hauntingly resemble ancient sculptures of Antinous, the beautiful, ill-fated youth beloved by the Roman

emperor Hadrian. It's no coincidence that it was Paul McCartney, the "cutest"

and most girlish of the Beatles, who inspired a false rumor that swept the

world in 1969 that he was dead. Beatles songs and album covers were

feverishly scrutinized for clues and coded messages: I myself contributed to

this pandemonium by calling a New Haven radio station to identify mortuary

lines from King Lear submerged in the climactic cacophony of "I am the

Walrus." In cultic experience, death is sexy. The hapless McCartney had

become Adonis, the dying god of fertility myth who was the epicene prototype

for the deified Antinous: after Antinous drowned in the Nile in 130 AD, the grief

-stricken Hadrian had him memorialized in shrines all over the Mediterranean,

where ravishing cult statues often showed the pensive youth crowned with the

grapes and vines of Dionysus”.

This holistic view is called the "halo

effect" in psychology. The halo effect is a

type of cognitive bias in which our overall

impression of a person influences how

we feel and think about his or her/his

character.

Essentially, your overall impression of a

person ("He is nice!") impacts your

evaluations of that person's specific traits

("He is also smart!").

Page 60 & 61

109

Michael Jackson’s,

“halo” effect to have

become resolute and

most elevated. Since

his death has been

returned for most to

his throne as the King

of Pop and haled as

the man who changed

the way music videos

were made by the

mass media and all.

It's no news that the contributions of his earlier

years, however, were almost entirely

overshadowed by the latter by allegations and

criticism of his lifestyle.

Generally (and sadly it’s not Michael Jackson

case) people can relate to the discomfort that

accompanies even the thought of uttering an ill-

spoken word regarding the deceased.

But if this karma-invoking explanation is the fact

behind our faithful telling of sainthood, then we

should expect people to only speak positively of

the living as well (because no one likes to be

spoken ill of, period). But it just seems that isn't

how things go... So why the switch?

Why are we so comfortable gossiping and

saying bad things about our contemporaries

(only years ago, mass media tarnished MJ's

reputation), but only until the point at which they

are no longer extant (MJ is once again our

darling).

What is the truth about Michael Jackson? Ask that

question and many will answer ….'He was the

greatest entertainer of the 20th Century'; 'He was

the King of Pop'; 'He died on June 25, 2009'; 'He is

still alive today and faked his own death'.

All but one of those statements is based upon

personal opinion, the only FACT is that Michael

died on June 25, 2009…or did he?

Why would so many question that statement?

Countless conspiracy theories abound as to whether

Michael really died that day and because of them

people naturally wonder if they could be true. Sure,

there is a death certificate, there was a funeral, there

was a grieving family left behind BUT there were also

numerous inconsistencies surrounding the

circumstances of his death which make many fans

believe Michael faked his own death to escape the life

he was leading.

The internet is full of theories and opinions as to what

really happened at Carolwood on June 25, 2009,

therefore there is no need to list them all here, You

Tube has a wealth of videos which I’m sure you have

already seen. As if this charade couldn’t get any worse,

a new and rather amusing

development surfaced

recently on twitter which

adds a startling dimension

to this ‘story’. It seem

that a congruous group of

fans who actively support

his Estate and the relevant

horrible products post

2009, believe Michael to

110

Mr. producing

and

marketing

his

leftovers,

adjusted

by

famous

“nobody”??

Fans wake up!

There’s No Debate:

Michael Is Not Alive!

The "right to doubt", sometimes paradoxically

invoked by those who question the truths that

seem more established, it becomes otherwise

"negation of all speech". Thus "we can show that

something exists, but it is definitively impossible

to show that something does not exist"

To illustrate the absurdity of such a hoax theory,

we can use this very eloquent example:

"I can prove that there are horses,

but I cannot

prove that

there are

NO

unicorns."

Indeed, these myths are based on a highly

satisfactory unveiling effect for the soul, similar to

what we feel when we discover the solution to a

puzzle (...) Furthermore, one who endorse the

conspiracy myth have the feeling to know more

than the regular fans and therefore he does

consider himself to be less naive than the

others. From there, it is not always easy to

convince her/him of the futility of his arguments

because she/he quickly sees the other person as

mediator of the official doctrine he intends to fight.

I think those who have been fans since the

beginning have seen the transformation of his

Lyrics over time and that he was indeed clever in

hiding them by referencing places or objects in

place of the actual.

Especially the last 7 years of Michael life any fans

following him felt his pain, and his music guided

us thru life. For some of us his songs weren’t just

songs but were more autobiographical data about

the battle he was going thru in life. It hurt so bad

to know that the end was near, but even that it did

not prepare us for the day we woke up to hear

Michael Jackson had died…

To this day we ache, our heart’s are broken. We

really feel that in Michaels Death, hopefully, a

revolution of this LOVE he tried SO HARD to

bring to this planet while alive, will manifest into a

greater good, more so in his death.

Michael Jackson, 10,000 hours, and the roots of creative genius

Let’s consider, Michael Jackson, as an example of a prodigy. He grew up in a musical family in Gary, Indiana just outside Chicago. His father Joe played in an R&B band. All of his siblings played music in one way or another. Unlike his siblings and father, Jackson did not really play any instruments. However, he would compose songs in his head using his voice. One morning he came in and had written a song which eventually became ‘Beat It’. In the studio, he would sing each of the different parts including the various instruments. Then the producers and artists in the studio would work on putting the song together, following his arrangements.

Showing Out in Public

When I was little, my parents would always give me the rundown before they had company. “Don’t

talk when grown folks are talking. Act like you have some home training and do not show out in

public.” A recent post to the WRGO Magazine Facebook page about some fellow fans had me

cringing.

The post was a story about fans fist fighting outside of the site of a shrine built to Michael Jackson.

Talk about showing out! But, despite the fact that we had fans coming to blows at what was

supposed to be a significant site, the word choice in the article was startling. You see, it wasn’t a

memorial that was built to Michael Jackson, it was a shrine. The difference is to me is memorials

are where we go to show respect to fallen heroes and significant figures. Shrines are where we go

to worship gods.

I admire the music of Michael Jackson and would debate anyone who said he wasn’t one of the

greatest entertainers of all time. I also respect the personal and professional sacrifices he made

that eventually garnered him the title The King of Pop. But Michael Jackson does not sit on the

right hand of God nor will he meet me at the Pearly Gates. To be fair, Michael Jackson did suffer

persecution at the hands of many, but ignoring his role in bringing on that persecution does an

injustice to both the man and his legacy.

When it comes to stewardship of that legacy, Michael Jackson fans have both rights and

responsibilities. We have the right to celebrate the King of Pop’s life and contributions to the world.

We also have the responsibility to jealousy guard his legacy. Protecting the legacy is not about

creating a white-washed account of the mans’ life. Rather, it is about accepting that life for what it

was- a chronicle of an extraordinarily talented, deeply conflicted man. We as fans also have the

responsibility to check ourselves and police our fellow fans accordingly. This isn’t about ostracizing

those who prefer “Dangerous” over “Bad,” it’s about making sure we don’t give the world a chance

to point the finger at us as a collective example of what crazy looks like.

Michael Jackson is gone, but the work he did for others lives on. Unfortunately, some stereotypes

about his fans do, too. The fan community has the golden opportunity now to guard Michael

Jackson’s legacy and dispel the myth that we are just as “wacko” as MJ was. However, strife,

in-fighting, jealousy and rumor-mongering are all things that build walls instead of bridges. Fans

don’t always have to agree with each other. We don’t even have to like each other. But airing our

dirty fan laundry by building shrines and then fist fighting in public? Unacceptable.

Remember, now that Michael is gone, the eyes of the world are watching us. Let’s act like it.

Michael Jackson: Innocent 28 February 2005 By: D. Francis

#1 in Books Biographies & Memoirs ( J ) Jackson, Michael Amazon USA 28, 29 May, 23 June + 2, 7 July 2013 (also an International Bestseller on Amazon) Hailed as the criminal trial of the century. Two years of speculation in the media. Wall to wall media coverage from 2003 to 2005, 2000+ ac-credited journalists, yet the defense case was invisible. The public were bombarded with sala-cious prosecution focused media commentary. On 13 June 2005 Michael Jackson was acquitted of 10 felony charges and 4 misdemeanors. Those disgruntled in the media, labelled the acquittal celebrity justice. If you want to find out the truth, start reading this book.

This is a unique book looking at the trial testimony. It provides an in-depth look at the trial from the first day. It offers the reader an insight into the case that was not provided by the media coverage in 2005. This mini series shines a light on the defence case, and the trial testimony.

28 February 2005 was the first trial day.

With your simple smile show them how This world once again can respond to your glance And heartbeats flutter to the rhythm of your dance

Child of innocence, your elegance, your beauty

Beckons me now beyond the call of duty Come fly with me far and above

Over the mountains in the land of love

Child of innocence, messenger of joy You've touched my heart without a ploy

My soul is ablaze with a flagrant fire

To change the world is my deepest desire.
