Set Induction

1. Teacher activates pupils schemata by showing a few animal figurines.

2. Question and answer drills on the type of animals.3. Teacher asks pupils to guess the topic of the lesson.

Presentation

1. Teacher pastes the animal figurines on the board and generates pupils ideas on the pictures.

2. Teacher asks pupils to write words or phrases related to the pictures below the pictures on the board.

3. Teacher reviews pupils answers and asks the pupils to check the appropriateness of answers and their spelling.

4. Teacher shows power point presentation of The Little Red Hen.

5. Teacher guides pupils on reading aloud in group.6. Teacher asks pupils to read individually.

Pre-Writing

1. Pupils are divided into groups.2. Story is divided into several parts and put into envelopes in a

form of sentence strips.3. Teacher distributes the envelopes.4. Pupils need to rearrange the sentence strips in sequence of

the story.5. Teacher reviews and discusses pupils’ answers and corrects

if they make mistakes.6. Teacher distributes mahjong paper to each group.7. Pupils write the sequence in a paragraph on the mah-jong

paper.8. Pupils present their answer in group.

Group 1

Once upon a time, there was a little red hen  who lived on a farm .She was friends with a lazy dog , a sleepy cat  and a noisy yellow duck . 

One day the little red hen  found some seeds  on the ground.

Group 2

The little red hen  had an idea. She would plant the seeds .

The little red hen  asked her friends, "Who will help me plant the seeds ?"

"Not I," barked the lazy dog .

"Not I," purred the sleepy cat .

"Not I," quacked the noisy yellow duck .

Group 3

"Then I will," said the little red hen .

So the little red hen  planted the seeds  all by herself. 

When the seeds  had grown, the little red hen asked her friends, "Who will help me cut the wheat ?"

"Not I," barked the lazy dog .

"Not I," purred the sleepy cat .

"Not I," quacked the noisy yellow duck .

Group 4

"Then I will," said the little red hen .

So the little red hen  cut the wheat  all by herself. 

When all the wheat  was cut, the little red hen asked her friends, "Who will help me take the wheat  to the mill  to be ground into flour ?"

"Not I," barked the lazy dog .

"Not I," purred the sleepy cat .

So the little red hen  brought the wheat  to the mill  all by herself, ground the wheat  into flour , and carried the heavy sack  of flour  back to the farm . 

The tired little red hen asked her friends, "Who will help me bake  the bread ?"

"Not I," barked the lazy dog .

"Not I," purred the sleepy cat .

"Not I," quacked the noisy yellow duck .

"Then I will," said the little red hen . So the little red hen  baked  the bread  all by herself.
