Edgar Allen Poe was an American writer, a poet, editor and a literary critic.
He was best known for his stories about mystery and macabre.
He is also known from inventing the genre of detective-fiction.
He also wrote short stories about horror fiction, gothic romance, crime fiction, comedy, and satire.
Poe’s Life
Born in Boston, Massachusetts January 19, 1809.
Edgar Allen Poe was a orphan when he was young, shortly after his mother died.
His work of journals and periodicals forced him to move between several cities, including cities like Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York City.

He married his 13-year-old cousin, Virginia Clemm.
Later his wife died of tuberculosis, almost two years after the publication of “The Raven.”
On October 7, 1849 at the young age of 40, Poe died.
Poe’s death is unknown.
