WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS WORKSHOP This Written Communications Workshop is intended for writers in print and online media. This workshop teaches professional writing techniques required on Capitol Hill, for publication, and for many jobs in public policy organizations. Learn how to present your views effectively in this two-night training. Expert faculty will discuss how to break into conservative journalism by sharing lessons they have learned. I have really enjoyed refreshing my memory of grammar and style, and then learning how to be a more effective political writer. The training was a great way to learn and network with fellow conservatives. Matthew Hurtt Copywriter, Response America

Matthew Hurtt currently serves as a copywriter for Response America, a direct mail fundraising firm that has raised millions of dollars for conservative candidates like Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. Prior to joining Response America, Matthew managed the campaign for Maryland State Senator Alex X. Mooney, who is now the chairman of the Maryland GOP. Lindsey Mask is the a former communications director for U.S. Congressman Howard P. “Buck” McKeon of California, where she handled national and local media and served as a spokesperson for the Congressman. Lindsey previously worked as Press Secretary for Congressman Trent Franks of Arizona and at the state level where she worked for the Texas House, Senate, and as the speechwriter for the Texas Commissioner of Education. Lindsey is the Founder and CEO of Ladies DC, a young women’s professional networking group in and around the nation’s capital.
