Representing the nation on the world stage is no easy feat. It takes hard work, determination and a high level of skill.

Each member of Team UK has displayed all of these attributes. They have already excelled; achieving at a young age what many would aspire to in an entire career.

For many of Team UK, their journey started when they entered the WorldSkills UK Skills Competitions and competed in the fi nals at The Skills Show. Their talent and determination stood out and they were invited to compete for a place in Squad and then Team UK.

Training and preparing for an international competition is an emotional and demanding journey. Working with their Training Manager, their Performance Coach and the team at Loughborough University, all members of Team UK have pushed themselves, discovering their true potential and often surpassing their own expectations. Attending training sessions with organisations in the UK and internationally, they have spent every spare moment preparing for WorldSkills São Paulo 2015.

Through WorldSkills UK Skills Competitions and The Skills Show, Find a Future is committed to providing young people with the opportunity to unlock their potential and get excited about the world of work. Participating in the international WorldSkills event is important to the UK’s economy. Countries taking part share best practice in vocational teaching, raising standards and expertise in further education, skills and apprenticeships, on a global scale.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the organisations who support Squad and Team UK through the provision of equipment and materials. We would also like to offer special recognition to the employers and training providers of the competitors, Training Managers and Performance Coaches who enable them to take time out of work to prepare for and take part in WorldSkills São Paulo 2015. Without their support the UK would not be able to compete in international competitions.

Each and every member of Team UK is an inspiration to future generations of the UK’s workforce. We wish them the very best of luck at WorldSkills São Paulo 2015.

Visitors to WorldSkills São Paulo will have the opportunity to watch Team UK in action and visit the UK Stand located in the Global Skills Village (stand 16B).

In partnership with key employers, WorldSkills UK Skills Champions, WorldSkills UK experts and UK colleges, a series of sessions will be run that showcase the best of the UK's vocational education and training.This will enable delegates to exchange best practice in vocational teaching, raising standards and expertise in further education, skillsand apprenticeships, with countries from across the globe.
