MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MTS Rising Stars Concert showcases Manitoba music students's talent Winnipeg, Manitoba - May 13, 2014 -The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO) is proud to share the stage with Manitoba's brightest young musical talents in the MTS Rising Stars Concert on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 7:30 pm at the Centennial Concert Hall. This year, the WSO partners with the Manitoba Band Association, the largest provincial band association in Canada. The Junior Honour Band, the Intermediate Honour Band and the Senior Honour Band will be highlighted individually before they perform alongside the WSO wind players in this exciting program. Pieces by Dmitri Shostakovich, Frank Ticheli, Manitoban composer and band teacher Kenley Kristofferson and many more are featured on the program.
