What to do with warnings?

Since March 2009, we have been sent prophetic warnings of serious worldwide calamities. They seemed to be genuine warnings from the Lord but the timing of the prophesied events was far from certain. They spoke of economic and social meltdown and a series of natural disasters that were likely to harm vast numbers of people. We were also left with one key question unanswered. It was: "Is there one key event that might possibly trigger the major disasters and lawless social disintegration on the sort of scale that the watchmen were referring to?"

Before starting to address that question, here is one of the key warnings for you to consider. It is from the late David Wilkerson, author, speaker, pastor, and watchman.

Note that David makes a reference to the riot that lasted six days in the Watts neighbourhood of Los Angeles, California, in August, 1965. By the time the riot subsided, 34 people had been killed, 1,032 injured, and 3,438 arrested. It was the most severe riot in Los Angeles' history until the riots of 1992 – known as the Rodney King Uprising. When a jury acquitted four White Los Angeles Police Officers accused of beating of Black motorist Rodney King following a high-speed pursuit, thousands of people in the Los Angeles area rioted for the next six days. Widespread looting, assault, arson and murder occurred, with property damage of around $1 billion. In all, 53 people died and thousands more were injured. The riots give an alarming but accurate representation of what other End Time outbreaks of lawlessness will look like. The two photographs were taken during the 1965 riots.

AN URGENT MESSAGE AN EARTH-SHATTERING CALAMITY IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. IT IS GOING TO BE SO FRIGHTENING, WE ARE ALL GOING TO TREMBLE – EVEN THE GODLIEST AMONG US.

For ten years, I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York City. It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut.

Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires – such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago. There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting – including Times Square, New York City.

What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath.

In Psalm 11:3 it is written, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

God is judging the raging sins of America and the nations. He is destroying the secular foundations.

The prophet Jeremiah pleaded with wicked Israel: “God is fashioning a calamity against you and devising a plan against you. Oh, turn back each of you from your evil way, and reform your ways and deeds. But they will say, It’s hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.” Jeremiah 18:11-12


In Psalm 11:6, David warns, “Upon the wicked he will rain snares (coals of fire)… fire…burning wind … will be the portion of their cup.”

Why? David answered, “Because the Lord is righteous” (verse 7).

This is a righteous judgment, just as in the judgments of Sodom and in Noah’s generation.

WHAT SHALL THE RIGHTEOUS DO? WHAT ABOUT GOD’S PEOPLE?

First, I give you a practical word I received for my own direction. If possible lay in store a thirty-

day supply of non-perishable food, toiletries and other essentials. In major cities, grocery stores are emptied in an hour at the sign of an impending disaster.

As for our spiritual reaction, we have but two options. This is outlined in Psalm 11. We “flee like a bird to a mountain.” Or, as David says,“He fixed his eyes on the Lord on his throne in heaven – his eyes beholding, his eyelids testing the sons of men” (verse 4) “In the Lord I take refuge” (verse 1).

I will say to my soul: No need to run ... no need to hide. This is God’s righteous work. I will behold our Lord on his throne, with his eye of tender, loving kindness watching over every step I take – trusting that he will deliver his people even through floods, fires, calamities, tests, trials of all kinds.

I do not know when these things will come to pass, but I know it is not far off. I have unburdened my soul to you. Do with the message as you choose. God bless and keep you.

We are also aware of many other warnings about sudden and fearful judgements of God. Some of these are God's Hand actually shaking everything that can be shaken; others are God removing His Hand of protection to simply allow a reaping of what human beings have sown.

To summarise some of the key points from those warnings:

• Western nations have turned from their Christian foundations to pagan religions and humanism

• No longer built upon the Rock, they will become increasingly unstable

• Governments will be unstable, institutions will be unstable, whole societies will be unstable

• the Western church is mostly like the Laodicean church of Revelation 3, neither hot nor cold

• there is Christianity without Christ!

• there is religion without God!

• the spiritual walls of protection around areas are being broken down

• no longer held in check by God's Word and the power of His Gospel, demonic hordes will be released

• strong spiritual darkness and oppression will increase over whole cities and regions


• the earth itself will become increasingly violent because of the violence committed upon it

• the blood of the innocents cries out from the land

• the corruption of mankind is reflected in the corruption of creation

• there will be sharp movements of tectonic plates bringing great shaking to nations

• more huge tsunamis will crash into our shores

• we will see worldwide economic collapse

• there will be many outbreaks of lawlessness

• in the midst of all this, God is still holy, just and righteous

• His judgements are to be feared

• He will confound the work of false prophets

• He will throw into confusion all those who indulge in occult practices

• He will prescribe due penalties for failing to observe His commandments

• we are urged to remember the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, as soon as Lot and his family went out, the cities were overthrown

• in the midst of all these calamities, hope can still arise

• where sin abounds, grace abounds yet more

• God's mercy still triumphs over judgement

• The Lord is still willing to receive those who genuinely cry out for mercy

• a key to receiving His mercy is our repentance

• we are urged to remember the days of Noah

• a faithful remnant are preparing arks of salvation to ride out the coming floods

• actually, Jesus Christ is the ark of our salvation

• the harvest is the end of the age – both a harvest of righteousness and a harvest of wickedness

• His Kingdom will come

• His will will be done on earth as it is in Heaven

• the Kingdom, the power and the glory are all His!

Taken altogether, these warnings suggest that God has had enough of certain things, and that His patience has been exhausted. There seems to be little mercy remaining for the most rebellious who have blocked their ears from hearing His Word and His Truth. Some who have fallen away from the truth may now be beyond the point of restoration.

At the same time, it seems that mercy will still be extended to those willing to call upon the name of the Lord. In the highways and byways, might be found some who have not yet heard or understood the message of the gospel of the Kingdom, of salvation through the King, Jesus Christ.

To return to the key question that was left unanswered: "Is there one key event that might possibly trigger the major disasters and lawless social disintegration on the sorts of scale that David Wilkerson and these other watchmen were referring to?"


We need to consider the following possibility:

• God's end-time purposes are centred in the land of Israel, and more specifically, Jerusalem

• These purposes are clearly revealed in the Bible

• Many have chosen to reject the authority of the Bible

• Many have chosen to forget God's covenant promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (who was renamed Israel)

Are we seeing the fulfilment of Zechariah 12:2-3, the prophecy that predicts a day when all nations – possibly in the form of:

1. the United Nations and

2. an alliance of the surrounding Muslim nations

– will attempt to come against Jerusalem and be sorely wounded as a result?

Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup or bowl of reeling to all the peoples round about, and in the siege against Jerusalem will there also be a siege against and upon Judah. And in that day I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all peoples; all who lift it or burden themselves with it shall be sorely wounded. And all the nations of the earth shall come and gather together against it. Zechariah 12:2-3 (AMP)

US President Barak Obama’s public call in July 2011 for Israel to retreat to its pre-1967 Six-day War borders would mean that Israel would be just nine miles wide in its middle from the Mediterranean Sea to the border of a Palestinian state! Furthermore, the City of Jerusalem would again be divided. Israel would be forced to withdraw from the Old City, losing sacred ancient holy sites like the Western Wall. There could be serious consequences for those who attempt to bring this about.

The following is an extract from a prophetic warning on "Dividing the Land" issued by Lance Lambert at Laguna, Philippines, in November 1998:

My anger is stirred up, says the LORD, against the nations; for they are dividing My land and seeking to destroy My heritage. My furious anger is like a boiling cauldron against those powerful states that have produced such strategies, and who by pressure and manipulation are seeking to implement them. Now I will become their enemy, says the LORD, and I will judge them with natural disasters, by physical catastrophes, by fire, by flood, by earthquakes and by eruptions. I will touch the seas, and the atmosphere, the earth and all that is within them.

Moreover, I will touch them where it will hurt them the most, for I will touch their power and the foundations of their affluence and prosperity. I will smash their prosperous economies, says the LORD. They sit like potentates, so safe, so secure, believing in their own cleverness and wisdom and power; but I, the LORD, I will cause them to stumble. I will lead them into confusion and disorder. I will blind them and delude them so that they will make mistakes because they have not regarded Me, nor honoured Me; but rather they have devalued Me, deriding My word and ignoring My covenants. Long have I been quiet, says the LORD, but now will I arise in overflowing anger and fury. In dividing My land and seeking to demoralize and destroy My people, Israel, they have thrown down the gauntlet. I, the LORD of Hosts, the Almighty One, I will take them on.


The following is an extract from a more recent prophecy brought by Lance Lambert on the 17th of April, 2011.

Shortly also I will begin more serious judgment on the Western nations. I will bring them to nothing; I will turn them upside down; I will grind them to powder. They will not know what has hit them. It will seem as if there is nothing left of what once I worked in those nations; Especially that Superpower. I will bring it to weakness; she will no longer be super, but a pity of the nations.

Finally, a prophetic message given by Lance Lambert at Mount Carmel in April. 1986

It will not be long before there will come upon the world a time of unparalleled upheaval and turmoil. Do not fear; it is I the LORD who am shaking all things. I began this shaking with the First World War, and I greatly increased it through the Second World War. Since 1973, I have given it an even greater impetus. In the last stage, I plan to complete it with the shaking of the universe itself, with signs in sun and moon and stars. But before that point is reached I will judge the nations, and the time is near. It will not only be by war and civil war, by anarchy and terrorism, and by monetary collapses that I will judge the nations, but also by natural disasters: by earthquakes, by shortages and famines, and by old and new plagues and diseases. I will also judge them by giving them over to their own ways, to lawlessness, to loveless selfishness, to delusion and to believing a lie; to false religion and an apostate church, even to a Christianity without Me. Do not fear when these things begin to happen, for I disclose these things to you before they commence in order that you might be prepared, and that in the day of trouble and of evil you may stand firm and overcome.

A confirming witness to the measure of overturning change prophesied by Lance Lambert is a vision described by a Christian lawyer from India named Swarna Jha, seen in August, 2006. An Internet search for "just one roar of the lion" will find it. Test it for yourself and seek the Lord about it.

There is some evidence that both elements of the Palestinians and the surrounding Muslim nations might not wait for a political solution to their perceived problems (having a Jewish state in their midst) and their geopolitical aspirations for world domination. They may instigate a violent uprising within Israel and also threaten Israel militarily from outside its borders. This could result in the following scenario being played out before all the world:

I will gather all nations and will bring them down into the Valley of Jehoshaphat, and there will I deal with and execute judgment upon them for [their treatment of] My people and of My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations and [because] they have divided My land. Joel 3:2 (AMP)

This could result in a middle east oil crisis that could throw world economies into a spin. It could also trigger massive judgement upon the United States. Until comparatively recently, the United States has been Israel's friend and staunch ally. The US has been blessed as a result of this. Has the Lord been warning the US through a series of catastrophic events, that their departure from this role would bring about disaster on a national scale?

America is ringed with massive earthquake faults, on the US West Coast and the New Madrid fault which runs through the centre of the country. Would forcing Israel to divide the land covenanted to the descendents of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob prompt a division of America by a massive earthquake? Or might its West Coast experience an earthquake and tsunami similar to those that recently hit Japan? I believe it is worth considering whether whatever the United States attempts to influence within the land of Israel, might also be reflected in its own land.

Are the 9/11 terrorist attacks and Hurricane Katrina two examples of this?


9/11 Terrorism

Strong international pressure, particularly from the US, was put on Israel not to respond aggressively to ongoing terrorist attacks within its borders (Israeli helicopters and other forces were sometimes used to hit back at known para-military and political targets).

The number of terrorist attacks in Israel increased dramatically from September 2000 and continued frequently throughout all of 2001. Not only did the attacks become more frequent but the numbers of those being killed and wounded increased. Two examples were:

June 1, 2001 – A Palestinian suicide bomber attacks a Tel Aviv beach side disco days after Prime Minister Ariel Sharon announced a unilateral Israeli cease-fire, killing 21 and injuring more than 100.

August 9, 2001 – A Palestinian suicide bomber attacks a pizzeria in downtown Jerusalem at lunchtime killing 15 and injuring 130.

Of course, on 9/11 Islamic terrorist attacks came to the United States in a graphic way. The towers fell, the Pentagon was hit, and the nation was threatened by attacks generated from within its own borders. The attacks revealed glaring national and spiritual weaknesses. Were they partly a reflection of America's misguided pressure on Israel to tolerate Islamic terrorism?

In a single day, the United States was delivered from an ongoing denial of reality. Many who might have routinely declared "God bless America" watched in open-mouthed shock and a growing understanding that for this moment at least, God was certainly not blessing America.

The conviction of the moment when the second tower fell to the ground, was meant to deal forever to a nation's abiding fantasy about its invulnerability as a nation. Why should God bless America, when His revealed will is clearly ignored day after day by a rebellious and independent people, and its humanistic government.

The Twin Towers that fell on September 11, 2001 in New York City were the World Trade Centre. Their fall signified a coming sudden drastic change to the way the world traded. Many commentators referred to September 11 as “the day the world changed forever." As the two huge towers' structures melted in the intense heat generated by burning aviation fuel, it was as if the two horns representing American financial power in the world were utterly dissolved. Many noted the significance of Revelation chapter 18.

At the same time, the Pentagon, symbolising America's five-decade military dominance of the world, was also hit by a domestic aeroplane piloted by suicidal fanatics. As shown in the photograph, it was left crippled and smoking. The building was restored but the illusion concerning the invincibility of American military might had been shattered, and that could not be restored.

Forced Evacuation

The forced evacuation of Israelis from Gaza and parts of Northern Samaria was an astonishing event. One man described it as the first and only case in Jewish history of Jews uprooting other Jews from their homes and synagogues, to destroy those buildings. In 1956, Israel abandoned the Gaza area due to US and Russian threats. It was later retaken by Israel in the June, 1967, six-day war.


From 1993, US President Bill Clinton shepherded an agreement between Israel’s Yitzhak Rabin and the PLO's Yasser Arafat. The initial phase of the peace process was called "Gaza and Jericho First." They signed an agreement detailing the conditions for the establishment of a "Palestinian Authority."

The evacuation of approximately 8000 civilians, from 21 Israeli communities in the Gaza Strip was completed over a five-day period in August 2005. Residents were forced from their homes by Israeli troops, some dragged away kicking and screaming and placed on buses that took them from the area. Some Middle East analysts and senior Israeli politicians entirely attributed the evacuation plan to pressure coming from the American government.

On August 29, 2005, Katrina's storm surge caused 53 different levee breaches in greater New Orleans, submerging eighty percent of the city. The storm surge also devastated the coasts of Mississippi

and Alabama, making Katrina the most destructive and costly natural disaster in US history, and the deadliest hurricane since the 1928 Okeechobee Hurricane. The total damage from Katrina is estimated at $81.2 billion (2005 US dollars), nearly double the cost of the previously most expensive storm, Hurricane Andrew, when adjusted for inflation. Katrina brought about the redistribution of over one million people from the central Gulf coast area to elsewhere in the United States.

I was travelling in the US during this period and viewed much of the catastrophe unfolding as it was presented on the weather and news TV channels. I became convinced that a prophetic sign was being revealed to the United States. At the time, I thought it most related to God's judgement upon the decadent, pleasure-obsessed city of New Orleans. The sight of toxic water flooding the city (from human and industrial waste) clearly spoke to me of the flood of filth and perversion and corruption evident in not just one city but the whole nation. Only later, did I realise a further connection with what had just happened in Israel. I now agree with those in the Christian prophetic community who see a two-fold fall from grace resulting in this large scale devastation.

First, many sections of the professing church have lost all sight of Christian discipleship and have descended into self-absorbed pleasure and greed typified by the pursuit of personal wealth. Also the wider community, had fallen away from the Christian truths and guiding principles established by previous generations of Americans, into a secular humanism that had hardened into strident opposition to genuine Christianity. Second, on a national-governmental level, the US seemed to abandon its role as friend and ally to Israel, and instead adopt a fatally flawed vision of becoming the "Great World Peacemaker." It failed to comprehend the Biblical truth that there is "no peace for the wicked."

Part of the message of Hurricane Katrina to the United States was: "If you work to forcibly evict families from their rightful homes, and whole communities from their rightful location in the Promised Land, then large populations from some regions of your country will also be forcibly removed."

Jewish voices joined in with those from the Christian community who saw the parallel. "Katrina is a consequence of the destruction of Gush Katif [Gaza's Jewish communities] with America's urging and encouragement," said one Rabbi. "The US should have discouraged Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon from implementing the Gaza evacuation rather than pushing for it and pressuring Israel into concessions. Abraham, the Biblical father of the Jews, received this promise from God in the book of Genesis: I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curses thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."

The bodies of the dead were dug up against Jewish Law, and reburied outside of Gush Katif.

Bodies floated in the streets of New Orleans – even coffins in the historic graveyard were washed up.

On Sunday 28 August Gush Katif was declared "empty of Jewish residents." Most of Gush Katif's evicted residents found themselves without homes or jobs, without money, and their assets either in military stores in containers somewhere in the desert or exposed to looting in their abandoned homes.

The next day Katrina struck New Orleans, and two days later New Orleans was declared 'uninhabitable', leaving up to 500,000 people in the greater area homeless. Looting was rife in the devastated areas, with police running out of fuel for their vehicles and no jails for locking up looters!

8-10,000 Jews were expelled from Gush Katif out of a total Jewish population in Israel of 6 million: 10,000 divided by 6,000,000 = 0.17%

500,000 in New Orleans were left homeless out of a total US population of 300,000,000: 500,000 divided 300,000,000 = 0.17%

There are a number of serious warnings in Scripture about promoting or tolerating violent oppression of Israel. Could the following apply to the United States tolerating the division and occupation of Jerusalem?

Though you soar like the eagle [a symbol of the US] and make your nest among the stars [a feature of the US flag] from there I will bring you down,” declares the LORD .... Because of the violence against your brother Jacob [Israel], you will be covered with shame; you will be destroyed forever. On the day you stood aloof while strangers carried off his wealth and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were like one of them. Obadiah 1:1-4,10-11

Other Possible ExamplesIn the book, “Eye to Eye – Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel” author William Koenig argues the case that the following catastrophes occurred on either the same day or about 24 hours later after American Presidents Bush and Clinton started to apply some form of pressure on Israel to trade some of their land for peace with the Palestinians.

He cited:

• Six of the seven costliest hurricanes in America's history

• Nine of the ten costliest insurance events in America's history

• Three of the four largest tornado outbreaks in America's history

• Nine of the top ten natural disasters as ranked by America's Federal Emergency Management Authority

I think that some of the examples that have been cited in both printed and Internet publications were stretching or overstating the case. I have not included all of them here. My own view is that the Lord does not tend to keeping rubbing people's faces in the consequences of their sinful rebellion,


but He unquestionably uses some key events as prophetic signs or warnings. My own research suggests the general validity of some of these striking parallels between what happens in Israel and what happens in the United States. These points are really worth considering in pondering the prophetic future of both Israel and the United States. I do not believe any of the signs can be chalked up to pure coincidence. An internet search for: "major natural events coinciding with Israel’s land for peace negotiations" will bring up the other examples some are keen to cite in support of this view. Seek the Lord for yourself after considering the evidence.

October-November 1991: The Perfect Storm

As President George H. W. Bush was opening the Madrid Conference to consider a “land for peace deal” in the Middle East, the popularly named “perfect storm” developed that lashed the East Coast of the United States. More than 100 homes were affected in Maine, including the vacation home of then-President of the United States George H. W. Bush. More than 38,000 people were left without power, and high waves inundated roads and buildings. The death toll was thirteen. Was this meant to be a warning wake up call to the President? Was the message meant to be that dividing Israel for peace would release storms at home?

August 1992: Hurricane Andrew

When the Madrid Conference moved to Washington DC and the peace talks resumed, Hurricane Andrew came ashore causing $27 billion in damage and leaving 180,000 homeless in Florida.

January 1994: Northridge Earthquake

President Bill Clinton met with Syria’s President Hafez el-Assad in Geneva to talk about Israel giving up the Golan Heights. Within 24 hours, a powerful 6.7 earthquake centred in Northridge rocked Southern California becoming the second most destructive natural disaster to hit the United States, after Hurricane Andrew. The earthquake caused 33 deaths, 8,700 injuries and around $20 billion in damage, making it one of the costliest natural disasters in US history.

October 1998: Texas Storm/Flood

On October 15-23, 1998, PLO's Yasser Arafat and Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu met in Maryland to discuss Israel giving up 13 percent of its land. On October 17-18, a major storm brought over 510 mm (20 inches) of rain to a large area of Texas causing over $750 million damage. 31 people were killed.

April 2010: Oil Well Disaster

Is President Obama holding to the policies of his predecessors, Bush and Clinton, backing Palestinian land claims to secure continued oil supplies from the Middle East? America could use its own oil of which it has vast supplies and sources, but seems to prefer stockpiling it to using it. Whatever is driving that hoarding mentality, the outcome of it is to make the US currently reliant on continuing supplies from Middle East oil-producing, Islamic nations. The American economy is an oil-dependent economy. Is the main reason for US support for Israel weakening in recent decades an economic one? If it is, then it may be suitably ironic that while the US was putting intense pressure on Israel to stop construction on land in Jerusalem, and sending an envoy to force Israel to agree to a Muslim Palestinian State, the largest oil well disaster in US history occurred in the Gulf of Mexico.

2011: Ongoing Debt Crisis

International pressure again has been on Israel throughout 2011 to surrender land, sovereignty, and most importantly, part of Jerusalem. In the same period, President Obama, the US Congress, and the US Senate have been wrestling over the national debt ceiling crisis.


The US has a debt-driven economy and its ongoing weakness and potential for complete collapse is another possible trigger for a worldwide economic collapse. As the international community continues to wrestle over the middle-east, the Republican-controlled Congress and the Democrat-

controlled Senate, wrestled over possible "solutions" to the national debt crisis. The political grandstanding merely distracted the watching public from the uncomfortable truth that there is no actual solution available. All the political players can achieve is a plan to re-arrange the deck chairs on the Titanic before its sinks forever beneath the waves of toxic debt.

The US credit rating has now been downgraded. The cost of financing the massive US debt must rise as a result, putting extreme pressure on an American economic balloon that

seems to be ready to burst. This has consequences for all the nations of the earth because of the way world economies have become so interlinked. The "global economy" so often spoken of as a great opportunity, could in fact, be the springboard for a worldwide economic shaking. Even credit nations such as China would be hugely impacted because they "own" so much of US debt in the form of US treasury bonds.

A sudden large-scale economic downturn is portrayed in Revelation 18. However, economics is not a simple subject. Everything in economics tends to influence everything else. Nor is trying to comprehend the judgements of God a simple matter. God is God, and we are not. We see only in part as the Lord chooses to reveal to us. We must not become presumptuous in our views. Our opinions, natural patriotism, and cultural preferences have nothing to do with the justice of God.

Seek the Lord for yourself rather than relying on the views of others (including the ones I am presenting here.) I don't know the exact timing of the things I have seen but one thing I know for certain, the desperate and bizarre economic juggling with imaginary money in the US and elsewhere cannot continue for much longer. Something is going to give. The rising pressure cannot be contained.

Nor is God obliged to bless economies that ignore His basic conditions for blessing a society. Nations in the West were formerly governed on basic Christian ethics. The rise of secular humanism has eroded that Christian influence. Compassionate social welfare that began in the church, has, in the hands of national bureaucracies, hardened into a controlling and dehumanising form of socialism. Applying for and receiving a benefit from the "social welfare system" can be a humiliating process.

Nor have the widow and the orphan been cared for in a way that prompts God's hand of blessing to come. Rather, our neglect of the fatherless brings the anger of a righteous and just God.

America has proved unwilling to face up to and fix its problems.


It does risk sudden collapse. Greece is an example of what happens when investors lose faith in a country’s economic policy. America is the world’s largest debtor, and it is addicted to debt. It is borrowing trillions of dollars to maintain an unsustainable standard of living. Under President Obama’s proposed spending plan, America will run trillion-dollar deficits until 2019. It is an empire in rapid decline. It resembles the Soviet Union in the late 1980s. China owns 10 percent of America’s public debt. If China stopped lending to America, or dumped American debt it could totally destroy the dollar. China would lose its biggest consumer market, but China has the fastest growing major economy. Its internal consumption is growing. It may not need indebted American consumers and a depreciating US dollar.

A British historian recently told business leaders and academics that America doesn’t have much time to reverse its course. “Fiscally and in other ways, America is very near the edge of chaos,” he warned. One historical indicator of looming collapse was when the cost of servicing a country’s debt became larger than the cost of its defence budget. America will face this soon. US battle carrier groups will not be seen in the East or South China seas anymore. Then who will protect little Taiwan, or the Philippines, or Australia, or New Zealand for that matter?

Rob Holmes of Storm Harvest Ministries in Australia, shared the following revelation on Financial Devastation in the US, in October 1998. [Notes in brackets added by Adrian Watts.]

The time of judgement has arrived for the west, and we shall fear the name of the Lord. Those in the east will fear His glory, for He shall arise and demonstrate His great power. There will shortly come a time when Wall Street will collapse. No longer shored up by public confidence, it will stagger under the weight of national debt. On a day of frenzied trading, it shall tumble the nation into turmoil and depression. [Rob believes this was fulfilled in October 2008]. The attention of the creditor nations will be drawn to America [around 43% of America's debt is owned by foreign countries, mainly China and Japan]. I saw a time of conferences and meetings, international concern and intervention by prominent international organisations in domestic economics and affairs. For the first time in US history, international organisations will intervene in domestic affairs. I saw international troops on US soil. There will also come a national economic crisis, and localised crises will be announced. States will be bankrupted [32 of the 52 US States are basically bankrupt in 2011. When the year began, the California government faced a $42 billion deficit and was forced to pay its employees in IOUs.]. Eventually, utilising certain powers the US president will call the FEMA [Federal Emergency Management Agency] into action. You will see black helicopters on television and this will be a sign. When she is weakest a set of disasters will befall the nation.

Rick Joyner, Bob Jones, Mike Bickle and quite a number of others have recently been pointing to a double catastrophe coming to the United States in the form of a massive earthquake and subsequent economic crash. What follows is a brief abridged extract from a Special Bulletin entitled "The Day the World Changed" published in June 2011 by Rick Joyner of MorningStar Ministries.

On March 11, 2011 a 9.0 earthquake rocked Japan. Twenty-two years ago, I first heard Bob Jones talk about a major earthquake that would be coming to Japan that he said would set off cataclysmic events. While others were receiving revelation about a coming big earthquake in California, Bob Jones was adamant that it would not come until a massive one hit Japan. Bob was sure that the Kobe 6.8 earthquake in January, 1995 was not the one but this latest one was. The 2011 earthquake marks a demarcation point after which great change will come to the whole world, including an ultimate meltdown of the economy. It will also be followed by a major quake on the West Coast of the United States ....


The economic meltdown looks like Hebrews 12:25-29. Two aspects of this meltdown that I have confidence in, is the dollar losing its value with bartering being the currency for a period of time, and that there will be a time when banks are closed and what we have deposited in them will not be available .... We knew that when the quake hit in Japan, these were no longer going to be avoided .... The Lord does prefer mercy over judgment, but there is a time when judgment is inevitable, and we have now crossed that Rubicon. The inevitable economic unravelling may not happen all at once. It may not become manifest immediately that it is happening – our leaders have become very good at disguising the true condition we’re in. As the governments of this world collapse, God’s government will become more manifest. As the economies of this world collapse, God’s economy will become more manifest.

Liberty will be Decapitated! by Nathan Leal – February 2009

As I was seeking God, I got a taste of what is coming to our land – the only way that I can describe it is "severe anguish and heartache." A remnant needs to prepare to minister to one another and to comfort one another. The distress that is coming is going to test all of us in ways that we never imagined. I had this night vision: I found myself standing in a large field and suddenly the Statue of Liberty appeared. She was not on Ellis Island but on a small hill about 50 to 75 feet high about 500 feet away. I was just starting to look at her, when suddenly her head fell off. It fell to the ground in front of her and started bouncing down the hill toward me. It stopped at my feet. I woke up and asked myself "What could this mean?" Did this mean: “America will be decapitated?” Several hours later, I had the same dream again. Everything was repeating itself but this time, I saw a giant hand coming out of the clouds with a large sword. The sword was almost as tall as the statue. It was the hand of God and this time the hand with the sword chopped off the head of Lady Liberty! Again the head bounced down the hill and stopped at my feet. I heard the words, “Liberty will be decapitated!” as the second dream ended. I do not know what could cause such an event. I do not know when it will happen. The number one thing that must be stressed is that the New World Order will NOT be stopped. The New World Order is unfortunately, in the plan of God. It will be used as a vessel of dishonour to purge the Bride of Christ.

Mike Bickle had a dream where angels of the Lord went to blow a trumpet of judgment over California three times and he paused three times. The word was that California has a minute before judgment to repent. Mike also got Ezekiel 22:30-31 – "I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. So I will pour out my wrath on them and consume them with my fiery anger, bringing down on their own heads all they have done, declares the Sovereign LORD."

Rob Holmes reported that William Rice has predicted a magnitude 10.0 earthquake somewhere on the land north of Los Angeles. Rob Holmes had this revelation about Los Angeles in October 1998:

"Watch Los Angeles." The Lord said, “Ahhh Los Angeles, Los Angeles, why have you ignored My warnings? Parts of you shall become as New Orleans [under sea level] and parts of you as parched as the sands of Las Vegas [dry as sand without irrigation].”

A massive California earthquake could trigger calamity on a wide scale – not limited to the US. A tsunami generated by that sort of shaking could prove devastating to countries on the other side of the Pacific Ocean.


A Field of Dreams or Nightmares?Rick Joyner, MorningStar Prophetic Bulletin – December 10, 2012

This is a word that was first circulated in The Morning Star Journal, Volume 6.2. Because so many people have reread this and felt that it addressed our present situation, we decided to resend it as a Prophetic Bulletin. With the exception of a few word changes for the sake of clarity, this is exactly what was circulated in April 1996. I still agree with the interpretation included.

While praying about the future of our economy, I was given a vision of a long, lush green field. I felt that this represented a long period of economic prosperity, which has generally been the case since that time. While praying in August 1995, I saw this field in a vision again, but with much more detail. The end of the field was covered in fog. Not far into the fog there was a very steep cliff. In the middle of the cliff, there was a narrow, twisting, steep path that appeared like a descending bridge. It had the same green grass on it that the field did and went all the way to the bottom. Those who walked into the fog almost all missed the little path and fell over the cliff. Some died, but nets below the cliffs caught many of them. However, these nets were not there to save the people but to trap them. Others entered the fog carefully, dropping to their knees and searching for the path, which they seemed to intuitively know was there. Most of those looking for the path were able to find it. They carefully started going down it on their knees. A few people had parachutes, and they jumped off the cliff into the fog.

At the bottom there was a sea with four kinds of ships in the harbour: slave ships, warships, luxury liners, and hospital ships. Most were slave ships. The next greatest number was warships. There were only five hospital ships, all of which were on clean, well-kept docks right in the middle of the harbour. The two luxury liners were docked at each end of the harbour. An abundance of supplies were on their docks, but both the docks and ships looked filthy and poorly maintained. No warships were docked, but all kept moving about in the harbour.

The people who fell into the nets were put on the slave ships. Most of those who made it down the steep paths headed for the hospital ships, but many did head for the luxury liners. Of those who headed for the luxury liners, some were captured and forced to board a slave ship. The luxury liners were closely guarded, and obviously under the control of the warships. The warships occasionally took people from the slave ships and luxury liners, and they were taking whoever they wanted – they could not be resisted.

Those from the hospital ships were also taking people from the other ships. However, they only took the weakest or those who were so sick or wounded and not expected to live. The crewmen of the hospital ships were shown respect because they wore brilliant armour that seemed to confound everyone else. Those who were jumping off the cliff with the parachutes were all landing on the hospital ships or their docks.

When a slave ship would fill up it would depart making frequent turns. The warships were also making so many turns that it seemed impossible to tell which way they would go next. Any ship that happened to be in the way of a warship when it turned was blasted and sunk by the warship. If the warships turned toward each other, they started shooting at each other until one was sunk.

Because of the fog, many ships collided with other ships and sank. The water was filled with sharks that quickly devoured those who fell into it. The confusion, despair, and fear over the harbour were as thick as the fog. When the fog thickened, these fears would intensify. When the fog would thin a little, hope would begin to rise in the people. When the fog lifted enough so that the open sea could be seen, the ships would begin heading for it.


The hospital ships were also the only ones who seemed to be sailing as if they knew where they were going. They could sail right through the chaos in the harbour and into the open sea at will. One or two of them were constantly going out to sea, disappearing for a time, and then they would return. Then another would go and do the same. As I followed one of these ships to the open sea in the vision, all of a sudden it was as if I was standing on the bridge of the ship. The farther out we went, the more the sky cleared. Soon it became bluer than I had ever seen it, except when flying in a high altitude jet. I was so intrigued by the sky that I had not been watching the sea. When I looked back at it, I saw that we were actually flying at a very high altitude. I thought that we were going out into space, but soon we descended toward what appeared to be a whole new world. It was composed of islands, each with a different culture of people on it. The wounded on our hospital ship were placed on several of the different islands, so that each wounded person was placed with those from his or her own culture.

These islands were at perfect peace, and there were beautiful white bridges connecting them to one another, with a constant flow of people on the bridges. On each island vast foundations were being laid for a great city. Even though each island was very different, and different from any place that I had ever seen, I felt immediately at home on each one. They were each like paradise, and though they seemed to be on a different world, I knew that they were somehow very close to the one I had just left.

Interpretation and InsightsSeeing the end of this field indicates that the end of our economic prosperity is now in sight. What I saw at the end was catastrophic. There are some very dark times ahead, but at the same time there is a whole new world being built right in our midst that is more wonderful than we can even imagine.

To the degree that we have built our lives and faith on the economy of the world, we have built on a very shaky foundation. We know that the time will come when everything that can be shaken will be. The time that we have been given until that happens is for the purpose of preparation. Let us build our hope and trust on the kingdom that alone cannot be shaken.

Those who kept walking into the fog just as they had been walking in the open field, not discerning or not acknowledging the change, either perished or fell into slavery. Those who immediately fell to their knees found a safe way down, but it still led down. They had to stay on their knees all the way; no one could have stood up on that slope because it was too steep and narrow. Falling to our knees speaks of prayer. As soon as we see the fog, or confusion, we must pray for every step we take thereafter. That no one ascended, but all went down to the bottom of the cliff, spoke to me that the economy of the whole world was going down. Many will survive what is coming, but not at the level they are presently. Much of our present standard of living has been built upon credit, borrowing from the future, and the future is now here. We are fast approaching the time when the bills will have to be paid. That will cause a drastic reduction of our present lifestyles.

I felt that the slave ships were banks. During the Great Depression, banks were so over extended that most of them failed. Somehow, they have now positioned themselves to not only survive another economic collapse, but will actually be in a place to enslave those who are in debt to them. The warships were all different sizes, and I felt represented different powers. Their efforts were not coordinated, but they all seemed to be in as much confusion as everyone else, and all seemed to be at war with one another. They lived by plundering the other ships and each other. I believe that in the times ahead, small wars will be flashing up almost everywhere and without apparent reason. Anyone who gets in the way of those with some power will be in trouble. The luxury ships were so filthy* that it seemed only slightly better to be on one of them instead of a slave or warship. It was obvious that the luxury of the future will not be as we know it today. Also, the luxury ships were constantly being plundered by the warships, making them almost an intolerable place to be. Even a hint of luxury in the future may only serve to make us targets.


I knew that the hospital ships were the church. They were glistening white with red crosses on them. They were so bright and clean that they stood out dramatically in this vision. White speaks of purity, and the red crosses spoke to me that they were bearing the cross. Red is also the colour of sacrifice. These ships were so beautiful that anyone would have wanted to be on them. The church will become the most desirable place in the world to be, and the church will become the pure vessel she is called to be when she takes up the cross, committing herself to the life of sacrifice. In the times ahead, the life of sacrifice and service to others will be the most desirable life in the world and will actually be a glorious place to dwell. The people on the hospital ships each wore brilliant, silver armour. They, too, stood out dramatically whenever they appeared, and this caused everyone to show them great respect, even the warships. This spoke to me that when believers learn to wear their armour, they will command the whole world's respect and have authority because of it. They have been refined like silver.

The docks of the hospital ships were also spotless and were overflowing with supplies. There was far more wealth on them than on the luxury ships, but the wealth was being used for service, not luxury. Because the individuals with the armour and the hospital ships commanded such respect, no one was trying to plunder their great stocks of supplies, even though they were obvious to everyone. When a hospital ship pulled between two warships that were fighting, they would stop fighting and give them their wounded. It seemed that this was one of the primary purposes of these ships, to simply stop the fighting whenever they could. In the midst of the chaos of this place, the dignity, resolve, and purpose that the Christians and their ships moved with was stunning. The greatest feeling came over me when I stood on the bridge of the ship leaving for the open sea. That feeling was freedom. As soon as we entered the open sea, we ascended into the heavenly places. Once out of the fog, we did not travel on the earth. When we came back down, it was to a seemingly new earth, even though I knew somehow that it was right in the middle of what I had left. That I entered this extraordinary freedom on a hospital ship speaks of finding our true peace when we take up our crosses to serve others. When we do this, we will begin to dwell in the heavenly places. Then we will see the earth very differently – we will see what God is doing. I really felt that those paradise islands were already right in our midst, but we just could not see them yet.

At the very time when the world descends into a terrible chaos, which will probably begin with economic chaos, God is building bridges between people that will be the foundation of a glorious future. The end of this age is the beginning of the one over which Christ will reign.

In Revelation 17:15 we are told that, “The waters which you saw where the harlot sits, are peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues.” The sea often represents mass humanity in prophetic language. That the sea at the bottom of the cliff was in the most terrible chaos represents what the kingdoms of this world are headed for. The islands represent that the Lord is also laying a foundation for His kingdom right in our midst at this same time. That I knew these islands were close to the sea of confusion spoke to me that what the Lord is about to build on the earth is also very close at hand.

The bridges are right now being built between people. The bridges were for interchange, and it was obvious to me that each island was building something wonderful, as if it were the very best from their culture in order to share it with the other islands. That new foundations were being laid for cities represented a whole new beginning for the earth. What is now being built for the Lord, for the sake of His kingdom, will remain and be a foundation for the age to come.

*Related to the luxury ships being filthy, in February 2013, a cruise ship described as a 'floating toilet' for the unsanitary conditions on board had to be towed by tug boats to port after an engine fire left it adrift in the Gulf of Mexico. Passengers described overflowing toilets, sewage backed up in showers, scarce food, people getting sick and a tent city on what was supposed to be a tanning deck. What began as a four-day luxury dream cruise in the Gulf of Mexico turned into a vacation nightmare. I felt this news story confirmed Rick Joyner's message Dreams or Nightmare?


Summary

Lawless riots, massive earthquakes, huge tsunamis and economic meltdown can be a bitter pill to swallow all at once. However, we must wake up to the fact that God is not obliged to keep Western 'Civilisation' going. He is not bound to preserve things that no longer fulfil the purposes for which He brought them into being. On the contrary, as a God of righteousness and justice, He is obliged to bring both redemptive and final judgments upon individuals, communities and nations who have rejected the revelation of mercy and grace that He brought to them.

I believe the Lord is providing a warning to Western nations not to tolerate the division of a restored nation of Israel, and particularly the city of Jerusalem. There does not have to be a perfect correlation between every time of discussion about "land for peace" in Israel and a major disaster occurring. As has been detailed, significant disasters, sometimes like that of Hurricane Katrina that producing an exaggerated mirror effect of mass evacuation, can be "signs" that the Lord erects in history so that those who "see" them can understand and modify what they are doing. Redemptive judgements of God provide an opportunity for a change of mind and a change of direction (repentance).

When thy judgements are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. Isaiah 26:9

In history, we can that outbreaks of lawless rioting can be triggered in times of social upheaval such as economic depression or natural catastrophe. Looters and others took to shooting at rescue helicopters when New Orleans was flooded. We have no guarantee of peace in our communities when God's righteous laws are ignored. Previous generations sowed the wind and we are reaping the whirlwind (Hosea 8:7). In terms of governments and nations, we could quickly apply the following and still live to possess our inheritance.

Follow what is altogether just (uncompromisingly righteous), that you may live and inherit the land which your God gives you. Deuteronomy 16:20 (AMP)

In terms of individuals, we can humbly apply the following and enter into a different kind of inheritance. We may be about to see a series of massive waves crash upon what we presumed was built upon the Rock only to find that it was built on sand (Matthew 7:24-27), but we can be saved from an eternal judgement that far worse than any catastrophe we may witness on earth.

And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ Acts 2:21

Testing Prophetic Revelations

The three potential sources of any claimed "revelation" are God, the devil or merely human origin. We need to test revelation to see if it is from God. Satan has always tried to deceive (Matthew 24:24), so we must weigh it (1 Corinthians 14:29) and thoroughly test it (1 John 4:1), examining it and the spirit behind it. Human vessels that God uses bring revelation are imperfect. Therefore Paul the apostle said, “Do not treat prophecies with contempt. Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil.” 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22

The following general principles are given to help you test prophetic messages.

Does the message glorify Jesus? A message may sound encouraging and Scriptural, but if it detracts from Jesus as Lord of all and points instead to any other person, it should be rejected (John 16:13-14 and Revelation 19:10).

What fruit does this message produce? It should not confuse, produce condemnation or otherwise discourage the people of God. It may admonish or be a reproof. Conviction is not the same as condemnation. Conviction leads to repentance. Condemnation offers no hope. A message may focus upon an area of failure but can also point the way to the forgiveness of God.

Does the message produce freedom and life? " ...the truth shall set you free." John 8:32

"The letter kills but the spirit gives life." 2 Corinthians 3:6

Does the message agree with the letter and Spirit of Scripture? It must line up with, or be within the riverbed of Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16). It ought not to claim to add to Scripture – see Revelation 22:18-19. If it contains slander or accusation, then we must disregard it.

When not specifically addressed by Scripture, we must have other tests. One sign of its veracity, is its accuracy (Deuteronomy 18:22) – it comes to pass! Suppose it does not come to pass? Our first response might be – false prophecy! Perhaps it was not. The fulfilment of prophecy can depend on our response to it – if we respond in a certain way, it will not come to pass! The Ninevites repented when warned by Jonah, and his predications did not come to pass at the time he said they would (Jonah 3:4-5). Although this caused loss of face for the prophet, the heart of God was towards the repentant Ninevites. We cannot judge prophecy by its fulfilment alone – there are other factors at work. For example, in 2004 Robert Holmes gave a prophetic word in Kitwe, Zambia about a coming mine disaster causing deaths. The local church repented and prayed earnestly for the disaster to be averted. In 2005, an explosion and flood took place in one of the mines, but there were no casualties – Robert brought an accurate word, and an appropriate response by the people averted the worst effects of the catastrophe.

We are told to test the spirits to see if they are of God (1 John 4:1). We use the spiritual gift of discernment (1 Corinthians 12:10) and our own wisdom from our experience of testing (Hebrews 5:14). These two kinds of discernment – the spiritual and the natural – protect us from evil. God promises to give wisdom to all who ask (James 1:5) – we can seek God for wisdom about revelations.

True revelation will never result in the loss of hope. Faith, hope and love are fundamental to our relationship with God. Prophecy may indicate hard times are coming – but should point to God’s promise in the difficulty – which leads to hope (Romans 5:3-5). Regrettably, some mixed prophecy may give false hope that can make hearts sick with waiting (Proverbs 13:12).
