Respondents from community centers performed better in budgeting and usage than other facility types.
More likely than other respondents to have an increase to revenues in 2009 over 2008
Less likely than others to report a decrease in revenues in all the years covered by the study
Community centers operate leaner then average with the lowest operating budgets, and number of staff members
3. Facility Plans
More than half of community center respondents had plans for construction in the next three years
On average they are planning on spending 2,815,000 on the plans which is 36.9 percent less than the average for all facility types
Most popular additions being added:
- Splash play areas
- Turf sports fields
-Shelters and restroom buildings
-Fitness centers
- Locker rooms
-Concession areas
-Playgrounds
-Exercise studio rooms
-Bleachers and seating
-Trails
4. Programming
Main concern from respondents from community centers was marketing and increasing participation at their facilities
