premised on making sure that

personnel and payroll

processes are coordinated

between the head office and

ships at sea, thus reducing the

disruptive impacts of their

geographical distance. It is

precisely the distance between

office and ship that have

traditionally hindered efficient

HR procedures for many

maritime organizations.

Costly and inefficient

satellite-based Internet

connections, which may be

totally absent at some times of

day in some parts of the world,

make it difficult to achieve

efficient teamwork and smooth

work flow among ships, local

offices and head office. With

our solutions, shipping

companies can connect with

their ships as though they were

ordinary local offices working

within the same system, for all

intents and purposes

eliminating geographical

barriers.

”The Adonis Solution” is

based on a specially developed

replication engine, which

ensures that office and ship

have synchronized data

available at all times. The

replication is set up with the

frequency desired by the

customer – many set it for as

little as every 15-30 minutes.

The actual data exchange

takes place using an automated

e-mail or FTP service. If poor or

non-existent Internet coverage

means that the replication

ceases for a period, the work on

board will continue normally as

the systems do not depend on

on-line contact in order to

function. As soon as the ship

returns to an area with Internet

coverage, synchronization

between the databases on

board and in the office is

automatically initiated, so that

fresh data for all HR procedures

is available at all times.

Who are we?Adonis AS is a Norwegian software house

that has established itself as a leading

supplier of integrated HR and payroll systems

to the Norwegian and international shipping

and offshore industries. We have been in the

maritime market for more than 27 years and

our hallmark has always been a high degree

of customer loyalty. Our system solutions are

based on a comprehensive portfolio of

programs, including the products Adonis

Personnel Manager© for office and on board,

Adonis Payroll© with supplementary modules,

Adonis Web Recruitment© and Adonis

Personnel Portal©, which includes electronic

time recording and employee accounts. We

also deliver all types of consultancy service

for the installation, maintenance and

operation of our systems.

Our concept, ”The Adonis Solution”, is

based on companies with operations in many

countries, and often across several

continents, being able to manage all their HR

processes in a unitary system, whereby ships

and other floating installations with restricted

Internet access can work seamlessly with

their shore departments, local offices and

agents.

In addition to ordinary licensed systems

that are installed by the customer on its

network and on board ship, Adonis runs its

own ASP server park. We use this to offer our

customers worldwide the opportunity to run

our systems via the Internet.

The company has a Triple-A rating from

Bisnode (formerly Dun & Bradstreet), a

distinction that is achieved by around 3% of

Norwegian limited companies.

Adonis celebrated its 25th anniversary in

2013. Since then, sales have increased by

50%.

Brief facts about usIn 2014, the flow of new contracts has been

particularly large in the USA, especially in the

cruise and cruise-related business areas. The

American market is defined as a strategic

priority area for the company.

34 people, including 15 women, 19 men and

7 different nationalities are directly involved

in development, support and sales of our

products worldwide. 9 staff members are

located in Norway.

In 2013, the company concluded a

development contract with DFDS AS Seaways

in Denmark with a view to delivering a

complete, fully integrated solution adapted

to international ferry operations. This was the

largest and most comprehensive contract in

our history.

In 2013, Crystal Cruises purchased our

electronic time capture system, Adonis Time

Clock©, which automates and simplifies the

processes of time capture and checking on

board. This solution meets the requirements

for documenting work and rest time as

mandated in the Maritime Labor Convention

(MLC) from ILO.

Adonis offer seamless integration with 15

different financial systems, more than 20

bank systems and the leading aircraft

booking system on the world market.

All of Adonis systems are supplied with

English, Norwegian, Portuguese and Spanish

as end-user language options.

Ownership and members of the boardAdonis AS is a privately held company whose management

team has a majority ownership. Adonis has issued 13,964

shares; each has a face value of NOK 50. Approximately 52% of

the shares are owned by Chairman of the Board, Per Ove

Kviteberg, who is also Adonis’ Sales Director, and Chief

Financial Officer Bente Kviteberg. Product Director Erick Meijer

owns 20 %, while the company founder, (ret.) Arne Gjerde har

holds 15%. Other staff, and several external shareholders,

including Kristian Eidesvik’ s Caiano Invest, the largest external

shareholder, own the remaining shares.
