Paragraphs Have Purpose
Introduction: Paragraph 1 Include a topic sentence which tells the
reader what your essay is mostly about.
Every essay has a topic/main idea. Every paragraph in the essay has its own
topic.
Paragraphs Have Purpose
Body: Paragraphs 2-4 Often begin with a transitional
expression: First…, Next…, The final place…
Each paragraph has it’s own sub-topic which is stated at the beginning.
The remaining sentences give examples to support the sub-topic.
