Padding Papers with Plagiarism? In an academic setting we are often asked to research topics and include the information in papers, PowerPoints and other written formats. Research happens in almost all areas of study, not just English classes. Unfortunately, we don’t all realize that copying, changing a few words or failing to document our sources pads our papers with plagiarism. Therefore, we will discuss why we need research to support our ideas, how we should find good sources, why plagiarizing is stealing and how we can avoid plagiarizing.

Effective Professional Presentations or “How to tell your story and make them care.”
We have all sat through “death by PowerPoint” and wondered that surely there must be a better way to give this information. Whether your next presentation is in a classroom to your classmates or in a business setting with your peers or customers, you will be called upon to present. PowerPoint as a tool is fantastic but in the untrained hands can be deadly…or at least feel like death. This session will cover do’s and don’ts for speaking to large and small groups. What an effective PPT slide looks like and plenty of examples of what they should not look like. How to manage your time and engage the audience to maximize the experience. Whether you present in boardrooms, break rooms or classrooms, the lessons learned here will put you ahead of the pack. The session is 60 minutes.
