CONTENTS
What are silicone fluids?• Silicone fluids are very transparent silicone polymers
commonly known as oils, silicones or dimethicones.
• !e most common of these, the PMX-200 is available
in viscosities between 0.65 and 1,000,000 mPa·s and in
different formats from 4 kg to 1.000 kg.
• !e PMX-561 is the dielectric used for transformers.
What are emulsions?• Silicone emulsions are whitish stable mixtures of silicone
and water.
e advantages of using them instead of fluids are:
• For easy processing by using a water-based silicone.
• !e stability of their emulsions and dilution.
• !ey are available in a wide range of pH’s and of silicone
active substance.
• MEM-0036, MEM-0346, MEM-0347G.
• Emulsifiers and de-emulsifiers.
• Antifoams and defoamers.
• Polyurethane foam stabilizers.
• Shine enhancers.
• Release agents.
• So"eners and conditioners.
• Water-proofing agents.
FLUIDS AND EMULSIONS
• Additives for paints and dyes.
• Heat transfer fluids.
• Hydraulic fluids.
• Damping fluids (dampers).

What are antifoams?
• Antifoams improve production processes, from
dyeing textiles and fermentation, to the manu-
facturing and use of detergents.
• !e silicone antifoam compounds are composed
of silicone and silica fluids.
• Powdered silicone antifoams are composed of
antifoam compounds and a solid agent.
• Silicone antifoams emulsions are stable mixtures
of antifoams compunds and water:
- Silicone antifoam compound (dispersed phase).
- Water (continuous phase).
- One of more surfactants.
- Stabilizing additives.
ANTIFOAMS
Reduces the formation of foam in the production process or when using:
• Detergents for clothes.
• Industrial paper mills and paper processing.
• Food industry processes, with FDA regulation.
• Beer fermentation and distillery processing, juices and general drinks.
• Dyeing processes in the textile industry.
• Pesticide processes
• Water filling and mixing of liquids.

RESINS
What are resins?
• Silicone resins, when used as coatings offer an extraordinary and lasting resistance at extreme external external temperatures up to 760ºC, to corrosion, humidity, to electrical shocks and to ag-gressive surroundings.
Silicone resins are complex tridimensional structures made of highly branched siloxane poly-mers. "ey require very high temperatures of curing. "ey are compatible with most organic resins, easily pigmented and exist in solid form and liquid form, pure or dilated in organic solvents.
• As binding agents for paints used in high temperatures such as exhaust pipes, boilers, pots,
heaters and chimneys.
• In protective and antifouling paints for ships.
• As varnishes for coating glass cloth, for impregnating and protecting electric coils and resis-
tors.
• As non-stick industrial coatings.
• Coatings to protect transformers and solenoids from dampness.

RELEASE AGENTS
What are release agents?
• Silicone release agents can be emulsions or resins and can be used as such for all types of products such as plastics, rubbers, metals…
6
¿What are Silanes? • Made up of 4 different chemical groups, these
versatile silicones help improve adhesion and
electrical properties.
Silanes help to improve:
• Mechanical resistance, acting as
crosslinkers.
• Electrical properties.
• Resistance to humidity in polymers.
• Repelling of water.
• Adhesion, they are used as adherence
promoters.
• Compatibility.
• Dispersion of pigments, minerals, and
charges.
SILANES AND WATER REPELLANTS
Main applications water repellent
Brick treated with Dow Corning Z-6689 Water repellent
Concrete treated with Dow corning Z-6689 Water repellent
Wood treated with Dow corning 2-9034 Emulsion
Silanes and some derivative products with siloxa-
ne mixture or siliconates have a significant pur-
pose for use in construction, serving as water re-
pellents for building materials, as protectors from
environmental conditions, to reduce staining, or
to improve the fragility of some materials.

SILICONE RUBBER 1
What are silicone rubbers? • Silicone rubber is an inorganic synthetic elastomer composed of cross-linked polymer (base), catalyst,
pigments and various filling additives to improve different properties of the mix.
"ere are 2 different product formats:
• HCR high consistency rubber (thick). Used when a more specific formula is required (over 500
references) for large parts and medium-small series. Bases are only available for formulation or
prepared compounds for direct use.
• LSR liquid rubber (fluid). A pumpable fluid. For small and/or complex parts to be molded and
for long series.

compression molding, or transfer.
SILICONE RUBBER 2
Main usage for silicone rubber:
• Shock absorbers, they absorb vibration and crashes in high/low temperatures, like those needed for
example, in the automotive industry.
• Sealing rings for storage in food industry and abrasive liquids.
• Tubing or framing for work in extreme temperatures.
• Electric isolation, due to its dielectric properties.
• Flame-resistant coatings for electric cables.
Fluorosilicone (FSR) vs Viton• Fluorosilicone elastomers are used
in demanding applications where fuel resistance, low-temperature performance and high-temperatu-re performance are required.
• In comparison with FKM (Viton) FSR has better mechanical proper-ties with high and very low tempe-ratures, and a better cost.
CURE SYSTEMS
Pros
• Longest life compound.
• Low cost.
Cons
• By-products and smell.
• Can be eliminated a!er cu-

What is moldmaking? From the manufacturing materials used for silicone molds, it is possible to create hard but flexible molds for reproducing intricate detail and creating high quality replicas again and again.
"ese can be used with the originals made from stone, glass, wood, metal, wax, ceramics, plaster and clay and are compatible with a wide range of molding materials.
Each moldmaking product is made up of two compo-
nents: a base of liquid silicone rubber and a catalyst
or cure agent. "ere are two basic types of curing,
condensation curing or addition curing. For each
type of curing, we offer several products in a range of
viscosities and variable cure times.
Main usage for molding products:
• To reproduce figures, jewellery, candles…
• For prototype molds, furniture, industrial tools…
• Rubber pads for transfer printing.
