The costs of making, storing and testing of concrete test cubes as required under clause 7 "Tests" of SABS 1200 G shall include the cost of providing cube moulds necessary for the purpose, for testing costs and for submitting reports on the tests to the architect. The testing shall be undertaken by an independent firm or institution nominated by the contractor to the approval of the architect. (Test cubes are measured separately)

Breeze concrete shall consist of twelve parts clean dry furnace ash, free from coal or other foreign matter, to one part cement (12:1), the ash graded up to particles which will pass a 16,5mm ring from a minimum which fails to pass a 4,75mm mesh. The finer materials from the screening are to be first mixed with the cement into a mortar and the ash added afterwards and thoroughly incorporated

Foamcement lightweight concrete is to have a density of 600kg/m3 for the top 50mm and 400kg/m3 for the remaining thickness. The minimum thickness at outlets, channels, etc shall be 50mm

Celbeton lightweight concrete is to have a density of 1000kg/m3 for the top 20mm and 480kg/m3 for the remaining thickness. The minimum thickness at outlets, channels, etc shall be 30mm

Description of formwork shall be deemed to include use and waste only (except where described as "left in" or "permanent"), for fitting together in the required forms, wedging, plumbing and fixing to true angles and surfaces as necessary to ensure easy release during stripping and for reconditioning as necessary before re-use

The vertical strutting shall be carried down to such construction as is sufficiently strong to afford the required support without damage and shall remain in position until the newly constructed work is able to support itself.

Formworks to soffits of solid etc shall be deemed to be slabs not exceeding 250mm thick unless otherwise described

Formwork to sides of bases, pile caps, ground beams, etc will only be measured where it is prescribed by the engineer for design reasons. Formwork necessitated by irregularity or collapse of excavated faces will not be measured and the cost thereof shall be deemed to be included in the allowance for taking the risk of collapse of the sides of the excavations, provision for which is made in "Earthworks"

All roofs to receive a permanent harness anchor systemsimilar to the travsafe lifeline system supplied and installed by Phakimisa Industries.

Roofing/Side Cladding shall be Brownbuilt profile roll-formed in continuous lengths from certified Galvanized steel Z275 0.8mm (Heavy Industrial) complying with ISQ 300 and fixed to steel purlins/girts using D1 Starting clips, D2 Duplex clips and D3 Finishing clips and class 3 fastners, in strict accordance with manufacturer’s specifications by a Global Roofing Solutions Approved Contractor. A written and approved five year guarantee of water-tightness shall be required.

Flashings shall be manufactured from Galvanized steel Z275 0.8mm and fixed by way of S1 brackets or, Sliding brackets at apex where roof sheets are 30m or longer, all in strict accordance with manufacturer’s specification using the appropriate tools available from Global Roofing Solutions.

Safintra 0.50mm thick 700mm cover SAFLOK 700 dove grey Chromodek ISQ550 interlocking roof covering or similar approved with Z275 spelter to both sides fixed to timber purlins at 975mm centres and ridge purlins at 829mm centres using galvanised S700 clips secured to purlins with 3No 12x45mm class 3 wafer head self tapping screws all in accordance with manufacturers recommendations.

Sisalation FR 430 fire retardant or similar approved industrial grade reinforced aluminium foil insulation double sides, durable, reflective foil laminate incorporating a fire retardant between the various substrates, bonded together with low density polyethene, tested for conformance with SANS 1381-4:2009, with a Class 1 fire rating in accordance with SANS 10177 - 3:2005 and ASTME84 and BS 476 part 5, 6 and 7 with purlins spaced at greater than 1500mm centres drawn tautly across rafters with purlins spaced at greater than 1500mm centres and secured to each rafter with 38mm x 3.2mm x 1100mm hardboard counter batten strips positioned flush with the bottom edge of the material thus leaving 150mm overlap exposed at the top for the next layer and 150mm overlap thereafter on each 1250mm width roll.

PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE (PROVISIONAL)

Pipes shall be jointed with ogee joints with rubber collars or socket and spigot joints with rubber rings

Pipes shall rest on solid ground and, where necessary, pockets of sufficient size shall be cut around joints to enable the jointing to be properly performed or, alternatively, pipes shall be bedded full length on and including unreinforced concrete laid in a semi-dry state immediately before pipes are laid

Pipes of 50mm diameter and greater shall have sockets and spigots with push in type integral rubber ring joints. Bends shall be uPVC and all other fittings shall be cast iron, all with similar push-in type joints

Pipes shall be hard drawn and half-hard pipes of the class stated. Class 0 (thin walled hard drawn) pipes shall not be bent. Class 1 (thin walled half-hard), class 2 (half-hard) and class 3 (heavy walled half-hard) pipes shall only be bent with benders with inner and outer formers. Fittings to copper waste, vent and anti-syphon pipes, capillary solder fittings and compression fittings shall be "Cobra Watertech" type. Capillary solder fittings shall comply with ISO 2016. Only compression fittings shall be used in walls or in ground

Unless specifically otherwise stated, descriptions of pipes shall be deemed to include fixing to walls etc, casting in, building in or suspending not exceeding 1m below suspension level

Where fittings have reducing ends or branches they are described as "reducing". In the case of pipes with diameters not exceeding 60mm only the largest end or branch size is given. Should the contractor wish to use other fittings and bushes or reducers he may do so on the understanding that no claim in this regard will be entertained. In the case of pipes with diameters exceeding 60mm all sizes are given and no claim for extra bushes, reducers, etc will be entertained

No claim for rock excavation will be entertained unless the contractor has timeously notified the quantity surveyor thereof prior to backfilling

Pipes shall be laid and bedded and trenches shall be carefully backfilled in accordance with manufacturers' instructions

Where no manufacturers' instructions exist pipes shall be laid in accordance with clauses 5.1 and 5.2 of each of the following: SABS 1200 L : Medium-pressure pipelines LD : Sewers LE : Stormwater drainage Pipe trenches etc shall be backfilled in accordance with clauses 3, 5.5, 5.6, 5.7 and 7 of SABS 1200 DB : Earthworks (Pipe trenches) Pipes shall be bedded in accordance with clauses 3.1 to 3.4.1, 5.1 to 5.3 and 7 of SABS 1200 LB : Bedding (Pipes). Unless otherwise described bedding of rigid pipes shall be class B bedding

Units shall have standard aprons on all exposed edges and tiling keys against walls where applicable

Descriptions of waste unions shall be deemed to include rubber or vulcanite plugs and chains fixed to fittings

Pipes to be taped shall be coated with the appropriate primer and the tape shall be applied with minimum 15mm lap per spiral unless otherwise described

This includes all COC's and compliance with all local and national regulations where required.

Cost Price Adjustments

Proportions/weightings in CPA Formulae: The fixed portion of each formula, not subject to CPA, must be at least 15% but Tenderers may submit higher fixed portion percentages. The other constituent indices and their proportions in each formula must be realistic and relative to the applicable work. The fixed portion and other proportions must add up to 100%.

Formulae must be linked to independent cost indices or other benchmarks ("reference prices") and must be clearly and completely defined. The source must be a recognised and independent statistical publishing organisation. The Tenderers' in-house indices may not be used. The prescribed indices for this enquiry have been stipulated under the worksheet "Prescribed indices" in the adjacent worksheet

The Tenderer must submit 5 years' of month by month historical data for all indices used. The Tenderer must ensure that indices are published and recommended by the source thereof as applicable to the work involved and that they are still in force/use and applicable at the date of submission of the tender.

CPA Base Date: The CPA base date for calculating price movements will be the Month before Tender closes. For indices or reference prices published as at certain dates, and where such a date is not the Base Date, the latest date for which it is published before the Base Date will be considered as the Base Date index or reference price. In instances where the figure or value is not as at the Base Date or considered as the Base Date Index or reference price as explained herein, the date, figure or value as well as the reason for the deviation must be clearly separately stated and must be realistic for purposes of CPA.

Note: If the CPA Formulae are not updated, the tendered prices will be taken to be "Firm and Fixed"

CPAP will not be effected within the first 12 months of the Contract.

1. The project manager shall calculate an adjustment amount for each valuation period in respect of each work group by the application of the formula:

A = 0.85 x V ( Xe Xo

A = the adjustment amount

0.85 = a constant which provides for a 15% non-adjustable element

V = the work value in such work group and the valuation period

Xe = the value of the index applicable to such work group and the valuation period for the

calendar month during which the payment certificate is dated

Xo = the value of the index applicable to such work group for the base month
