Formed in 2006, Ljova and theKontraband has performed inNew Yorks Lincoln Centre andMuseum of Modern Art, andwas the opening act for a recentSundance Film Festival.
The band also performs regu-larly at Joes Pub, one of the topmusic venues in Manhattan.

IN a rare and exciting col-laboration, some great worldmusicians will be appear-ing at the Queens Hall thisSunday.
The two groups, picked frominternational showcases appear-ing at WOMEX 2013, will make a
stage appearance in Narberth aspart of the Wales-wide Hori-zons tour, co-produced by CreuCymru and Theatr Mwldan andhosted by the Torch Theatre andSpan Arts.
The event takes place inCardiff from October 23-27,presented by Cerdd Cymru/Mu-sic Wales.
More than 30 artists andgroups from across the worldwill be performing, and morethan 2,500 delegates from morethan 90 countries will attend.The Horizons tour will ensurethat the rest of Wales gets to
enjoy some of the globes finestmusic.
Heading up Narberths tourdate is Ghazalaw, a unique andexquisite collaboration thatbrings together the sublimeIndian Ghazal and the Welshfolk traditions. The six-piece is
led by Mumbai singer TauseefAkhtar and Cardiff singer-songwriter Gwyneth Glyn, whoweave the love poetry of theirtwo ancient traditions together.They are accompanied byharmonium, rising star GeorgiaRuth on Welsh harp, ManasKumar on Indian violin, AshishJha on tabla and Sanjoy Das onguitar.
