Manipur is famous for its cultural heritage, arts, sports and its God gifted flora and fauna with variedscenic picturesque of valleys and hills. Sangai (brow antlered deer) an endangered species, Siroi Lili found onlyin the soils of Siroi hills, Dzuko Lily only found in Dzuko Valley, varied rare orchids available only in the forests ofManipur (with it’s man made parks), Loktak lake with its floating huts are worth seeing. INA memorial ParkMoirang, Khongjom War memorial park, Shree Shree Govindajee temple, Kangla fort, Imphal Museum, Imamarket (only run by women), Imphal war cemetery will provide further scenic spots where you will enjoy memorablemoments.

*Shumang means ‘open courtyard’ and ‘leela’ means play and literal meaning of Shumang leela is“play of the open courtyard”. It has affinity with proscenium theatre in form however it is performedin an open courtyard surrounded by spectators on all four sides. Besides, male artistes act in thefemale role. Now-a-days shumang leela has two types - 1) Nupa (male) Shumang leela, performedonly by male artistes; ii) Nupi (female) Shumang leela, performed only by female artistes.
