From Bloomberg Philanthropies to Singapore to Switzerland, Paris etc.…. the list of developed economies and smart city administration engaged are growing by the day.

As recent as 18th March, Economic Times reported that there is precious little clarity at the government levelas to what comprises a smart city. This while reporting that the first tender under the 7000 Crore Smart Citiesproject has been cancelled.

What is a Smart City?

…. But first why call it a ‘smart’ city? Why not ‘efficient’… or ‘green’…. or even ‘model’ city?
