A rapidly growing economy in the Asian subcontinent has led to growing affluence and major
life-style changes. With the dramatic rise in the incidence of Obesity, Type II Diabetes Mellitus
and Metabolic Syndrome, there is an urgent need to define the parameters for Metabolic and

management option that provides significant and sustained weight loss in morbidly obese
patients. Rapid advances are being made in Metabolic surgery to treat the associated
co-morbidities like Type II Diabetes Mellitus that commonly co-exist with morbid obesity.
The IFSO 2012 World Congress is a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary forum where leading
national and international experts will conduct a critical review. The Congress shall provide
a platform to address and debate on the recent advances and challenges in the field of
Metabolic and Bariatric surgery.

his friend Sir Herbert Baker was formally inaugurated in 1931.
The Rajpath, formerly known as King's Way, runs from west to east with
the Rashtrapati Bhavan at one end. This was built as the Viceroy's
residence and today houses the President of India. Down Rajpath, in the
eastern end is India Gate, which commemorates some 90,000 Indian
soldiers who were killed in the First World War.
Further south lies the Qutub Minar complex - the highest stone tower in
India. This landmark of Delhi was built by Qutbuddin Aibak to celebrate Ghori's victory over the Rajputs.
The Humayun's Tomb, built in 1570, is of particular cultural significance as it was the first garden-tomb
on the Indian subcontinent. It inspired several major architectural innovations, culminating in the
construction of the Taj Mahal.
Old Delhi is famous for its distinctly medieval ambience: majestic
monuments, labyrinthine alleys and shopping. Standing on the
banks of the river Yamuna, the huge red sandstone Lal Qila or Red
Fort was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan with the ambition of
concentrating the Mughal power in one monument. Facing the Red
Fort to its west is the colossal Jama Masjid, or Friday Mosque which
can accommodate up to 25,000 worshippers at one time.
Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders
of the world . It was built in 1630 AD by
the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in
memory of his deceased wife, Mumtaz
Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains.
You will also visit the Agra Fort - the seat
and the stronghold of the Mughal
Empire under successive generations.
Taj Mahal is closed every Friday.

India's capital and a major gateway to the country, contemporary Delhi
is a bustling metropolis, which successfully combines in its folds - the
ancient with the modern. Visit to Old Delhi will include visit to the
Jama Masjid and walk upto Chandni Chowk, the famous by lanes of
Old Delhi and drive past Red Fort. The tour also includes a drive past
with photo opportunity of the imposing India Gate, the Parliament
building and the Rastrapati Bhawan, the President's residence.
Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the
world . It is a UNESCO world heritage site. It was
built in 1630 by the Mughal Emperor Shah
Jahan in memory of his deceased wife, Mumtaz
Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains.
The monument has been described as the
most extravagant ever built for love, for the
emperor was heart-broken when Mumtaz
died, to whom he had been married for 17 years. You will also visit Fatehpur Sikri which was built by
Emperor Akbar and served as the capital of Mughal India from 1571 to 1585 AD. The remarkably
preserved sprawling fortress houses many palaces, notable amongst them for their architecture is
Empress Jodha Bai's palace.
Jaipur is an enduring legacy to India's history. A land endowed with invincible forts, magnificent
palaces and waves of sand dunes and serene lakes. No
other region in the country assembles the many
paradoxes of India, as does the desert land of Rajasthan.
By far it is the most colourful region in India. The city of
victory, Jaipur presides over the fascinating desert state
and its people; surrounded by rugged hills, each
crowned by a formidable fort; and beautiful palaces,
mansions and gardens dotted throughout its precincts.
Visit to City Palace, Jal Mahal and elephant ride at
Amber Fort are the highlights of Jaipur tour.
