Diversity in Islam
Within Islam there are different denominations.
Sunni & Sh’ia
Both have the same beliefs but just have different ideas about how a successor should have been chosen after Prophet Mohammed died.
Sunni Muslims believe that after prophet Muhammad died, his successor should have been elected from all people that were capable of doing his job.
The Shi`a on the other hand believe that the leadership should have stayed within the prophets’ family line.
