3. Can you access your Yammer profile on your organizations home network?

- Yes. Proceed to Step 4.

organizations Yammer network and clicking on the Settings and more icon at the top of the left

rail:

5. Confirm your organizations Yammer External Network Settings.

Many organizations have Yammer settings that restrict users from joining external networks

without admin approval. If your organizations settings reflect this option, then you will not be

able to join Azure Advisors without administrator approval. In addition this setting may also

cause impede you from receiving the Azure Advisors Yammer invite via email and may reroute

you to your organizations home Yammer network each time you attempt to login to Azure

Advisors.

- If admin approval is required, proceed to Step 6.

- If admin approval is not required, proceed to Step 7.

To confirm your organizations Yammer External Network Settings, navigate to

https://Yammer.com/YourOrganizationsDomain.com/admin/directory and contact one of the

Verified Admins listed to confirm whether the following setting is enabled:

- require admin approval for YourOrganizationsDomain members to join other companies’

external networks

Page 3: Yammer Troubleshooting for Organizations and Members of ...... · organization has a Yammer network, as Yammer is automatically provisioned with all O365 subscriptions. To access/join

6. Your company requires admin approval to join other companies’ external networks

If your organization has selected to require admin approval before members can join other

companies’ external networks and they are:

- Willing to provide approval: Direct the Yammer Admin to the following url to approve

your request: https://www.yammer.com/YourOrganizationsDomain.com/notifications

Visit this help article for more guidance on approving these requests.

- Not willing to provide approval: Contact Cloud Platform Advisors via email at

7. Verify E-Mail address associated with Yammer profile

It is common that individuals Yammer profiles are associated with a different or legacy E-Mail

alias than the one used to receive E-Mail and/or login to corporate domains. In such cases, the

individual will not be able to join Azure Advisors, as there is a mismatch between the E-Mail

that was used to invite them.

Once you have completed the steps below, proceed to Step 8.

To discover the E-Mail address associated with your Yammer Profile follow the steps

below in order:

I. Sign out of all Microsoft online services

I received the Yammer invitation for Azure Advisors and when I try to login I receive a message that

says, “We’re sorry, you don’t have access to Yammer.”

This error message is because your organization has an O365 subscription, and a Yammer network

but you have not been issued a Yammer license. Your organizations Yammer administrator can

I received the Yammer invitation for Azure Advisors and when the page renders I receive a message

that says, “This network is private. Membership must be approved by an admin. Request an

Invitation.”

This error message is typically caused by a mismatch between the E-Mail that Cloud Platform

profile on your organizations Yammer network. Please follow the steps outlined in Step 7 above

and contact Cloud Platform Advisors via E-Mail [email protected] with the information.

I received the Yammer invitation for Azure Advisors, but each time I click on the link to accept the

invitation and login with my E-Mail I am automatically rerouted to my organizations Yammer network.
