Yato - Extreme Conditions & Casualty Care Technology

Maintaining thermal comfort in hostile, difficult or remote locations can be a challenge. Deciding which

equipment to take or leave behind can often impact mission success. With Yato Technology from Unleashed

Tactical Equipment the decision may just have got easier.

Yato Technology was developed to provide thermal management in clothing, tents and other military and law enforcment

products. It does this through the use of innovative materials that reflect high levels of thermal energy while at the same

time emitting very little thermal radiation.

The Yato Effect

In simple terms the Yato Effect reduces the amount of energy we lose or gain from the environment or atmosphere. In shortit slows our heating up or cooling down depending on the where and how we use it.

For example, the graph to the right displays the Yato Effect in a micro

observation tent over a relatively short period of time. Two tents were

prepared with data logging equipment and allowed to stabilise in the

outdoors at an ambient temperature of -4°C. Observers manned the tents

and air temperatures inside the tents were measured and logged.

The black line shows the air temperature in the tent without Yato

Technology. The red line shows the air temperature within the tent equipped

with Yato Technology. Not only was the initial temperature drop less severe

with the Yato fitted tent, the temperature remained significantly higher for the

duration of the test. Further testing verified that in extreme conditions, Yato

Technology significantly and positively affected the user experience.

Yato Technology does the same trick in hot environments. Traditional tents and shelters absorb high thermal loads in

desert environments. With Yato Technology thermal radiation is reflected away from the surface of the technology and any

conducted heat is not emitted into the shelter

Heat In, Heat Out...Plus

Yato Technology has another trick up it’s sleeve. The properties of the material are extremely resistant to microbial

growth. Meaning that the effects of smells, germs and bacteria, often the cause of discomfort and sickness in long

term, static, observation posts are greatly reduced.

It doesn’t stop there. The nature of the material does not allow static to build up that could

affect sensitive equipment or to be the possible source of ignition sparks. In

addition Yato can be configured to provide isolation between RF

dependant equipment even in very close proximity.
