The Air Navigation Regulations (ANR) 1999 contain provisions restricting aircraftmovements at Gold Coast Airport between 2300-0600 Queensland local time. Penaltiesmay be assessed for any unauthorized operations during the curfew, and for failure toprovide information or for the provision of false information. Permitted Aircraft Movements

Only the following aircraft may take off or land at Gold Coast Airport between 2300-0600 local time:

a. Propeller-driven aircraft with a MTOW of 34,000kg (74,957 lbs) or less;

b. Jet aircraft with a MTOW of 34,000kg (74,957 lbs) or less which meet special lownoise standards specified in the regulations.

c. Passenger and freight jet aircraft that have been permitted to operate under spe-cific quota provisions contained in the regulations.

d. Aircraft permitted under use as an alternate airport and,e. Aircraft permitted under emergencies and dispensations.

Use as an Alternate Airport

Aircraft engaged in an international air service which is diverted to Gold Coast Airportmay land and take-off during the curfew period without prior approval.

Aircraft engaged in a domestic air service which is diverted to Gold Coast Airport mayland during the curfew period without prior approval. Take-offs may be undertaken onlyoutside the curfew hours.

Emergencies

These restrictions do not apply to flights operating under the following circumstances:a. Aircraft being used for, or in connection with:

1. a search and rescue operation;

2. a medical emergency;

3. a natural disaster.

b. The pilot has declared an inflight emergency.

c. The aircraft has insufficient fuel to be diverted to another airport.

d. There is an urgent need for the aircraft to land or takeoff:

1. to ensure the safety or security of the aircraft or any person;

2. to avoid damage to property.

Dispensations

An operator may apply to the Secretary of the Department of Infrastructure, Transport,Regional Development and Local Government for a dispensation in exceptional circum-stances. Requests for dispensations should be made to telephone number 02-62746100or 1300 307288, or email address: transport.security @infrastructure.gov.au

Further InformationFurther information on the Gold Coast Curfew may be obtained from the Department ofInfrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government on telephonenumber 02-62746690 or 62747671 during business hours.

NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES

PREFERRED RUNWAYS (all hours) - Applicable to all aircraft.

Jet Noise Abatement climb procedures apply.

The departure procedure to be used on a specific departure should satisfy the noiseabatement objectives of the aerodrome operator in alleviating noise either close to theaerodrome or distant from the aerodrome. Examples of such procedures are given inPANS-OPS Vol. I, Part V, Chapter 3 (NDAP 1 and NDAP 2).

Operators of aircraft which have engines with a bypass ratio greater than 3.5:1 mayuse the following procedure:

1. climb at V2+10 kt to V2+20 kt - or body angle limit speed; and

2. maintain take-off power to a height above the aerodrome of 1000 ft;

3. then, maintaining a positive rate of climb, accelerate to zero flap minimum safemaneuvering speed (VZF) retracting flaps on schedule;

4. then reduce to normal climb power / thrust; and

NOTE: For airplanes with slow flap retraction, reduce power/thrust at an inter-mediate flap setting.5. continue climb at not greater than VZF+10 kt to a height above the aerodrome of

3000 ft;

6. accelerate smoothly to enroute climb speed; and

7. maintain runway heading unless required to do otherwise in accordance with aSID or specific ATC instruction.

PREFERRED FLIGHT PATHS (during BRISBANE Approach hours of duty)

a. Arriving Aircraft

Maximum use of over water tracking will be utilized until aircraft are establishedon their final approach course. Figure 1 indicates noise sensitive areas. Pilotsshould either avoid these areas where possible, or minimize aircraft noise whileoverflying them.

To assist with noise reduction on final approach, pilots of jet aircraft are requestedto delay flap deployment until as late as is operationally practicable.

b. Jet Aircraft

1. Landing Runway 32From the NORTH - expect to track EAST of the coast for right circuit and, in IMC

expect radar vectors to join final of Rwy 32 instrument approach, or in VMCexpect radar vectors to join centerline Rwy 32 by 10 CG.

From the EAST - in IMC expect radar vectors to join final of Rwy 32 instrumentapproach, or in VMC expect radar vectors to join centerline Rwy 32 by 10 CG.

From the SOUTH or SOUTHWEST - expect to join final of Rwy 32 via STAR oneither a visual or instrument approach.

NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURESDEPARTING AIRCRAFT

a. Jet Aircraft

Jet noise abatement climb procedures apply to runways 14 and 32. Pilots can expectto follow SID Radar procedures.

3. Departing Runway 32 (see NOTE below)To the NORTH - expect a RIGHT turn to become established over water.To the EAST - expect a RIGHT turn to become established over water.To the SOUTH or SOUTHWEST - expect a RIGHT turn to become established over

water until south of Kingscliff (CG R130 / 7 NM) and above 5000 ft.4. Departing Runway 14

To the NORTH - expect a LEFT turn to become established over water.To the EAST - expect to maintain runway track until established over water.To the SOUTH or SOUTHWEST - expect a minor RIGHT turn until passing 5 DME.

b. Non-Jet Aircraft

To assist in traffic management, ATC may vary flight paths when necessary.

5. Departing Runway 32 (see NOTE below)To the NORTH - expect a minor RIGHT turn to become established over water

until above 3000 ft.To the SOUTH or SOUTHWEST - expect a RIGHT turn to become established over

water until above 3000 ft.6. Departing Runway 14

To the NORTH - expect a LEFT turn to become established over water until above3000 ft. (A RIGHT turn is permitted when traffic management requires.)

To the EAST - expect a LEFT turn.To the SOUTH or SOUTHWEST - expect a minor RIGHT turn until passing 3000 ft.

(A LEFT turn may be required for traffic management purposes.)NOTE: In order to avoid as much as possible the built up areas to the north of theairport, crews are required to commence the SID turn as soon as possible above600 ft.

INTERSECTION DEPARTURES

Restrictions apply to intersection departures:

a. Aircraft exceeding 5,700kg (12,566 lbs) MTOW MUST use the full runway lengthavailable for departure.

b. Intersection departures by aircraft below 5,700kg may only be authorized by Towerto enhance traffic management.

c. Outside Tower hours of duty, ALL aircraft must use the full runway length availablefor departure.

TRAINING and AIRWORK FLIGHTS

a. Circuit training: Not permitted between 1200-2000; where possible circuits shouldbe distributed equally left and right of the runway in use.

b. Pilots must contact Gold Coast Tower on 07 5599 5990, no more than 30 minutesprior to commencing the session, to book circuit training.

c. Pilots must contact Brisbane Center on 07 3866 3694 for Navaid Training and air-work above 1500 ft. Pilots are advised to plan Navaid training prior to 2200 andafter 0600 daily. Significant delay can be expected for Navaid training between2200 and 0600.

d. Outside Tower hours pilots are requested to use the same runway for departure andarrival - if operationally acceptable.
