Year 1 Blackbirds

Blackbirds continue to make me so proud by working very hard. Here’s what we have

been up to.

We have continued developing our phonics knowledge recapping our alternative

sounds and sorting sorting pseudo and real words.

As a part of Mental Health Week we created our own ‘BRAVE’ acrostic poems. We

have also designed our own robots, thinkning carefull about what features it would

need to have.

Blackbirds have been focusing on doubling and finding half this week in maths.

In science this week we have been looking at what materials different objects are

made from. We then described these materials by their texture. Some of us have been

using our investigating skills and doing our own experiments at home.

In PHSE and R.E we have also had lots of fun thinking about the special people in our

lives and where is god?
